Breakthroughs (09:30)
One, two, three, .. six, seven! For seven days he followed me like a tail wherever and whenever I was. From monday to Monday. Sunday is not included. The seventh count came in on Monday. Every morning the tall guy walks in between me, Timmy, and Hami. Help me drive out Timmy fans who flocked to class and switch. I don't need his help at all. Didn't he also know that they would all be frightened if they faced me. So he didn't have to bother about it.
Every hour of rest, he never played ball with boys on the field (when most hordes of guys ips will always play ball with hordes of ipa guys there, from level one to three), and the, but he would rather hang out with me and my two friends sitting under a tree and watching a basketball game not far from the court.
Besides, he always spoke aloud out of nowhere at first. His dose of fussiness exceeded that of Hami who often talked about the latest teenlit novels and his style of narcissism was higher than Timmy's levels. He's like a mix between Hami and Timmy. It was as if he was facing the fussiness and double Hammy-Timmy's stringency. Because of his existence that stung me suddenly, I often had nightmares.
I don't know why every existence scares me more than anything. Not the inferiority I felt when I met him, but more like the fear of being with him.
“We pesen what?” asked Timmy with a carefree face. He's always been that lame. His face always shows cheerfulness and gives happiness to the people around him.
No story ‘Timmy hated everyone’ but ‘Timmy loved everyone’. Sometimes I envy her existence. Maybe our destiny is different. The carefree Timmy can never be juxtaposed with the quiet and scary Afika. I've realized. I realized it too much when Timmy was around me.
“I don't have appetite. I pesen iced tea ajah deh kayak you,” said Hami later. I ordered the same drink plus a meatball menu. While Miwon, the cersis guy (carrulous and narcissistic) ordered
meatballs and a glass of water.
He added that there is no healthier drink than water. Very putty. The term who is used carelessly. I bet, surely he keeps a lot of canned soda in his house, hohoho.
“I just found out that Afika was smiling, the corner of her right lip was always sticking up,” my daydream came to a realization. Apparently Miwon was watching me with both hands on his cheeks. May my face not be as red as I thought.
“I don't smile,” my pretext.
“Your face is flushed again,” he said with a laugh. Now I'm getting embarrassed. I just realized that Hami and Timmy are gone. My head looked to the left and right looking for their whereabouts. Maybe I'll catch up with them instead of dealing with this scary guy. “Already, just relax. They are again pesen. Patience waiting for the end, beb,” he said again.
Crazy, he can read my mind. His look made me groggy. I decided to go back to the left and right, hoping that Timmy and Hami would return quickly. Both of my eyes immediately opened when I saw Edelweis and his three friends walking into the cafeteria.
Well, Edelweis would want to eat and look for benches too. While the empty table is just one, right behind me. That means he must have walked right past me. Duh, no more accost? What if he doesn't hear my voice anymore? Well, he actually walked here again! Afika, lets, stand up!
“Hai, Ed! Want to eat ya?” I gave it my all to greet him. My eyes narrowed next to her, waiting for her reaction. But Edelweis kept walking past me. I saw Mayang, Wildam, and Tara glancing at me with a cynical smile. Maybe it's just my feeling. I tried to calm down and sat back down. He doesn't seem to hear my voice anymore. The next time, I had to call him harder.
“Who is he? Are you dicuekin it?” asked Miwon while frowning.
“Friend only. Not dicuekin. But I didn't hear.”
“Your voice has been tight. There's no way he didn't hear. Try me to talk to him,” I immediately jerked when Miwon started to move and walked closer to Ed's bench. Hiyaa, seriously! What the hell does he want??!!!
“Hoi, bro. You are so cute, aren't you?! Are you really deaf? Until a girl as pretty as her you're cuekin. Heh?” he nodded while pointing at me.
Crazy one! Everyone including his three friends gave a piercing look at me. While Edelweis who just put the phone into his pocket, immediately stood face to face with Miwon. I don't know what to do. Timmy and Hami also walked half a run carrying trays filled with meatballs and other drinks.
“Miwon why, Fik?” ask Timmy curious. Hami nodded.
“I don't know.”
They both look at each other. Wildam stood up to take Edelweis away. I saw Miwon's expression go blank. And so did Edelweis. Shortly afterwards Edelweis left with his three friends. Edelweis just walked right past me. I saw Miwon who was still glued to me
place of. What the hell is it?
“Afika,” I turned around. Apparently Mayang came back to see me. “The problem is Ed, my business too. Back to home, I wait in the room,” he explained. Then Mayang left with a fierce look at me.
“Fik, are you okay?” asked Hami with a worried face. I turned my head at them both. I know that Mayang would say that.

Mading Room ‘No entry! Without Permission from Member’
“Part of literature page given to whom earlier?” as Edelweis asked while cutting out some colored images that had just been printed. As the head of mading, Edelweis was always disciplined in arranging the deadline for collecting tasks that had been given to each member. He also often helps his members if there are difficulties in working on articles and source searches.
Similarly, Mayang as a vice mading always record what is needed by the chairman. He was meticulous in recording even the most detailed things. All tasks are always successful to coincide with the deadline. Therefore, Edelweis believed in him very much.
“Niah and Gama. Oh yes, Hami sent a message to me, he said he was still confused looking for the source. I told him to come back here. Directly ask to you.”
