Little Hearts in Your Heart

Little Hearts in Your Heart
Chapters 13. Surrender

Miki and Kaori have been in the lobby of the publishing house. They used magazines to cover their faces. They had just stood up, but Kaori pulled Miki, and made her sit back.

“Ohiya, Miki-neesan, she doesn't recognize me, let me just ask her.”

“What does it mean, Kaori? About me?”

“Not because of that, we are to this place, uh..” Kaori stopped when she saw Taka and a girl were coming out of the elevator. “Isn't he Satou-san, and, that Suzuki Aiko?” Kaori turned her head and found Miki's nod. “Come we see.”

Miki complied, as Kaori's hand had pulled her. They then follow Taka and Aiko who walk to the sidewalk.

“Are they indeed close?” kaori asked while hiding, keeping a distance from Aiko and Taka.

“Kaori, it's not good to follow them,” said Miki, stopping in front of the gate of the publishing house.

Kaori turned around, snorting. “What's up, Miki-nesan? They're getting away. Is Miki-neesan not jealous to see them?”

“Jealous?” Miki half gaped.

“Well, Miki-neesan, try asking yourself,” Kaori touched Miki's chest, “Actually like it or not to that guy? You don't flutter at all when you see it, do you?”

“Eh?” Miki biting lips, thinking. “I like,” murmured. Miki played her fingers. “I just feel inappropriate, look at them, Taka and Aiko look a matching couple.”

Kaori sighed. “Already expected, Miki-neesan is not in love. That, I guess, is like looking at an artist. Miki-neesan only likes her because she looks like an artist. I'm sure Miki-neesan used to feel this way.”

“Like this? What like?”

Kaori sneered. “At first you liked it, but after seeing something that Miki-neesan didn't like, Miki-neesan would stay away from him. And, as of now, Miki-neesan had no power to risk it.”

Miki quiet. “Is that? But, I agreed to that bet. That's because of Taka," he thought it might just be his brain condition that doesn't support thinking deeper.

Kaori shook her head, as if very confident in her opinion. “It was due to the debate of Redy and Suzuki Aiko fans. So because of that, Miki-neesan as Sensei felt like he didn't want to lose to her.”

Miki patted her cheeks, trying to wake herself up. “I like Taka, Kaori. Know what you are about my own feelings.”

Kaori lowered her head. “If I were Miki-neesan, I would be angry to see them together. Is Miki-neesan trying to lie to her own feelings?”

Miki quiet. Digesting Kaori's words. “You made me, like someone I don't have

feeling.”

“Eh? I'm sorry.” Kaori moved her lower lip.

“But, you sound so right. And since that's true, I should probably give up.”

“Eh? Why that? I didn't ask Miki-neesan to stop. I just want Miki-neesan to be honest with her own feelings.”

“I'll think about it at home,” he said and stepped up.

Kaori felt guilty. He sighed and followed Miki. Back to the house.

*

“Should I tell you?” he muttered, but he stepped back, into his apartment.

Miki took off her shoes. entered the room, threw just any bag, and threw her body on the bed. He looked at the ceiling of his apartment, breathing hard many times.

“I'll take a shower,” he said and walk to the bathroom.

Before long, Miki came out in clean and comfortable clothes. He sat down at his short table. Lean on the edge of the bed. He stood up for a while, picked up a book with red skin, then sat down.

Miki opens the cover and smiles reading the first sheet, “Tokyo’s Diary.” This meant that it had been four years since he first bought the book during the student admission announcement. “What is this?” muttered and chuckled, reading, “aku in the apartment, alone. Miki.” Just a sentence for the first day in Tokyo.

“I'm drafting my sixth novel and I'm not going to college today. Mickey. Oh, God, am I this lazy,” he said, commenting on his own writing. Miki then stopped on a sheet of paper containing writing with a sentence that was slightly longer than before.

“The first time I washed with a washing machine in the lobby, I swore indistinctly because I didn't know how to use it, and then someone next to the apartment came out. Um, the apartment from one to the other sangt is close together, I can even jump onto the balcony of his apartment. The man laughed at me, but his laughter was beautiful. I could pick. He taught me to use it. Thank you, handsome man, Miki.”

Miki laughs, “Do I write about Daiki-senpai?” murmured and continued on to the next sheet. “We have a lot in common, glad to hear it tell a story. Miki.”

“Did I like it back then?” Miki frowned.

"Ei, Daiki-senpai turned out to be grumpy, she beat up a boy on campus. But I don't hate him, because he defends me. Miki, you're lucky to have Daiki-senpai."

"Having similarities, we can tell old stories. But even though many of my friends at the college liked Daiki-senpai, I was one of the ones who didn't like it. Why, Miki?"

“Do I only have one man to tell me?” muttered Miki and opened the sheet quickly. It stopped when the date changed to, a year ago. “Oh here he is, His name is Satou Taka-kun, he is very handsome, cheap smile. It's a shame he didn't see you, Miki.” Miki took a breath, from the beginning she never saw me, she thought.

I smiled when I saw him. Eyes followed him. Too bad, he didn't notice me today either. Mickey.

I went to the publisher's place just to see Taka. After yesterday, he finally smiled at me, so I diligently looked at him-more. I even brought him coffee, but he didn't seem to know. It's okay, Miki.

Ah, he looks very close to Taka. Is it better tomorrow when I get there, I introduce myself? Ah, of course not.

“Why? What's wrong with me? Do I really have no feelings?“ Miki closed her diary, threw it away. He hugged his knees. “Honest with feelings? But, what feelings do I have.”

Miki stood. Get out of his apartment and press the Daiki apartment bell. He waited a few seconds, the door opened.

“What's up?” ask Daiki.

Miki. He saw Daiki's face for a while. And then…

Daiki yelling. “What are you doing, Miki?”

Miki grunting. Taking off his embrace from Daiki's body. “Wait a minute, senpai,” said and touched his chest. He sighed. “I'm not pounding at all, it means I don't like senpai, right?”

Daiki's lips were pulled upwards. “You crazy?” ask with enlarged eyes.

“Ah, senpai, I don't understand my feelings at all.”

I was thinking of giving up. I thought I'd bet on someone I liked. But then, what am I risking. I'm gonna quit. I never intended to write a story like this. And also, you don't understand such a story, Miki.*
