The city of Bandung that afternoon felt quite shady even though the sun was right at the top of the head. A cluster of black clouds coiled spoiled, dotting the bright blue horizon. Erka still closed her eyes as the phone screamed for attention.
The rhythmic scream was able to attract the consciousness that was wandering in the dreamland. Eyelids opened, the man lying behind the wheel of the car trying to restore all his memories once awake.
Erick, the name appears on the screen of the phone on. As per his pre-bedtime command, the assistant woke him up just at lunchtime. It is a performance that should not be doubted. Not only is it smart to take care of work and tenders, men older than a few years than him are even trained to take care of all personal needs.
“Ya.” A short answer came out from Erka's lips and sounded hoarse.
“Already lunch hour, Sir.” The masculine voice sounded heavy and authoritative.
“Ok. Thank ye. Anything to say again?” Erka cutting.
“No, Sir. Just let me know that Cindy's mom is most likely out of the hospital today. But, not yet certain, sir.”
“Ok.”
“Titip Daddy and Mommy.”
“Ready, Sir.”
Erka broke off the call while massaging the base of the nose. Drowsiness has not completely disappeared, he is still struggling to recover his brain from the dream that has been attached and participated in the real world.
“What Ayleen is done?” Looking towards the magnificent campus in plain sight, where his little sister had been studying for the past few hours.
“Still in an hour.” Erka grabbed a bottle of leftover mineral water and opened the car door. It appears he doused his handsome face with the rest of the water to expel his drowsiness.
For the past six months, that's what he's done to pay for his longing and loneliness in Jakarta. Monitoring the activities of his little brother became a special agenda when saturated with work routines. Ayleen with various poses and smiles becomes a fatigue reliever.
Forty-five minutes of surfing in cyberspace, occasionally commenting on photos of Ayleen with a smile. The dark sky began to collide, the black clouds unable to hold the bubbles in his body began to lower the water points to the earth. Erka stared at the rinai that fell like a diagonal line when blown by the wind.
“Hinjury.” Erka shuddered staring at the nanar outside the car window. Trees waving, leaves shaking hands with each other as the wind blew against them.
Before long, the lightning bolt shocked Erka. The man was dumbfounded looking at the light in the sky that suddenly turned gray.
“Ayleen must have been terrified.” Erka grabbed her phone and tried to contact Ayleen. The first call passes unanswered, Erka is lucky when the re-call immediately gets an answer.
“Leen, are you done?” Erka interrupted before her sister across spoke.
“Already, Brother. But the rain is heavy.”
“Ya. I went into the campus parking area. Wait a minute, I'll bring you an umbrella. Stay in the building. Creepy giddiness.”
“Ya, Brother.” Ayleen did not protest much, starting to follow the rhythm that Erka played.
“Ok.” That short sentence sounded convincing, Erka hurriedly ran her favorite car into the campus courtyard.
