Little Hearts in Your Heart

Little Hearts in Your Heart
Chapters 12. Curious

Miki once again pressed down on the bell of the Akagi family home. He snorted, annoyed. It had been five minutes he was standing at the door. He saw a canteen in his hand, containing strawberries. He then pulled out his cell phone from his jacket pocket. Looking for Kaori's name.

“Are you outside again?” Miki half yelled at the phone. “You're at home. Then why don't you open the door. I know your mother's definitely not home right now. I...” Miki stops when the door opens. He ended his call and bowed. “Eh...” he scratched his cheek, confused by Kaori's sister who covered her head with a towel. “Good afternoon, Ken-san.”

“Friends Kaori, right? Wait a minute I call,” he said and closed the door back.

Miki grunting. He could hear a scream calling out to Kaori. And the voice of Kaori who came back shouted.

“Miki-neechan should go straight in,” said Kaori who opened the door.

“Who would enter if closed such a door,” murmured Miki and changed his shoes with sandals. “And I wanted to hand it over to your brother, but he didn't seem to want it.”

Kaori smiled, taking a canticle from Miki's hand. “Thank you. Miki-neesan, just go to the room first. Mom asked me to prepare a snack for you.”

“No need to bother, Kaori. Immediately to your room if you have moved the fruit.”

Kaori nodded. He's coming to the kitchen right away. “Oni, there are starawberries for you,” cried Kaori at her brother who was watching in the living room.  “Oniichan, didn't you hear me?”

“Iya,” his voice sounded annoyed, “that, your friend shouted in front of the house. You said I was here?”

Kaori came out of the kitchen, stopped at the family room door hole, “who cares about you? I didn't tell anyone,” snorted Kaori and ran up the stairs.  “Sorry, make you wait a long time,” he said and put a tray with tea and cake on the table. “Please,” says Kaori please.

“Thank you,” said Miki smiled. “Oh yes, Kaori, your sister looks weird.”

“Oniichan is always weird.”

“Really?” Miki grabbed a teacup, drank a sip, and put it back down. “Ken-san looks very normal when I meet.”

“She is indeed very different from Ken-niichan,” Kaori said and picked up the notebook on the bookshelf. “Oh, Ah, that, Miki-neesan don't tell others about her whereabouts in this house.”

“Eh?”

Kaori looked at the confused face. He then ignored it and showed his mathematical task, “By the way, Miki-neesan also had to do this task right?” he said smiling, wide.

*

Miki opened her eyes. Whether the choice was to go back to school right or not, what was clear was that he had to get up every morning. He got up and sat on the side of his bed. The uniform that depends. He sighed. Slowly hit her cheeks.

“I haven't got the slightest idea,” murmured. “Am I wasting my time?” Miki stood. Slow walk to the bathroom. “I might only be able to last a week,” he said looking at his four fingers in front of his face.

Miki washed her face quickly, but put on her uniform very slowly. He had even sent Kaori a message to go to school first. He put in one of his books. Go to the kitchen, sit down at the dinner table, open the bread, apply the chocolate, bite the bread, and chew it slowly. In between his meals, he sighed.

After that, he put on his suit. Taking bag. Put on your shoes and get out of the apartment. “Good morning, Senpai,” said as she looked at Daiki with a garbage bag in both hands.

“Morning,” said and stepped behind Miki who had walked first, down the stairs. “You will be late,” exclamation Daiki when you see the slow pace of Miki.

Miki turned around and looked up.

“What's wrong with you? Are you tired of your school play?” daiki asked, smiling, remembering Miki's story of her reason for returning to school.

“Entah, senpai,” said Miki with pursed lips. “I'll tell senpai when I get home later. I went to school first.”

“Ok, be careful on the road,” said Daiki, furrowing eyebrows.

Miki sped up the scarcity, somewhat running down the street. He looked at the Akagi family home. But as usual the house seems very quiet, Kaori may also have left for school. Miki stopped at the bus stop. He waited five minutes and the bus stopped. He immediately went in and sat on the left seat. Look out the window.

Ten minutes later, the bus stopped at a bus stop near the school. Miki stood up, looking at some of the students coming down. But until the bus door closed, he didn't get out of the bus. He sat back.

Upon reaching the next stop, Miki exited the bus. He walked quickly to the station. Take the JR Yamatone line train. He sat down immediately. When the carriage had walked, he looked up when he found the shoes of someone standing by his side.

*

“Kaori... Why don't you go to school? What are you doing there? You're like a criminal,” exclaimed Miki, just realizing the whereabouts of the high school student.

Kaori hissing. He remembered, this morning.

Kaori looked up, looking at the open upstairs window of her house. But he did not find his brother who was screaming again. He had, since then, been squatting behind the fence wall. His eyes were watching the road again. “What's with Miki-neesan well?” he thought, rereading Miki's message. And not long after, the person he was waiting for came. He pulled the leaves as Miki paused briefly in front of his house. But, after Miki walked back. He came out of his hiding place. And started following every step of Miki's path.

Kaori covered her face with a book. Take a seat at the very back of the bus. After ten minutes, he stood up, ready to go down, but he sat back down as Miki left his place. The bus is back on its way.

