The Bandung-Jakarta trip was a little longer than usual, the Hutomo family motorcade was stuck in traffic because of an accident. Ayleen was asleep when the car stopped at a funeral home north of the capital.
The establishment with high-end facilities was filled with greeting flower boards from friends, relatives, and business colleagues. Not only lined up in the building's courtyard, the condolences were also arranged along the sidewalk and can be witnessed by road users.
No wonder, the grieving is one of the conglomerate families in the archipelago whose name is quite taken into account.
“Leen, we've arrived.” Ersa was worried, glancing at the car behind which was carrying both of her parents.
The cute girl blinked a few times, then spread her gaze around. Ayleen's eyes glazed over as he read the flower board lined up before his eyes.
“According to mourn the passing of Mother Cindy Hariwijaya. Wife of Aryya Mighty Hutomo Son. From RD Group.” Ayleen read one of the giant flower boards right in front of him.
“Yes God, this is really real.” Ayleen said softly as he saw Cindy's name listed on dozens of flower boards. The tears now shed on their own. Turning around, the girl looked at Veronica and Hutomo who were frozen in place while staring at the puzzled flower board in the courtyard of the funeral home.
“Leen, please take care of Daddy and Mommy.” Ersa reminded me again.
Ayleen doesn't budge anymore. Scattering out of the car and hugging the almost unsteady Veronica.
“Mom, are you okay?” Ayleen clutched the weak Veronica. No tears, the old body stared at the flower board with a blank look.
“Dad.” Ersa hugged Hutomo. “I'm sorry, Dad.”
“What happened? How could he die?” Hutomo is stronger than his wife.
Ersa shakes. “I don't know, Dad. Erka didn't say anything.”
“Mom, let's go inside. We have to see Cindy and Erka.”
Veronica dragged her steps. He still can't accept. It was too sudden and he wasn't ready. His mind shared between crying over his son-in-law and being concerned about the fate of his grandson ahead.
Wearing, the tiny baby had to lose his mother when it was just a few days staring at the world. He could not imagine, nor imagine. Let the hand of the Lord work, he must only receive this sorrow with a spacious chest.
...♡♡♡...
After several days of not touching Cindy's tiny baby, Veronica and Hutomo were stunned when they entered the nursery and found Erka cradling her baby near the coffin.
The tears suddenly fell, Veronica could not see the heartwarming sight. The room decorated with white flower arrangements was sad. In one corner looked Cindy family filled the reserved seat, the aura of sadness was getting felt.
“Ka, what happened, Nak.” Veronica said Erka's arm, trying to encourage.
The handsome man in a black suit was silent. He focused on the baby sleeping in his hands.
“Why was brought here? She's still too small ...” Veronica's sentence was unresolved, Erka cutting with a raucous voice.
“For Cindy. Surely he wants to be ushered his daughter.”
Veronica hush. Together with Ayleen, the two walked over in the glass-covered coffin. Looked Cindy who was neat, dressed beautifully wearing a long white dress. His hair was left unraveled, his face looked peaceful.
