CHAPTER 52: A Pair of Climbers

Ryan glanced at his watch "Vi, it's been 15 minutes since Delia and Aura went down the mountain. Let's go now" said Ryan.

"Yes, sister" said Livi and first hugged Lovely. "I'm first, Lovely. You be careful later"

"Yes. You're careful too, Livi" Lovely said.

Livi goes down the mountain with Ryan. Stay Lovely with Jay at the top. This is Lovely's second time alone with Jay. Previously, Lovely had been in Jay's bonceng with his motorcycle, making Jo angry.

Jay shifted her seat closer to Lovely.

"If you knew we were both down. How about we go down the four of us with Livi and Ryan? We're after them, they're not that far away. You want Neng?" ask Jay.

"Sir papa. We'll come down later. According to the rules. 15 more minutes" Lovely said.

Jay suddenly remembers the flowers he got during Mark's engagement. If he's currently paired with Lovely. And now it's just the two of you with the girl. Did all this have anything to do with Mark's engagement flowers back then?! What else is the universe conspiring?

15 Minutes passed. Jay's carrying his backpack. "It's been 15 minutes. Come on Lovely, we're going down the mountain now"

"Yes" Lovely immediately carried her backpack as well.

Jay walk first. "Don't go all the way behind Aa ya Neng! Aa should have held your hand. But Aa promised 'your lover' not to touch you!"

Hearing that, Lovely just kept quiet. He understands that Jay must be pissed at Jo. Jay started to step up. Sometimes he looks back to make sure that Lovely is behind him. Jay was afraid Lovely was falling far behind him.

Exactly at 12 noon. Delia and Aura arrive at post 4. Delia suddenly thought that Livi and Ryan were behind her. What if the direction of the arrow in post 4 he just change the direction so that Livi and Ryan get lost?!

Ken's gonna be pissed off if Livi goes missing with Ryan! It's gonna be so much fun! Livi has taken too much of Ken's attention! Even Ken would have hurt Delia if Ken only tasted for girls like Livi! Ken just thinks Delia's a wreck! Until now Delia will never forget that!

"Hour 12 noon. We pray dhuhur first yuk?!" take Aura to Delia.

"I didn't bring you Sis. Aura only prayed. I'm waiting here" said Delia.

"Yes already" Aura immediately performed the dhuhur prayer. While Delia idly changed the direction of the arrow in post 4!

30 Minutes later, Livi and Ryan reached Post 4. Ryan prayed first while Livi tried to call Ken but there was no signal. After the dhuhur prayer Ryan invited Livi to lunch with the provisions they brought.

"Let 3 more posts. Are you tired Vi?" ask Ryan.

"No, I'm still strong! I am a strong woman!" livi replied and then glanced spoiled at Ryan.

Ryan smiled as he looked at Livi. Livi was also pounding. Ken's best friend is really sweet! Uwwu is like yupi candy!

After lunch, Livi and Ryan continued their journey westward! Without them knowing the direction of the arrow had been changed by Delia! They should have continued their journey eastward!

An hour later the path Livi was walking along with Ryan became even darker! The trees there are so close that they are impenetrable to sunlight. Ryan started to feel like something was wrong!

"Stop first Vi! It's weird!" said Ryan.

"How weird is it, brother?" livi.

"The road is getting darker! The trees are getting closer! Not a sun at all! It's been an hour since leaving post 4! We should have reached post 5 by now! Try to remember Vi! When we went up the mountain yesterday the atmosphere wasn't this bad!"

"But it was in the 4-way post that his arrow was pointing west right?!"

"Yes anyway. I also saw the compass"

"Where is Ryan's sister!" livi's face paled!

Ryan tried to open Google to look for clues. But there's no signal!

"Where are you?! Are we going back to post 4 again?! Or do we continue west?" Ryan's confused.

"Mending us back to post 4 Vi. Maybe we'll see Lovely and Jay on the road"

Ryan's trying to turn around heading back to post 4. But he and Livi are getting further and further into the woods! The atmosphere is getting darker too! There was lightning! The rain began to fall.

"Wine! Looks like we lost Vi!" ryan said frantically as he glanced at his watch. It's showing at 5pm!

"Where is Ryan's sister! We should've reached post 1 and got together with friends!" Livi panicked too.

"I'm not afraid of getting lost! Thing isyou! I don't want anything to happen to you Vi!" said Ryan.

"I don't want anything to happen to Ryan either!" livi.

Ryan's heart was shaking! She looked gently at Livi then rubbed Livi's hair.

Ryan pulled Livi's hand to sit both on the ground. "We'll rest Vi. If you force the road will also be more lost"

"Udah wants Maghrib Brother Ryan. Surely the others are worried we haven't reached post 1"

"Yes, according to Om Daryadi we should have reached the foot of the mountain at around 5 this afternoon. Jay and Lovely until half-time 6. Then we all go back to Jakarta. If it happened this way. We're gonna have to stay here tonight"

The rain is falling more and more! "The rain is growing Vi! Let's find some shelter!" Ryan clasped Livi's hand and carried her running around in the woods. Livi let her hand held tightly by Ryan. It was very dark and it was raining. Danger if they get separated!

Eventually Livi and Ryan arrive at an old, rickety hut. There was a small river flowing down the right side of the hut. Ryan and Livi are soaking wet from the rain.

Ryan blamed his HP flashlight.

"It's so dirty" Livi complained.

"It seems like it hasn't been used for a long time. Maybe it used to be a farmer or a woodcutter" Ryan said.

Ryan opened his backpack and took out his shirt and holster. "We're soaking wet Vi. Change clothes first! I want to pray first" said Ryan and then just took off his wet clothes.

Livi felt her face hot and immediately threw away her face! In the dark Ryan's body seemed to glow!

While Ryan runs Maghrib prayers.

Livi got changed behind Ryan. After the Maghrib prayer Ryan lit a bonfire. Her scabbard was laid out on the floor of the hut.

"Come Vi. We're both just sitting on these sarongs" Ryan said.

"Yes Brother" Livi and Ryan sat together on a sarong "It's 7 p.m. Everyone must be worried especially Ken" said Livi.

But there is no Ken at the moment! There's only Ken's best friend, Ryan!