Kaori's cheeks expand when the bus has passed through Tokyo tower. Miki-neesan, where are you going? He thought and followed Miki down to the next bus stop. He walked quickly after seeing Miki had gone through a ticket detector. He got into the car before the door closed. He looked for Miki and found her sitting down. He approached. And as Miki looked up, she smiled broadly. “Hi, Miki-neesan?”

“Kaori,” exclaimed Miki and then lowered his head in shame because of her voice. “What are you doing here?” ask her after Kaori sat down.

“Miki-neesan where to go?” asked Kaori with a moving eyebrow.

“You should go to school.”

“But, Miki-neesan is also not going to school.”

“I'm not a student, ah..” Miki looks at her uniform.

“So where are you going?”

“I'll Shibuya. To the publishing place.”

Kaori's eyes grew bigger. “Really?” his master is full of spirit. “Did Miki-neesan have any ideas? Is there a new script?” Kaori searches, but she finds nothing but Miki's school bag.

“No script,” murmured Miki. “I was just there looking around.”

Miki sighed, “Ne, Kaori, why don't you go to school?” he asked once more, although a tone of surrender had already been heard from his sentence.

“I followed Miki-neesan. Wh why? Because I'm curious. If I were curious, I wouldn't be able to study well. It's the same if I don't take lessons. Then, Miki-neesan why go there during school hours?”

Miki shut up for a moment. “Hmm, maybe like you. Out of curiosity, I want to go there..”.

Kaori waited, but because Miki was silent, she also kept quiet. Arriving at their Shibuya station, they don't talk much. When he got out of the station, Miki did not stop holding Kaori's hand.

“I will not be lost, Miki-neesan,” Kaori said through her hands, as they were in front of the Toukyu building, in front of the station.

Miki smiled and took off her hand.

“Where is the publishing house?” kaori asked, as they had walked.

“After Shibuya crossing,” said Miki and held back Kaori's hand as they crossed.

They stopped after passing Center Gai.

“What's up, Miki-neesan?” kaori asked, puzzled to see Miki who was silent. He looked up at the nameplate of the publishing house.

Miki looked over, smiling. “Come to the cafe in front of him only,” he said and crossed after the green light. They went into the cafe and upstairs. From there, they could clearly see the streets and buildings. “What do you want to drink?” ask and keep looking at the publishing house.

“Miki-neesan, let me order,” Kaori said, volunteering.

“Ah, uh, ice Mocha latte.”

Kaori immediately ordered two of the same drinks. Before long, he returned and put the drink on the table.  He noticed Miki's serious-looking face. “What guy will be through here?”

Miki turns around, finding Kaori sucking her drink. “You know where you are?”

Kaori sighed. “So right. Ohiya, I probably won't like that guy.”

“Men? What do you mean?” miki asked, looking at Kaori who sucked a quick drink in front of him, it seemed very thirsty.

“That, Reki told me,” Kaori said with pursed lips.

Miki mumbled indistinctly. “You know nothing.”

“Satou Takahiro that will not let Miki-neesan bet if it likes you. Sounds like he's playing.”

“Eh?” miki's forehead is wrinkled. He did not understand how this boy knew Taka's full name.

“I was very curious, the reason Miki-neesan liked it. Why?”

Miki biting lips. He sighed. Look out the window. “You look at him,” he said pointing at the man who just got out of the car.

Kaori stand. Pasting his face on the glass window. “Oh, he's a handsome guy.”

“He also looks very good,” said Miki who has been standing next to Kaori. “Eh, she also always smiles.”

Kaori turned her head, finding Miki's smiling face. “Miki-neesan really likes it?”

“Ehm, I don't understand either. Maybe it was because I was curious, so when he said we would get to know him more closely, I got excited about the bet. I don't think, what if I can't. It turns out that it is difficult to do something that does not really come from the heart.”

Kaori pursed her lips, looking at Miki's sad face.

“I'm even curious how about my heart. Do I really want it? Or am I just liking it? Just looking at him from afar was enough. That's because maybe I'm too stupid, to understand feelings, to distinguish likes and love.”

“Eeh, has Miki-neesan never been in love before?”

“Ah?” miki's eyebrows shot up. “Kaori ever?”

“I'm not sure either. But I got it. Does Miki-neesan remember what happened the first time she met Satou-san?”

Miki's forehead shriveled. “It... about a year ago. She started working at her father's publishing house.”.

“Miki-neesan forgot? That means this is not love at first sight.”

“Indeed love is divided?”

Kaori sneered. “Aish, how Sensei can make a romance story if this alone does not know.” He was silent, holding his chin. “Ne, Miki-neesan, don't you wonder what Satou-san thinks of you?”

“I don't care. That's obvious, if only I liked it.”

“Do not be pessimistic. Let's find out.”

“Search tofu? What?”

“About Miki-neesan's feelings and also Satou san's feelings,” said Kaori grabbed Miki's hand. “Confirm me.”

Miki smiled, nodding.

You know what happens when curiosity envelops the brain? It feels like you're forgetting something very important, but forgetting what it is. Therefore, all you do is try to find it, and sometimes the curiosity makes you feel like a madman. Isn't the first cause of liking being curious, Miki?*
