02. Rise from the fall
It has been almost four months since Yahya died. But Arrum still can not accept the fate that has taken the departure of his beloved husband. Every day Arrum only confined himself in the room, rarely speaking except to Arya child just his puppet. His daily activities only help his mother who has a grocery store in front of his house. Arrum now lives with his parents.
Arrum rarely goes out of the house even if only to take Arya to school. For now he is becoming the lips of the neighbors with his present status as a young widow. Indeed, in the village, the status of widows is considered a disgrace where they are considered as bad women who will tempt people's husbands. And it applies to all who bear it. It doesn't matter if she's a good woman or not.
Desi is Arrum's only sister who every day to send and pick up Arya who is now in 2nd grade Elementary School. Actually, Arya is an independent child and does not want to be picked up again because her school is not far from her grandmother's house. But his aunt Desi could not bear to see his only nephew on foot.
In every night Arrum always think about how his fate and his son in the future. Because it is impossible if he continues to hitchhike life on his parents. He is eager to work, but only has a high school diploma. Nowadays it is very difficult to find a job with just a High School diploma. Especially at his age now. At best it might just be a household assistant.
"Yet, Arrum wants to talk for a while" said Arrum Lirih in his mother's room who had just finished praying Isya'.
"What's ndok?"
"Arrum wants to ask for your opinion." Arrum hugs his mother to his mother's bed.
"Oh, Arrum wants to enter Arya into a boarding school in the suburbs. And Arrum wants to work too. Arrum had asked Mbak Narsih who worked to find labor as a household assistant of a foundation. Arrum doesn't want to have to bother mom"
"But I don't mind Rum, you're mom's son.."
"Yes buk, but Arrum wants to study independently buk. Arrum has the responsibility of Arya. Arrum did not want that until Yahya was disappointed to see we could not continue living independently. Mas Yahya always advised Arrum to live as independently as possible. Arya agrees buk. And Tambak relics mas Yahya will sell Arrum for Arya school fees until graduation may even be enough for Arya buk tuition fees. Arrum won't use the money, because it's money for Arya. Arrum must rise buk..Arrum has to get out of this slump and start a new Arrum life" Arrum's tears well up her eyelids.
"Thank you buk.." Arrum sobbed in his mother's arms.
Desi and Mr. Ahmad who saw them from the door of the room also felt sadness there.

"Arya dear, I ask Arya who is diligent in learning and her salary is son. Obey the same mas Yusuf because he is now your caregiver and takes care of all your needs here." Arrum message to Arya when sending her to the boarding school.
"dek Yusuf,titip Arya yes.if you need anything immediately contact me"
"yes, God willing, I will take care of your trust" Joseph replied firmly. Yusuf is an 18-year-old young santri who now serves as the guide of the children's dormitory.
"Thank you" said Arrum while hugging Arya who looked a little sad but immediately smiled to see Arrum gave her a storybook of Sholeh's favorite child Arya.
Arrum rushed away from the cottage and went straight to the foundation he had contacted by being escorted by Mr. Ahmad.