“What part?”
“Oh, yes already. Easy-going.”
Edelweis was still concentrating on staring at the picture paper that had just been cut. While Mayang still helps Tara search for unique news on the internet. Mayang and Tara were in the same class as Edelweis from first grade. The four of them including Wildam decided to enter the same IPA and eskul classes. It adds to their closeness. Everywhere there are four.
A group mixed into a team. Mixing between Edelweis (Mr. Cool) with all its perfection like a calm character without much talk, Wildam (Mr. Nerdy Bookworms) who always read endless books, Mayang (Ms. Walking Memory) always remembers easily what the teacher has explained or what he just read, and Tara (Ms. Popular) who has a cute and smart twin brother ‘si Wildam’, a life that is all luxurious, always invite his party friends every Sunday night, and change girlfriends every two weeks. One team that always get a diluted brained label with the excellence of achievement they have got in every field whatsoever.
“Hoahem, I continue myself later deh, May,” cried Tara while yawning wide. But Mayang still seriously browsing. ‘Gotts is also him,’ thought Tara. Then turned the hydraulic chair he sat back and looked at Edelweis who was still serious about choosing a picture according to the theme. “Ed, who was that afternoon? How come I never saw it?”
“Hmm... who?” edelweis asked still concentrating on the image he was holding. Tara immediately sat on the carpet with a foot-slab to throw some picture paper collected by Edelweis. “Hey, be careful dong! Ntar a lot is missing!” then shouted. Tara laughed even more.
“Tara.. don't disturb Ed dong,” Mayang began not to concentrate anymore because of the laughter of his friend who bland. He picked up a horizon magazine on the shelf and read it on the sofa chair. Tara peels her tongue no matter what. ‘Basic, the Tara!’ pissed off. Tara began nudging Edelweis who was still concerned with the picture in front of him.
“Deuh, seriously amit anyway, chief. That's tuh... cute guy who yelled at you in the canteen.”
JLB! The concentration of Edelweis immediately split and the pieces felt piercing in his heart. How should he answer? Even if he knew her, would it really have to be said to his friend? But he still hesitated to answer. His clumsy-looking face began to read.
“You why the hell? Stomach pain?” tara asked as she frowned. Edelweis shook his head quickly. He chose not to answer and went on to compile the picture in the article. “So, what's his nameaa??” whining.
“Ehmm, sorry I'm a little late,” Hami entered the mading room in a panic. He took off his shoes and immediately sat down beside Edelweis. “Sorry, Ed. I'm still confused looking for the source.”
Edelweis looked briefly.
“Oh, you. Try to find students who excel in non-academic fields. It's up to you who,”
Hami was confused. ‘Who yes? I don't know,’ thought.
“Actually you can't? Hence a lot of socialization dong,” said Mayang sharply. Hami's getting restless. “I'm just kidding,” Mayang continued with a cynical smile. Tara laughed giggling. Hami looked down more and more.
“Ya. Ntar I tell you if there is a suitable yes, Mi.” said Edelweis who still attached the picture in the article. Mayang nodded his head slowly.
“Oh yes, someone wanted to see you. I forgot! He was waiting outside!” yelled Hami while patting the jidat. Edelweis looked again.
“Who? What is it gonna take?”
“My classmates, Miwon. Said important.”
Hearing the name, Edelweis immediately stood up and walked towards the door. Before pulling the doorknob, take a deep breath. Then step out with a straight body. Mayang, Tara, and Hami saw her confused.
“Hey, Miwon who?” asked Mayang ketus on the glasses girl who was still clumsy in front of him. Tara is also very curious about the name of the guy who makes Edelweis look serious. Hami fixed his thick glasses.
“Anu, that. He's been hanging out with me, Afika, and Timmy. His son was very nice to chat with.”
Tara immediately jumped in shock.
“Cowok who made noise in the canteen earlier right?” Hami nodded his head in confusion. ‘The other girl is fierce and the other one is weird,’ thought. “Ceritain dong, all about him! Hami, I feel fall in love at first sight!” shouts splashy. Mayang and Hami shook their heads in surprise.
While the buzzing is happening at the front door of the mading. Edelweis, who had found Miwon sitting on the steps near the door, now felt clumsy in the silent atmosphere created by Miwon a few minutes ago.
“Have heard that I'm back here again?” Miwon started to open the conversation. Edelweis is still silent. “Why not look for me?” ask again. Edelweiss remained silent. Miwon couldn't stand his inertia. The collar of Edelweis was strong.
“Hey, man. Calm down!” edelweis exclaimed with narrowed eyes. Then the view of both implies something that is not easy to translate. Like there's something tucked in some kind of longing. Water ripples started to come out at the corner of Miwon's eyes. The rough removal of Edelweis's collar. “You should respect me properly,” sizzle Edelweis sharply. Miwon retreated his steps while taking a deep breath. He looked at the taller guy a few inches ahead of him.
“It's clear that you still can't accept me.”
“Because you are still defending him!” edelweis fast. Miwon widened. Edelweis chose to stop the debate and was about to turn back into the mading room.
“In addition, I now know that you are becoming a very selfish person. She, that girl, is greeting you! Change your attitude even better. If you see it more clearly, he is very similar to someone we both care about.”
Edelweiss. But Miwon had left her alone.
