All the way home, filled with silence. Zahra preferred to look out the car window without glancing at Ken in the slightest.
They did not even go to the supermarket because Zahra immediately badmood with a sudden change of circumstances. They were fine before they met Jenar.
While Ken, he felt hope - please be anxious with the anger of the wife after meeting with Jenar accidentally earlier.
Ken used to meet his former date when he was with other women. And he always ignored that, even though the accidental meeting often ended with a small commotion among the women.
It should be underlined, here is not Ken who fuss with his partner, but the two women who accidentally met that is so noisy in front of Ken, while Ken? Of course, he was sick, as usual.
If Ken used to think women were not who - who he was, different from now. Because this time Ken met Jenar when he was with Zahra who was his wife. Moreover, he greatly appreciated Zahra's feelings.
Now Zahra silenced him. Is this time he and Zahra going to make a storm?
"Darling..." Ken tried to open his voice to melt his wife's heart.
"Hmmm..."
"I know you're angry, but--"
"Udah..pure it at home later!" cut Zahra fast and Ken could only sigh deeply.
Upon arriving home, Zahra went straight into the house and went up to the room. While Ken, he was still busy getting all their groceries out of the trunk of the car. Then, Ken started carrying all the items left in his right hand.
Ken followed Zahra into the room while putting all the paperbags on the desk there.
Zahra opened her pashmina in front of the mirror.
"Darling..."
"Later on, I want to pray first." said Zahra quietly while rushing to the bathroom.
Ken scratched his head that was not itchy, for whatever sake he was not ready if Zahra had to silence him because of this problem. He knew this was the result of his free past. Sooner or later Zahra will know everything about him. However, he is not ready if Zahra does not want to accept his past.
Ken turned his head when he saw Zahra coming out of the bathroom. Ken got up to go to the room, he wanted to pray too, just as Zahra had just done.
"Shalat isya' together ya.." he chanted in front of Zahra. Zahra nodded obediently but still Ken had not seen a smile rising from his wife's lips since coming out of the Mall earlier.
They performed congregational prayers, and as already, after the service, Zahra greeted Ken with reverence.
Without Ken knowing, Zahra had already taken the man's hand to be placed on Zahra's head.
"Why?" ken asked suddenly nervous because now his hand touched the top of his wife's head.
"Salat prayer, hold the sweet potato in the head of your wife.and then try to pray good." Zahra smiled softly.
O Allah, my wife.Inwardly Ken felt the heathen seeing the smile of the wife who was very sincere.
"Oh my God, this is my wife. Please take care of him when I'm not around him, protect him when I'm negligent in looking after him. Keep him out of all danger. Keep the bad and bring the good to her and our little family."
Ken felt moved by his own words, he did not expect to be able to string such a prayer specifically for his beloved wife.
Ken looked at Zahra who looked sparkling with glazed eyes before him. Did her prayer make Zahra come along too?
In his heart, Ken continued his prayer.
"Oh my God, may we get through whatever problems begin to hit our household. Take care of my wife's feelings, don't let her get away from my side. I love him so much... Aamiin's."
After praying in his heart, Ken cupped Zahra's face and kissed his wife's forehead with compassion.
"I'm sorry, honey." said Ken sincerely.
Zahra shed a tear, but hurriedly wiped it before Ken realized it. He wept because he was moved by Ken's prayers and actions on him. How much this made him love that man even more deeply.
But, Zahra has not been able to forget the incident at the Mall. The woman was very beautiful and she as a fellow woman was quite inferior when compared to a figure like Jenar who had a crossbreeding stature.
"You... Can you tell who Jenar is?" zahra asked with a stifled voice.
"She's the woman I was in the past!" answer Ken slowly.
"What caused you to break up?"
"Do I need to answer that?" ask Ken.
"Need.." answered Zahra briefly.
"I don't love him and we parted." Ken actually answered honestly but Zahra looked at him as if in disbelief.
"Where is it possible.." murmured Zahra softly.
"What is possible?"
"You.. don't love that girl? Seems impossible. If you've ever been in a special relationship, at least it's because there's an interest in each other."
"The interest is certainly there, I admit it's because I don't want to be a hypocrite! But, for more than that, or playing flavor with another woman.it's not me!" ken.
"Why is that?" ask Zahra astonished.
"Yes because I've loved other girls for a long time. And you know who that girl is, right? That's you!"
"But Ken. he looks like he fits you."
Ken clucked his tongue. "Suit it or not it doesn't need to be discussed, honey. I think we both are better suited. Haven't you? I think this thing is done here. If you're angry, I'm sorry, I didn't expect to see him there either."
Zahra nodded slowly. "Alright, we assume this problem is over. I'm not going to talk about it anymore. But you're really done with him, aren't you?"
Ken smiled a little. "of course! But.. You're jealous, aren't you?" tanyakanya.
"I am your wife now. Is it wrong to be jealous?" ask Zahra back.
Ken shakes. "You're jealous of my love, right? Let's say love is with me!" said happy.
"I'm jealous because you're my husband."
"Yes that too, but the most appropriate one is because you love me. Try saying it now..."
Zahra rolled her eyeballs. "Not that easy! Wait for that word to come out sometime!" said cuek.
Ken chuckled, then grabbed his wife's shoulder. "When is that when?" tanyanya brought the face closer.
"Or ah! Wait for me khilaf kali..." Zahra giggled and Ken became anxious with the sound of Zahra's laughter as if it was mocking her.
"Before you are caliph, I want to be caliph first, but the khilaf is different!" ken whispers gave Zahra goosebumps for a moment.
"I'm tired this day. I'm going to bed, okay?" Zahra whispered back in Ken's ear.
"Oh, it's been brave that my wife is, yes...." Ken tickled Zahra until Zahra begged him to stop it.
"Stop Ken!" said Zahra while holding Ken's hand which tickled her. Zahra tried to glare at her husband but Ken continued to act and did not press the wife's protest.
"Ken, please!" Zahra giggled because of her husband.
As Ken stopped that, he stared fixedly at Zahra.
"Don't silence me again, I can't. I don't want you to be cold with me. I want you to keep watching. I want to hear your scolding every day, even if it makes me dizzy, but it's better than you silencing me. Can you?"
Zahra nodded and Ken kissed his wife's left and right cheeks.
"Sleep, I know you're tired. I'll go to sleep after making sure you're well" said Ken softly.
