Eps. 14

The doctor just came out to check on Papa, quickly approached by all of us.

"How's our dad doing, doc?" ask Shaina in fluent English

"Your father must immediately get treatment, surgical removal of the bleeding fluid in his head because it will enter the brain." replied the Doctor gave an explanation

"Do it as soon as possible doctor." said Alif, the son-in-law who was also very worried about Papa

"Well, you guys do the administration first and sign the agreement first." replied the doctor gave instructions

Umi who was so limp, no longer able to support herself, her legs as if there was no energy to stand. Shaina and Nisa who were holding Umi earlier immediately helped to sit back down.

"Umi. we agree with this doctor's actions, yes." Shaina said gently to Umi.

Umi just nodded slowly, unable to speak anymore.

Alif then went to the administration with Arkana.

Half an hour has passed, the operating room is ready, the administration is done. Now Papa was taken by 2 nurses to enter the operating room.

Umi held Papa's hand which was to be moved.

"You must be strong Pa.. Here there are Arkana, Nisa, Alif and Shaina who are also waiting for you." said Umi slowly in Papa's ear

"Excuse me ma'am, we need to get this patient right away." said the nurse, asking permission to return to bring Papa

Papa's been in the operating room. Umi, Nisa, Arkana, Shaina and Alif are waiting in front of the operating room that is not visible from the outside. Everyone felt an incredible amount of anxiety.

This is the first time Papa has been in such an extraordinary accident.

The operation lasted 1 hour. The doctor just came out of the operating room. Alif quickly approached.

"How's doc? How's my father-in-law doing?" ask Alif quickly

The doctor made a big smile on his face

"Thankfully, the operation went well and it all worked out. Now it's just waiting for recovery first." replied Doctor Smith who handles Papa

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief hearing all this. The overwhelming anxiety from earlier, disappeared instantly.

"Your father will be taken care of, and you can meet later in the ward." said a nurse

Everyone nodded in understanding with the nurse's intention.

"We went to the cafeteria first yuu, me and Alif had not had any breakfast since then." Shaina told Umi and Nisa

"Alright." replied Umi limply

I spent 15 minutes in the cafeteria. The unappetizing Umi just finished a sandwich made by Nisa, and drank a warm sweet tea. Likewise with Shaina and Alif, both did not feel good eating, they only ate the vegetable salad they ordered.

Nisa, Arkana, Shaina, Alif and Umi walk together back to the nursery where Papa is lying weak.

The doctor called a family representative to inform Papa of his condition.

Shaina and Alif are her representatives, while Nisa, Arkana and Umi are still sitting in front of the ward because they are still not allowed.

Arriving in the Doctor's room, Shaina and Alif are welcome to enter, the Doctor is already sitting waiting.

"Excuse me Doctor." said Alif politely

"Please sit down." said Dr. Smith graciously sat in the chair in front of the doctor

"How is our father?" shaina asked in a hurry because she was very curious.

"The fluid and bleeding in his brain was already removed, no longer there at all" said Dr. Smith explained while showing the results of a photo of the rungent head Papa on his computer screen

"Then doc?" alif asked curiously

"Is my father going to recover soon?" shaina asked impatiently

"Most likely not, just a little likely to return to healthy and normal life as usual." replied dr. Smith was careful

"meaning? How's it?" shaina asked so angrily

"Your father has reached the age of 69, meaning that he is no longer young. Same case with 19-year-old children, but different results." said Dr. Smith tried to explain it well

"It means that a body that is not young anymore will be difficult to accept this. If your father is still given a long life by God, it will definitely live differently than before, if your father's body is not strong enough to hold back again that means you will lose him.." continued dr. Smith is long

"Then? what does it mean that our father will most likely die?" shaina asked with tears piled up in her eyes

"I'm sorry, I explained it like this for fear of misunderstanding your family... So I explained this all at the beginning" said Dr. Smith

"Yes Doctor.. Thank you very much for everything the doctor has done for our father." said Alif in a soft voice

The doctor just nods his head, while Shaina starts to shed her tears.

"Then we excuse you doc." said Alif saying goodbye while holding his wife's shoulder

After leaving the room, Dr. Smith, Alif saw Shaina his wife was constantly shedding tears, which unceasingly, not a word came out of Shaina's mouth.

