Upon returning from the Study tour, I found a cardboard box on the table.
"Mother, what is this box?"
"Ah that's your stuff first.mom took it from the old house."
"really."
I opened the cardboard to see what was inside, mostly just my toy as a child.
I took out a cat-shaped hanger as if it felt like this thing was familiar to me, as I kept thinking about it a memory just flowed through my head.
Without realizing it, tears just flowed from my face.
"So that's it."
I quickly walked out the door and ran towards Natalie's apartment.
When I was a kid I used to go to town with my family to try the playground, there I once got lost and while I was looking for my family I accidentally met a little girl who had the same fate as me.
We both use different languages so we can't communicate with each other, even though we speak in gestures.
I bought him some sweet food and went around hand in hand.
Before long a park ranger took us to the place where we lost a child, where we waited together until our parents came to pick us up.
"Thank God, I've been looking everywhere for you Arta."
"Mother."
I glanced at the little girl I was with before and her parents looked relieved. The girl gave me a cat hanger by her name while smiling sweetly at me.
The writing.
"Natalie."
I called her name when I saw her standing throwing garbage outside her apartment.
"The art? What was? Uh?"
She looked surprised as I hugged her so tightly and Natalie also put both her hands on my back.
"Are you having a bad dream? Cup. cup..everything's fine, the neighbors saw us anyway."
"I'm sorry I just remembered, you're the girl you were at the time, right?"
"So, Arta reminded him."
I let go of my embrace and showed a hanger in my hand.
"When did you say something when you handed this over? May I know what it is?"
"Ah. that."
Natalie looked flushed while taking her eyes off me.
"Do I have to say it?"
"I want to know."
When Natalie said it in French I immediately asked her to speak Indonesian.
"When I grow up, if we meet can I be your bride? Aah, this is embarrassing."
My face immediately petrified.
"I should have said that."
"Eh?"
Natalie tilted her head in surprise, as she looked at me I finally realized that my mumbling was heard by her.
I immediately averted my eyes and hurried away.
"Later I'll call you again."
Natalie stopped me immediately.
"I accidentally listened to your chat with your mother, is that true?"
My face might be so embarrassed right now, I couldn't even show my face to Natalie so I decided to nod in response and hurried to walk away.
A few moments before.
"What about your study tour Natalie?"
"Fun, I tried all the rides there, even dancing in front of the campfire."
"Heh, like that. Then who's your partner when you dance?"
"I don't want to say it."
Rosalie timidly stared at her blushing red daughter.
"Let's guess what, Arta must not? You've loved it since you were a kid."
"How did you know?"
"Mama's pretty confident in your memory, she's the kid you used to be with in the playground, right?"
Natalie just puffed her cheeks pouting.
"When did you know?"
"From the beginning, she'll be my daughter-in-law later so I keep following her."
"It was just a stalker's job, but don't tell Arta. I think she forgot it."
"So, are you sad?"
"Not really, childhood is just going to be the past even though I don't mind, I prefer the present where I can be with Arta."
Natalie's mother laughed a little.
"My daughter is very honest, but I'm sure she'll remember it one day."
"Then, I'll take out the trash."
"Please, please."
