Fantasy Star Online's
4. The Town Of Beginning

After going through several stages such as; account creation and the compilation of appearances of his characters, Ryzen—the name of the characters played in Fantasy Star—found himself on a city street, precisely near a fountain that is usually a place visited by many people and is located in the middle of the city.

Ryzen saw many armed men and looked like hunters, knights, adventurers, and others. Then he looked around, saw the beauty of the city in the virtual world for the first time, felt the air touching the skin make him feel cool, then he did some movements like stretching and hitting the air.

People immediately saw him when Ryzen did this, some were smiling and laughing, some were disgusted.

"Look, looks like that guy's a new player."

"What did that guy do? Is this his first time playing a virtual game?"

"It looks like he's going to be a burden in a team party, ew."

Ryzen paid no heed to the people's words, and realized that something resembling a green ball was floating above the people's heads.

"Hmm, what's a player's cursor?"

That green ball referred to as the "player's cursor" or "player's cursor" serves as a marker, that the person is a player, and with that cursor, the player's, it will be easier to distinguish between players with NPC or Non Player Character— characters that have been tuned and have their own scripts to do things.

Ryzen turned his head up, finding his same cursor as the other players, floating above his head.

"Then, check the status...."

A transparent panel appears when Ryzen swipes the empty air in front of him, displaying a list of buttons starting from; Character, Inventory, Quest, Social, and Setting.

Ryzen pressed the top button, the Character. After pressing it, a new panel with three button options; Stats, Title, and Skill, appeared in empty air. Again, he pressed the top button, Status, and then the panel changed its appearance.

———

Name: Ryzen

Level: 0

Guild: —

SP: 0

STR 3, AGI 3, INT 6, VIT 2, LUCK 4

———

The panel displays a statistic of Ryzen character data. Of all that is displayed, it is familiar for him to see the identity and power data in the status panel of an RPG game. What caught his attention was the status named 'Karma' which is located at the bottom of the panel, the status itself has a parameter that has two color variants namely red and blue, namely, it is bounded by a white line with the number 0 in the middle.

"Karma status, only this time I saw it. If this is related to the meaning of the word karma, maybe this status serves as a measure of character traits?" Ryzen Gumam.

After trying to research it again, he found a question mark-shaped icon at the end of that karmic status. Ryzen presses him, then a small panel appears that explains the karma.

The explanation of the status turned out to be the same as what Ryzen had thought before. Karma here serves as a measure of good or evil of a character, Ryzen has zero karma, so his character is included in the neutral group.

"Ah, so."

Ryzen closed all the visible panels, then went back to inspect the body and the equipment. He only wears a garment made of thin cloth, as well as wearing chest armor and shoes made of leather.

"Yaa. the name is also equipment for beginners, what I expect," Ryzen said while scratching his head that does not itch.

Ryzen walked around without knowing what to do, and when he checked his inventory, he decided to go to the gun shop first.

"I really don't know what to do first, there's no quest and no storyline" Ryzen lamented.

His experience of playing in a game with different mechanisms than usual, really makes him confused about what to do. Ryzen says something like a storyline or storyline of a game, which is usually found in RPG games. However, this time it is very different, in Fantasy Star, there is no prologue storyline or initial quest that usually immediately appears when starting to play RPG games.

Therefore, he did not know what to do, which his head could think of just for adventure and immediately to hunt monsters, so he decided to go to the weapon shop first.

Ryzen had reached the other weapon shop, it was quieter than the first store he went to, there were only one or two people who visited this store. Ryzen enters the store and starts looking for a weapon suitable for him.

"The weight is just right, but the sharpness of the blade seems to have been a bit dull" Ryzen said as he examined the quality of a sword forged from silver.

"No, wait, I don't think it's a blunt matter or not a gun. The origin of the damage is great, who cares about the dullness of a sword? I'll try to check the details" Ryzen murmured.

As he had read from the guidebook, a way to examine the data of an object, that is, simply by focusing on the item to be examined. Ryzen did so, and a transparent panel of the sword appeared.

———

Iron Sword's

Damage 20 ~ 25

Durability: 23/100

———

Ryzen almost spouted water from his mouth when he saw the sword data in his hand that, incomparably, the durability of the sword was very low.

"That explains why the sword is a bit dull and it's jagged like this" Ryzen said, coughing, then put the weapon back on.

Speaking of durability or other words is durability, as the name suggests, the word is used to measure qualities such as the sharpness and durability of a weapon, the higher the points, the higher the level, the attack given is getting higher. Conversely, the lower the durability points, the lower the attack.

"With this durability, the damage given may only be half of it, why do they sell weapons that have been damaged? no one will buy it" Ryzen murmured.

Ryzen continued to search for weapons, while he was examining other sword weapons. Someone entered the shop and took out the broken sword that he said, no one would want to buy the sword.

"Hmm, this sword is the same."

"Hey, you!"

Just as Ryzen was about to put the sword down, a high-pitched exclamation sounded. He paused for a moment and tried to inspect the surroundings, there was already no one in the store other than him and a female player standing in front of the cash register.

"If you think the voice was to call someone else, then you're wrong" the player said.

"So you called me?" ryzen asked as he pointed to himself.

"Of course, who else? there is no one else here, other than me and you," the player replied with a waistline.

"What business is it?" ask Ryzen again.

"If you don't buy that sword in your hand, here, give it to me."

"Why? this sword is blunt and broken, just like the sword you took," Ryzen said, glancing at the sword stored on the cashier's desk.

"God! Because I'm a blacksmith!" say the player loudly and proudly.

Ryzen raised his eyebrows and said, "Certainly what if you're a blacksmith?"