"Darling, please stop the crying.. We go back to Umi, don't let Umi know.." Said Alif trying to invite his wife to hide all that

"I can't hear everything that happened to my father, the king of my life!" shaina replied while trying to stop her crying

"I understand very well." said Alif then hugged his wife's body tightly

Nisa, Arkana and Umi are welcome inside. So happy Umi can again hold the hand of her soulmate again, even though she has not been conscious.

"Darling... Here is your grandson, your hero.come on wake up.." said Umi with a bitter tone.

Nisa tries to calm Umi down. Nisa always beside Umi, while stroking the shoulders of Umi which she embraced.

"Opaaa.. Come on, get up, get well soon.. Arka here wants to play again the same opa.." said Arkana innocently while holding the Opanya hand

But there was no answer from Papa, his body looked so stiff, there was no movement.

Nisa, Umi and Arkana decided to pray dzuhur bersama'ah in Papa's nursery and pray Papa together. While Nisa, Umi and Arkana were holding their hands to pray, Shaina and Alif went inside.

Before long, Papa moved his fingers slowly, then Papa opened his eyes slowly.

"Umi Umi's.. Papa is aware." said Shaina with great joy

Umi, Nisa and Arkana who are still sitting on the seat immediately woke up in a hurry and approached Papa.

"Father." said Shaina with tears of joy

"Opaaa.." said Arkana happily.

Papa opened his eyes and looked at the people around him.

"Darling, are you okay?" said Umi with tears on her cheeks

"I just feel a little dizzy.. What the hell is going on with me?" replied Papa by turning around to ask

Then Umi told him everything that had happened. Papa was silent, not saying a word.

"I'm so happy, you guys are so considerate of me." said Papa when he saw his daughter-in-law, Nisa, Alif and Arkana were beside him

All just nod

"I want to pray, it's past dzuhur time isn't it?" papa said when he saw the wall clock that was right in front of him

Umi petrified for Papa tayamum, then dzuhur prayer. Everyone is waiting and sitting on the sofa.

Before long the prayer was over. Papa calls Nisa, Arkana, Alif and Shaina to get closer to him.

"Shaina my son." said Papa weakly

"Yes Paaa.. Papa wants to eat? or want a drink?" shaina answered and asked what her father wanted

"Papa Nisa and Arkana.. Love them like you love your late brother." said Papa stammeringly, laboriously

"Yes Pa, Shaina will definitely continue to love them.. Sister Nisa is still my sister-in-law, what else is Arkana, she is my niece until anytime." replied Shaina while holding her Papa's hand

"Yeah.thank you.. For all of you who get along with her life, take care of Umi and always love Umi." said Papa again as if advised

"Sure Paaa.. We love Umi and Papa very much" Alif replied and held Papa's very cold hand

"You're healing fast, your grandson here wants to play again with you." said Umi while holding Papa's shoulder

"God willing, we will play again." replied Papa while looking at his grandson

"Oh yes, my property is not much.. I hope Nisa and Arkana can get a little bit of my treasure when I'm no longer there later." said Papa while holding the hands of Nisa and Arkana who both hold Papa's hand

"Don't worry about that.. Just focus on your recovery" Umi replied quickly

"Yes Pa.. Papa has to heal." said Nisa with tears that wet her cheeks

"I'm not strong anymore, this breath is so heavy." said Papa with difficulty, then called the shahadah, before long the eyes were closed again.

"Papa.." cried out to everyone in it

Alif quickly pressed the emergency button to call the doctor, shortly after dr. Smith came with 2 nurses.

All the families that are there, back away because Papa will be examined.

"I'm sorry to say with a heavy heart, Mr. John is no more." said Dr. Smith

Break the cries of all those who wait for Papa's recovery. Umi can no longer cry, because since crying continues, now she looks so strong. Umi approached Papa who was now stiffened.

"Now you will no longer feel pain, wait for me in eternity there." said Umi with a smile that looks forced

The funeral was all handled by Alif. By the time Ashar arrived, Papa was already buried. Everyone's back home. Umi clearly looks so tough, while Shaina is so hard-earned to hold back her tears.

"I'm this small to be left behind by the people I love.. Yesterday Grandpa, now Opa.. I've been orphaned from a baby." Arkana said in tears

Nisa who heard the words from her son's mouth could not help but cry, Nisa was unable to speak, she then hugged her son so tightly.
