29. Twinkle - Twinkle Little Star

“Om, go for a walk,” take Niko when Haikal comes home from work and just put down his briefcase.

“Where? I'm still tired of Niko.” Haikal loosening tie.

“To where deh.”

“Iya later afternoon well. Om want to rest first,” said Haikal.

Nikopun came out of his room. Neny gave a thumbs up to his only son.

In the afternoon at exactly three o'clock, Niko billed her promise to Haikal. He sat on the back of Haikal who was still sleeping.

“Om. Said he wanted to take a walk.” Niko shouted loudly in Haikal's ears.

“Aduh Niko. Short again yes.” Haikal covered both ears with a pillow.

“Ah. Come on donk om, Niko has taken a shower. Later night hunt.” Niko rips Haikal's body by tickling him. Haikal wriggling amusedly.

“Iya.iya. ha.ha..ha” Haikal laughs amusedly while still closing his eyes.

Haikal's car turned towards the restaurant.

“Lho here om?”

“And we usually pick up Kirana,” Haikal replied.

Niko tried to think, as she remembered this afternoon she invited Haikal only and did not mean to take Kirana. “Niko did not say you want to invite big sister kok,” said Niko astonished.

Haikal had already removed his seat belt. He lowered his shoulders a little disappointed. Indeed, Niko did not invite Kirana, but every time they went will take Kirana and apparently it has become a habit of Niko until Haikal unconsciously always picked up Kirana first.

Haikal's brain as a driver in his own family seems to have conceptualized that every walk will overtake Kirana.

“Yes is not pa-pa. Niko wait in the car yes, Om,” said Niko.

Haikal's shoulders lifted again, and he excitedly drove out of the car to the restaurant. Niko waits in the car while fiddling with the car's mp4. He opened the car drawer and took the contents.

Niko's eyes widened when she found a photo. It's a photo of Haikal with Kirana. When Haikal walks with Kirana to the car, Niko immediately puts the photo in her pocket. He folded his arms sullenly.

“Niko move to back yes,” command Haikal.

“Neg. Niko wants to be here.”

“Masa’ kak Kirana sitting behind?”

“If Niko sits in the back, sister Kirana should also be in the back.”

“You why the hell is it so fussy gini?” Haikal was a little upset.

“People with beautiful sister can not sit together.” Niko's hand is getting tighter. Kirana and Haikal looked at each other and raised eyebrows in surprise with Niko's attitude.

“What the heck. You are..” Haikal was about to get angry, but Kirana prevented him.

“Gak pa-pa's. Let me be behind.” Kirana used her signal.

He sat in the back alone. Haikal glanced at his nephew slightly irritated.

Throughout his time at the playground, Niko's frown was unchanged. He's in a bad mood with his mom.

“Niko doesn't like to play here?” ask Kirana in her notes. Niko shook her head.

“Why does Niko moody keep?” Kirana stroked Niko's hair. Niko's tears begin to glaze over at Niko. He sobbed. “Why cry dear?” Kirana's worried.

“The end of evil. Masa’ photo Niko so lost. Why are there only photos of brother and sister?” Niko's cries began to break. Kirana increasingly did not understand what Niko meant. Any photo he doesn't know. Why is there a picture of him and Haikal?

“Which photo is Niko?”

Niko took out the photo in her pocket.

Kirana was half surprised by the photo and she remembers never being photographed together with Haikal sewatu at the zoo. He also realized that there should be Niko in the middle.

Kirana smiled, she knew that the photo was only edited. But he himself wondered why Haikal edited the photo. Haikal came to bring me three ice creams.

“Lho why are you crying?” Haikal asked his nephew.

Kirana gave me the photo. “He was sad because you made him disappear in the photo.” Haikal frowned, his face half reddened shyly as the photo was seen by Kirana, but he laughed loudly.

“Niko.. it's not the om that does. but your mama who took a picture of Niko's face,” said Haikal using language that is easy for young children to understand.

“Why was Niko's face taken?” isak Niko has stopped.

“Err... yes all poses of your photos taken to be an album trus sent to the editor of junior Master magazine,” Haikal replied origin.

Master Junior is a children's magazine about fasion and like an adult magazine that contains cosmetic products for children. Niko's face turned bright. That means the mother is making her a model like a child artist on television.

