Chapter 45. Marry my Raise Brother.
Deciding to return to Jakarta without informing Ayleen, Erka was heartbroken when she was expelled without being given a chance to explain. Twice rejected, twice the same disappointment.
The man still vividly remembers Ayleen's refusal the night before the move to Bandung. The girl also rejected him without feeling. Now, he suffered again and was still as sick as before.
The moon started to rise as Ayleen exited the room after pondering for hours. His stomach was rumbling, all day because he refused to go out of the room to not meet his brother. However, when darkness comes, silence greets and raises questions.
“Mbak, Brother Erka where?” Ayleen was astonished when he saw the dish served on the table was still intact untouched.
The young woman who works as a domestic assistant shook her head slowly. Do not know knowing and do not have the courage to ask the master's son.
“Tadi afternoon out in a hurry. Not yet back.” The home assistant explained.
“Hah?” Ayleen surprised. The girl's feeling is not good. Their debate a few hours earlier left a burden on the heart. There's a piece of regret for hounding Erka. An older brother who should have been respected, but expelled without feeling.
“What does Brother Erka go for offence?” Ayleen.
The house assistant who heard him looked confused. He also does not know much to the point of not being able to share information.
“It's been a long time, Ma'am?”
“Lumayan. Shortly after Non Ayleen returned home from college. Mr. Erka came out in a hurry. Not yet back.”
“What happened to him?” Ayleen's panicked. A few hours ago it appeared again. “Will he be cold again?” Recalling, twice troubled with the older brother and ended with Erka's cold attitude.
Hunger attacks the stomach since it was suddenly lost, appetite lost. The smell of food on the table is not enough. Ayleen turned to the room to pick up the phone. He had to call Erka and make sure the man was okay.
The connecting tone was a little soothing, but did not last long. Ayleen panicked when the dial ended and Erka did not answer the call.
“Kak Erka to where?” Ayleen's worries grew when he realized the clock on the wall had shown at 19:30 p.m.
“Mbak, try asking the front security and other home assistants. Who knows if anyone knows the whereabouts of Brother Erka,” Ayleen's statement.
“How, Mbak?” Ayleen was impatient.
“Nobody knows. The gentlemen in front were not told.”
“Wow! Her phone is not lifted.” Ayleen said softly.
“But, in, right?” Home assistant make sure.
“Sign in, Mbak. Just not lifted.”
“Maybe Mr. Erka is having some business. I will also be home, Non. Don'worry. Would the food be heated?”
Ayleen. His body was weak, his hunger was gone. Stepping back into the room, he turned around and ordered.
“Mbak, just keep the food. I'm not hungry.” A long sigh indicates the girl's feeling is not good.
Until the night crawled up, Erka's whereabouts were still unknown. At this point Ayleen was struck with fear. Bad things come without being asked. Until he could not and chose to call Veronica in the middle of the night blind.
...♡♡♡...
“Mom.” Ayleen sobbing.
Veronica was still not fully conscious. The old woman was already asleep as her phone rang near the sofa. He is forced to sleep in the hospital accompanying Cindy during Erka's disappearance.
“Leen, what's up? You haven't slept?” Veronica panic.
There was no answer, only the sound of sleepy cries.
“Leen, are you crying? What's up?” Veronica asked a question.
“Mom, Brother Erka.”
