"Kejora? Hey?"
Daddy's?
I opened my eyes, looked up, and was a little relieved that Daddy was in front of me, he held my shoulder and helped me stand up. "Why?"
"Riko, Daddy. He, he's in front. I'm scared...."
Daddy looked out through the window, but nil, there was no one. "You sure? There's no one in front."
"Related. That was Riko."
"Kejora, maybe you've seen it wrong."
"Cannot be. He pressed the bell, so I'm ahead."
"You sure? Maybe you're too worried. That's why you-"
"Daddy accuses me of hallucinations? Da? Daddy thinks I'm crazy?" I shook my head, disappointed that he didn't believe me. "Excession! I'm still sane!"
"It's not so, dear." He grabbed me, kissed me on my forehead and stroked my back. "Quiet," he said. "Later I check the CCTV, yeah. Now you get dressed, okay?"
But I was crying. It's outrageous, I thought. That young man could have terrorized me inside the house. "Don't stay away from me, please?"
Daddy understands. "Yes," he said. "Come on." He took me upstairs to my room and told me to get dressed while he opened his laptop and accessed the CCTV footage.
I was just wearing a flower dress when Daddy clenched his hands. I didn't need to look at the CCTV footage to convince myself that I didn't see it wrong or that I wasn't hallucinating.
"Yes," muttered Daddy. "What does that mean? There's no way he didn't know I was inside."
"Let's go to his house. Let's go see his mama. Now you dance, all of us to the supermarket."
I'm shaking. I don't want to go. I was afraid the young man was following me and haunting my thoughts. "Can't we just report it to the police?"
"We don't have hard evidence to report it. He can deny that he came to see you or something. If we report, our report will be accepted, but that doesn't mean he will be detained. He would not have acknowledged his true purpose."
Argha!
"Then what? I should just shut up? Letting that intruder ruin my mind? Looking at him in front of my face like that could make me think that he could just walk into this house. He was in my room, smothering me, dragging me somewhere. I'm scared!" my roar, I spoke in a high tone, clearly riled up.
Daddy looked pityfully at me, then let out a trembling breath. "Have you?" Then he stood up, came up to me and buried me in his chest. "Please, don't make me feel useless, Keen," Daddy pleaded. "please don't. I can't stand to see you scared like this."
God, I obviously hurt his heart. My fear must have made him feel torn and slapped by the bad memories of the past.
"I'm sorry," I said.
"I'm sorry too. I'll keep sticking to you so you'll always feel safe."
"Yes, I need that. I need you to always be in front of my eyes. I promise I will be stronger. I promise."
"Should. My son is a strong woman. Trust me, for God's sake I won't let that young man touch you. It won't."
Yeah, I believe. Daddy must have always protected me. Calm, Kejora, quiet. Just a few more days. We're gonna get away from here.
"Later on I'll find someone to stand guard in front of, yeah, so you're calmer. Riko won't be able to get in here anymore. He won't be able to touch you."