“Bener om?” ask Niko hoping.

Haikal nodded to please his nephew. Kirana knew that Haikal was lying, but she kept quiet. He was still curious about the photo. Even though he was actually happy.

In the end, Niko sat on Kirana's lap in front of her to make it fairer. Unknowingly Niko was already asleep in Kirana's arm. Haikal smiled amusedly at Niko.

“Sorry yes about that photo,” says Haikal. “Emang brother Neny fad cropping pictures of his own son. You are not angry with that photo, photo we have..two?” Haikal slightly glanced at Kirana while driving.

Kirana smiled shakes her head. It didn't matter to him about that little photo. In fact there is a happy surge when knowing the photo, even though it has been engineered.

Every time Haikal saw a smile and dimples on Kirana, he was so comfortable and peaceful looking at her. Haikal is relieved that Kirana is not angry, he is afraid that the girl misunderstands him.

“Based on the little boy has a lot of trouble people now feel good about sleeping.” Haikal's lyrics, he rubbed his nephew's hair fondly. “Funny is also a child as small as he can already be jealous,” he continued. “Oh yes we return Niko first yes, then I take you home.” Kirana nodded in agreement.

Haikal holds Niko, while Kirana rang the doorbell.

“Ah, you're home.” Neny replaces holding Niko. He smiled and greeted Kirana.

“Sorry yes troublesome,” said Neny addressed to Kirana.

“Udah yes brother I deliver Kirana first,” say Haikal. Neny nodded.

The trip to the restaurant from Haikal's house was longer because they had to turn around. About a hundred meters from the restaurant, Haikal's car suddenly stopped suddenly.

“Ah, shit stay a little longer.” Haikal kept the engine running.

“For a while yes I check first.” Haikal got out of the car and opened the front hood.

He checked and something shorted. Kirana's out of the car.

“Something's wrong with the car. Where you live a little more.”

“No pa-pa I walk. It's close,” said Kirana handed him a note.

“Eh don't. It's been a night where you may have gone home on foot alone. I'll call the dealer first yes.” Haikal called his dealership asking for help with a tow truck.

“What? still another hour to get there ?ah yes already. I wait.” Haikal hung up.

“His towing car is just an hour away. Did I call you a taxi?” haikal.

“Udah I'm on foot. Just a little more, really. Ten minutes had also arrived," Kirana insisted. Haikal finally locked the door.

“Let me accompany the road,” he said.

They walked together in the darkness of the night with lights on the side of the road as a guide. Haikal put both his hands in his jacket pocket. It was cold after the rain. The remnants of the muddy ground pooled everywhere.

Fortunately Kirana wore a sweater, at least she was not so cold even though her hands felt frozen. Unknowingly Haikal grasped Kirana's right hand just as tightly as they walked towards Balmain Point.

Kirana's heart almost surged as a result of Haikal's handrails.

The rest, he felt warm and comfortable.

He did not try to take off or hold Haikal's hand back.

Kirana fell silent, her cheeks blushing reddish, not even daring to look at her face.

All along walking while holding hands they were mute. All that was heard was the sound of several motor vehicles, as well as the sound of the humble beetle.

No more than fifteen minutes until they arrived in front of the restaurant that had just closed. Kirana takes Haikal to the kitchen through the back door. Haikal looked around the inside of his mother's restaurant.

Kirana makes drinks to unwind. Meanwhile, Haikal was in the center of the restaurant where the piano was. Haikal turned on the small lamp. He stroked the piano keys. Kirana came in with two cups of chocolate. Haikal thanked me. He blew the hot chocolate and screwed it.

“Since when did you learn piano?” haikal sat down on the piano.

“Maybe toddler.” Kirana's signal slowly.

Haikal raised an eyebrow as if in disbelief.

“Can you teach me a little?” haikal Pinta. Kirana smiled as she put her hot chocolate on the piano.

Haikal shifted his seat giving Kirana a place. Kirana incised the basic notes and asked Haikal to repeat.

“It's name tuts ebony,” Kirana pointed white keys. “And this is ivory,” he massage black keys. Haikal.

