Lunara's Heart

Lunara's Heart
CHAPTER 129

"Mas Edi's a good husband. Very good, but my life is empty. It was a marriage we built without love. I didn't talk to him much, but he never felt offended. Her attitude remained kind and gentle, until finally in the second month of our marriage, she was honest that she started falling in love with me, but I felt guilty about that statement instead. Because until now I have not been able to reciprocate the feelings of my own husband, let alone be a good wife. Worse yet, I love others. Not only that, it indirectly means I love someone else's husband"

Lia explained her last sentence with a glance at Arief's ring finger, which was beautifully wrapped around her wedding ring with Nia.

"It makes no difference Lia" Arief said without looking. His eyes are just straight ahead. Lia had already turned her head to the side to look at the man's face.

"What?" Ask Lia astonished.

"Your marriage, and my marriage" replied Arief. A second later Arief screeched and smirked obliquely.

"We often discussed marriage with the word "Your marriage and mine" but who would have thought it meant that we would be in a different marriage. Your marriage and my marriage" Arief repeated the sentence again. But this time the grin slowly faded into a face of grief. It was still clear in their memories of the times when the relationship they were in was always about by Lia's father on material grounds. Arief who was just an ordinary employee in a private company was certainly not comparable to a young Doctor like Edi in the eyes of Father Lia.

An only child like Lia could do anything but obey. It was not that Lia was not in earnest with Arief, but that Lia herself did not have enough courage to oppose the Father.

"Sorry" Lia said bitterly. This made Arief look over.

"Sorry because I'm too weak to continue with you" This time Lia's tears couldn't help but break and flow down her cheeks. Arief felt his brain frozen, his tongue was too mute just to say "Don't cry". His right hand had hesitantly moved to wipe away the trail of tears belonging to the girl he still loved and loved her as well.

It hurts! That's what they feel. Although their current distance was close. But there was actually a bulkhead that was so high and sturdy stretched out in their way. Lia and Arief are one of the thousands, perhaps millions, of stories where love and happiness lose to money as a high standard of living.

No. gabe. Arief always hated to see Lia crying. He catches Lia's face with both hands.

"Is our meeting today not a coincidence?" Arief asked with deep eyes.

* * *

Nia's vegetables heard the sound of the motor approaching. He swiftly pulled up the blanket covering part of his legs and Nia herself rushed straight to the door.

"Assalamu'alaikum" Arief's voice was heard in the greeting.

"Wa'alaikumsalam mas from where it's been the clock so soon home" Arief who had not had time to enter, advance and tilt his head a little to glance at the wall clock in their living room. Ahh it was 11 p.m.

"Jaudah let's go in, clean up first. Let me heat up the food for you first" continued Nia who made Arief relieved because he did not have to answer his first question immediately, so he could still think of a more logical reason without hurry. Nia immediately grabbed the briefcase and jacket that her husband was wearing.

"Loh why? You don't want to eat first?"

"No need, clean up I want to go to bed immediately. Tired" Arief answered listlessly. Nia immediately approached and placed the back of her hand against Arief's forehead.

"You sick?" He asked with a touch of his hand on Arief's forehead.

"No, just tired" replied Arief while raising his wife's hand. In the bathroom, Arief repeatedly doused his head with cold water roughly. With the hope of his head feeling very heavy and hot it can cool down a little.

Chequek!

"Mas I want to talk for a moment" said Nia with a smile that looked very bright as soon as Arief's body had come out from behind the bathroom door in their bedroom.

"Tomorrow, I'm so tired" Sahut Arief as he walked to the bed and immediately spread his body sideways against Nia. Both of Nia's lips that were initially attracted high and wide instantly faded.

Uhh! Maybe her husband is tired from work. Her thought. Nia has always been. Thinking positively and prejudices are always good.

Next day

"You're overtime again today?" Nia asked as soon as she found Arief's body starting to get closer to the dining table.

"Hmm i-iya maybe" she answered nervously.

"Ohh means last night to go home late too because it is overtime yes" Lia said again.

"Other times if overtime is first reported yes mas. I'm not worried about waiting for you to come home like last night" Lia said, remembering herself last night who had to urinate waiting for Arief who never came home without news.

"Yes, I'm sorry I died last night and there's no charger. Next time I come home late last night, you don't have to wait. Just go to sleep, then let me bring a spare key just so you don't bother opening the door" Lia quickly shook her head with a smile.

"I don't bother. You want to go home at whatever time I wait. I'm glad to be able to welcome you home every time"

Uhhh! Arief felt guilty. When his wife was confused waiting for his return, he was with another woman. And could it be that Edi was also restless waiting for Lia's return like Nia last night? Because of his lies this time he would definitely lie again in order to cover up his first lie. Until all that is contained in guilt that will also continue to be ingrained in him. Because after all women as good as Nia do not deserve to be hurt.
