Married Because of Ijbar

Married Because of Ijbar
Chapter 7. Last request

Mr. Zul thought long enough during this one month. The teraphy actions he has been doing all this time probably won't change things. He felt his days getting heavier. The hair on his head was already very thin. However, his heart was a little relieved because the news of Khayru's father in Morocco was inversely proportional to his current state. According to his men there, Khayru's father was very good. His health has been progressing tremendously over the past year.

Mr. Zul called Maula to ask her for something.

“Pa ... Actually, Papa hurts what, anyway, Pa?” Maula got into bed and hugged her father.

“Darling ... can you ask for something from you?”

“What do you ask for, Pa? Maula has nothing. Maula only has Papa in this world.”

“Papa just wanted to ask for an approval from you. This is papa's last request.”

Maula stared at her father. “Last? What does Papa mean?” He hugged his father even tighter. “Maula does not want to talk to Papa again if Papa says the words 'Last' like that.”

“All living things in this world will surely die. No exception papa who is old and sick. But before papa dies, papa wants to see you happy.”

She cried hugging her father. “Don't stay in Maula, Pa. I don't want to live alone.”

“Papa promises you won't live alone. But you also have to promise to approve everything papa did for you.”

“What do you want Papa to do?”

“Many things, La. Papa had to travel to Morocco. Papa will bring your brother back to this house. And papa has to meet his father to apologize in person.”

“But later, yes, Pa. After Papa recovers,” whine Maula.

“You love papa, right, La? You won't oppose anything you plan to do someday. Everything papa did for your good.”

“Pa ...,” Maula protest in slow voice.

“Promise, darling.”

Maula looked at the father's face. “Anything will Maula do for Papa's sake, but Maula wants Papa cured.”

The next day, Mr. Zul invited Kyai Abdurrahman, dr. Luthfie and Suryadi's lawyer. He wanted them all to accompany his trip to Morocco.

“Pak Zul has just finished chemotherapy, is it not better to rest at home?” proposed dr. Luthfi.

“That's why I want the doctor to come along later. Doctor is a person who understands my current health condition.”

“Actually I am not competent in dealing with cancer. There are dr. oncologists who are more skilled at this, even so I care a lot and feel I have a responsibility. Therefore, I advise Mr. Zul not to take risks by traveling by air. Moreover, the distance between Indonesia and Morocco is not playing away.”

“This is very important, doctor. If necessary I will make a statement so that no party is to blame if at any time something happens to me. Likewise with Mr. Kyai and lawyers, I asked his willingness to accompany me.”

Kyai Abdurrahman and Suryadi's lawyer stated there were no problems as long as doctors allowed it. Finally, the four of them prepared to leave for the country which is located in the continent of west Africa which is quite far away.

Mr. Zul leaves Maula on his ART for the next few days as long as he is not at home. Maula was a little whining not want her father to go to a place known as the land of the sunsets even if only for a few days.

“Pa, Papa at home, don't go, Pa.”

“Long time, really, baby. Later Papa come home bring a lot of souvenirs.” Mr. Zul turned towards Bik Sulis. “Bik, please take good care Maula, yes.”

Khayru could hardly believe it when she opened the door she saw a very frail man in a troupe with several people who were with him. “Pa ..!” He immediately hugged her and took them inside the house. Khayru called her real father and introduced them all.

Suddenly, Mr. Zul fell before him. Kneeling before Mr. Omar, he did not stop saying sorry. Khayru and her father took Mr. Zul back to sit in the right place.

“I never blame you, Sir. I have no grudge. Deep down, I am truly grateful that you have cared for and raised my son,”, said Mr. Omar wisely as he glanced over and rubbed his son's arm. “For me, it's a miracle to be reunited with my son in old days like this.

“I think, I should keep coming to apologize because I don't know until when I will live. With the pain I was suffering, I felt like I was getting karma. God is punishing me now. ”

“Pa, why talk like that? We'd better all rest first. Tomorrow we chat again.” Khayru stared one by one the tired faces of the guests who came with Zul, then let them rest in the guest room.

Early in the morning, Khayru knocked on Mr. Zul's door. She was very excited to ask about her mother and her sister. However, it was not good news that he received at that time but rather the sad news of his mother's death. The news of the past year has hit Khayru. He was disappointed that no one told him.

“Pa ... Iru has just planned to return to Indonesia in the next two weeks. Iru misses my mom a lot, Papa does too. Iru already bought many gifts for mama, Iru thought mama would be happy to receive it.” Khayru sobbed to remember the figure of the mother he could not meet again.

“Mama is quiet there. We can still pray for him, Ru.”

“But Iru has not been able to repay the kindness of mama, Pa. Iru the unfilial son.”

“What papa is worried about right now is your sister, she will live alone if papa dies later.”

“Pa! Iru's heart still hurts from losing Mama. Before this Iru was always filled with feelings of anxiety because of the deteriorating health of Omar's father. Papa don't make Iru's heart hurt any more, by talking death.”

“Whatever happens with papa, please don't leave Maula. Take care and protect him because only you can ask for help.”

“Anything Iru will do for Maula and also Papa. Iru will take care of Papa like taking care of Omar's father until he recovers.”

“Then call Mr. Kyai, your doctor, your lawyer and your father. We'll do something in this room.”

Khayru followed his father's orders without knowing what he had in mind. Mr. Zul's wish was truly beyond belief. Everyone was shocked when Mr. Zul asked Khayru to say the word kabul in front of the witnesses and Mr. Kyai.

“Wait, wait! I mean Mr Zul wants to marry Khayru to Maula, is that it?” ask Mr. Kyai.

“Iya, Mr. Kyai,” replied Mr. Zul firmly.