“Tuts-tuts in piano showing human love life. Where when someone experiences a bad love story, then he will get twice as good as the previous love story. For that black keys interrupted by two white keys. That is, no love life is forever bad. Because in the future there will be a sacred period, a time of return of true love.” Kirana.

Haikal read with admiration the philosophy Kirana expressed about the piano.

Kirana then pinched a few notes that produced a song and then followed Haikal with one hand. They laughed together at Haikal's disheveled song. Kirana teaches twinkle-twinkle little star song.

Then, suddenly Haikal saw Kirana's face there was a shadow of Kezia's figure then changed back with Kirana's smile where the atmosphere and what Haikal felt was the same as when he had a dream some time ago.

Haikal's left hand trembled, until the cup containing the hot chocolate fell until it broke. Kirana stopped the game. Haikal got up, aware that he was in real condition. He was sweating a little and looked nervous.

“What's up?” kirana asked in surprise, she immediately cleaned the shards of cups near Haikal's feet.

“Ah, sorry. I gotta get back. Maybe the tow truck came. I go first yes.” Haikal left in a hurry.

Kirana looked at him in wonder.

It turned out that the tow truck had come and had been looking for Haikal.

Haikal had to go home in a taxi, because his car could only be repaired tomorrow morning.

Arriving at home, he felt very tired. He was still thinking about his vision earlier, why was the shadow in the dream suddenly present there?

***

Kirana felt completely in love with Haikal, though she did not dare to reveal it. He was too embarrassed to see himself as a nobody while the man was the son of the boss of the restaurant where he worked. He thought, he was only able to keep that feeling deep in silence. He was too self-aware not to fantasize like Cinderella.

Kirana was happy to have the chance with Haikal for just a moment.

Haikal was increasingly unable to control his thoughts and feelings. Why did he remember Kezia's shadow on Kirana? What really happened to him? maybe it was a sign from Kezia that he should not forget her, that he should still love Kezia and should not see another girl, Haikal thought.

Haikalpun began to remember fond memories with his late fiancee, but suddenly what was seen was Kirana's smile. The smile Haikal always looked forward to.

He opened his eyes and reflected. Looks like he's starting to go insane, inner Haikal. He should stay away from Kirana as much as possible and reduce face to face with her.

Tomorrow afternoon, Niko's piano lessons are as usual. Kirana came on time and finished the same jam. From that moment on, Haikal locked himself in a room. He was trying to avoid Kirana. He was pacing around in the room, agitated. Leaning peeked at the living room from behind the door of her room, stealing Kirana's gaze from a distance. Dukk!!

“Auch!!” haikal shouted in pain. He holds the jidat. “Klock the door first donk!” nagelnya.

“So brother see already open the door. Why are you behind the door like a gini? What's wrong?” said Neny came in with a cup of tea and fried bananas. His turn grumbled because he was told to bring tea and snacks to his sister's room.

“Who is also looking. Again really hinge door coke,” Haikal reasoned. However, Neny did not press. He put a tray on the table.

“You from earlier why did not go out of the room? Kayak king aja snack usherin to room.”

Haikal did not answer. He immediately kicked the brother out of the room. Neny footsteps irritated by his sister's attitude. Haikal stroking chest, relieved.

He hoped that Kirana who was in the family room heard the small commotion earlier. It would be strange if he was in the house but not just greeting piano teacher Niko.

***

After a few days Haikal did not meet Kirana, when the schedule for piano lessons arrived, he chose to go out of the house with various reasons to Anna and Neny. At that time, Haikal will go to a private apartment, visit a boutique bude Kerani or to the office even though not overtime.

He tried to find as much busyness as possible, in order to spend time so that he did not daydream and keep thinking of the figure of Kirana.

But his heart was getting more agitated. He felt that something was missing in him after a week of not seeing Kirana.

Could it be that he started falling in love with the mute girl? could it be that he misses the figure of Niko's teacher? the inner war continued to flare in Haikal's mind. He ruffled his hair, increasingly frustrated. Even secretly apparently Haikal has learned sign language through the internet in order to understand Kirana's chat.

Use her fingers to interpret the words that are often spoken by the girl. During this time Haikal felt very comfortable and close to Kirana, even though since the incident four years ago, he was always uncomfortable with women who were always chasing him. It was as if Haikal had rejected the presence of another figure after Kezia's death.
