EPISODE 25: THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE

It has been a month since I interned at PDAM in Balikpapan. I don't feel like time is passing so quickly. I also have to get ready to go to the internship place because today I have to go to PDAM KM 8 with my mentor and friend, fix the clogged water valve.

A few minutes later.

I went straight to PDAM office area two. All the equipment and necessities I had put in the bag and I immediately rushed to the PDAM office of the two regions where I interned.

Before leaving I had to make sure my house was safe because my parents went to Jakarta. It was 5am from Sepinggan Balikpapan international airport. Attend company events in Jakarta.

I immediately stopped by the shop in front of my housing gate and bought a fry in front of my housing gate.

I got to the stall, and then I bought the snacks and drinks that my mentor told me to. After everything had been purchased, I immediately rushed to the PDAM where I was Interning

25 Minutes later.

I arrived at PDAM region two. I parked my vehicle. I've seen my friend's motorbike has arrived. I immediately rushed absent and entered the workshop office.

My mentor immediately pulled out the money from his wallet "this mas 100 thousand, just take the change , make the cost of gasoline " ,

Then we were told to mentor to bring workshop tools such as wrenches, hammers, Sorong term and measuring instruments.

Me and my friend immediately took all the items that will be brought later, after everything has been taken. We put it in my mentor's backpack.

All tools are ready. We are still waiting for a pickup car owned by PDAM Balikpapan city that will take us to PDAM KM 8 Balikpapan.

After waiting 45 minutes the pick up car arrived at the parking lot. We immediately rushed to the parking lot to ride the Pick up to PDAM KM 8. We all got in the pick-up car, and my friend and I sat in the back, and my mentor sat down next to the driver. We went straight to PDAM KM 8.

Me and my friend chat while enjoying the morning atmosphere of Balikpapan city that is so comfortable. Me and my friend had our first pickup, usually we just ride a motorcycle or a car.

We kept chatting and joking on the way, until we arrived at the location, it turned out we entered into the forest and we had to be careful because the road was rocky and slippery. We held the same iron in the vehicle so as not to fall.

We entered a community. We asked which direction to go to the PDAM reservoir next door, the people we asked headed straight down this road. We immediately rushed to the location but suddenly it rained heavily at the location we came to.

We decided to find shelter until the rain stopped. We saw a small stall on the side of the road near the forest we immediately stopped at the stall while waiting for the rain to subside. We ordered hot drinks and ate boiled noodles.we ordered drinks and food while waiting for our order chatting.

- Mentor: How mas , our journey is full of challenges, this is how we work later.

- I : Yes sir, it is also difficult to find money, we do not know how our parents slam bones, bet lives in the Work.

my friend: Yes sir.

- PDAM driver: what else I mas , every day have to go back and forth every PDAM region to deliver goods and others , for example, like this, the weather arrived rain, I also have to be careful if I am not careful about the risk because I bring people better I fall myself mas than we all fall.

For a long time we chatted we paid for all the food and drinks we ordered. We continued our journey to the location. It was 12pm but the rain was still falling.

We walked through the thickets of trees and the road we passed was just enough for one vehicle. Our vehicle drove very slowly for fear of falling into a hole around the road.

We did not see one house around the location but about 200 meters there were 3 houses close to each other we finally decided to stop there. We are located on foot because our vehicles cannot pass through the footpath. Our journey is 500 meters away. We broke up on foot to the location of the PDAM water reservoir in Balikpapan.

Step by step we walked but I felt bad and felt a deep fear.

I was thinking "if anything happens maybe no one knows because the residents' settlements are far from the location ". Until we arrived at the PDAM water reservoir. We checked the condition of the water reservoir.

A few minutes after checking. We were approached by a resident in a blue vehicle. I saw on the back of his rich shirt carrying a sharp object. I immediately told the mentor "heart sir, the person who was in the vehicle was carrying a sharp weapon ", my mentor immediately replied "yes mas , I also know ".

After the people left, we continued our work. We immediately took the tools to open the PDAM water reservoir but the water resiver could not open even though we were forced to open it.

Only cutting welding tools can open them however as we do not carry cutting welds. We decided to report the head office, you came right back but suddenly it rained back we rushed back to our vehicle.

We walked back but upon arrival on the road there were many residents who gathered near our vehicles. Maybe about 15 people from one of the people we met at the PDAM water reservoir

we immediately approached and asked what had happened but had not had time to ask the person carrying the sharp weapon furiously like a provocateur, inciting the citizens to attack us. We are also ready with the tools we hold in case of dangerous actions.

Finally one of the residents explained about the problems of the headquarters and surrounding residents that the PDAM drill water will be forced to close because it violates the rules. My mentor also explained "that we do not know about the occurrence of this problem Because we only work in the workshop section", the residents immediately replied "so sir , please tell the head office that they have used our land but we only ask for a little water to be banned ", my mentor replied "good sir, sir , I'll get home after this ".

After finishing chatting with one of the residents earlier. The person carrying the sharp weapon immediately got angry while wanting to pull out the sharp weapon but I was ready in case of dangerous actions but one of the residents immediately told the person to return home because the problem was already done that. Eventually, the man left here.

Everything is done, we permit to go home and say goodbye to the surrounding residents.

One of the residents came to us, said "sorry, sir, that's another drunk man "My mentor replied "yes it's okay, that's okay, it is our responsibility to provide services for the citizens ".

We went back home because it was 3pm. We finally continued our journey back to the shop.

On the way we were very weak with the incident. We broke up to rest in the vehicle.

45 Minutes later.

We got to the workshop, but all employees have gone home except for water treatment employees because their work shifts. We went straight into the workshop and immediately breathed a sigh of relief.

We immediately got ready to go home before we went home to talk briefly about the matter earlier.
