“Azmy ..” Mom screams from Azmy's room.
Ammar, Pakde Ghofur and Mr Salam were shocked to hear the screams. Those who were busy chatting on the terrace, immediately ran into Azmy's room.
“Why, Mom?” Ammar asked a little.
“A-your sister, Nak.” Answer mother lirih.
“Why Azmy?”
Mother was silent without a sound.
The curious Ammar panicked, trying to see his sister from a closer distance.
He checked his sister's heartbeat. There's no pulse.
He stuck his index finger into Azmy's nose. There's no gust of anything.
“Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi roji’un.” Ammar lowered his head followed by some tears that dripped on his sister's shirt.
Azmy's dead.
Her biological sister is gone.
Starting from father, now he must be left alone sister puppet.
Azmy was lying weakly on the bed, his whole body limp. Sweat was faintly visible on his forehead. His hands were cold to his feet. Face paled. His lips began to turn blue. He has left the world forever.
The angel of death did not greet him when he came to pick him up. Even to just signal his arrival to Ammar who was talking on the porch of the house was reluctant. There was no wind, no rain, nor the night conditions were very calm with star-studded skies.
Friday night, a very sacred night for some people, not least Ammar. The night Ammar had to dream of meeting his grandfather when he was sentenced to die. The night his beloved sister recovered from an accident. The night in which he had to part with his beloved father. The night where he had to sincerely left his only sister who he had. The night in which he had to part with two of his most beloved and beloved closest people. A sad night.
The sadness experienced by Ammar was mounting when he found out his sister was now gone. The two events of Friday night were a crushing blow to his mind. Of course, mother must have been more hit with this harsh reality. He almost fainted from shock if Ammar did not immediately soothe his cries.
Azmy left the mortal world with a fluffy smile on her lips. His face hinted that he was happy before his soul was removed from his body.
“Sing patient, Le.” Ghofur pacified Ammar as the son of his teacher.
Mr Ghofur went out to the terrace to meet his neighbors and other relatives and told him what was going on in Azmy's room. They were all shocked by what Pakde told them.
“It is better to immediately be buried do not have to procrastinate tomorrow.” Say Mr. Salam.
“Yes, it's still eight o'clock. The sky is also bright.” Answer the other neighbors.
“Alright, split task.” Mr Ghofur arranged the entire funeral procession. Starting from broadcasting the news of Azmy's death, bathing, pardoning, praying priests, to those in charge of burying.
Mr. Salam and other neighbours of Ammar prepared a place to bathe Azmy's body. Mr Ghofur went to his grandmother's house and other relatives. Lek Ipul broadcast the news of Azmy's death from musalla near the house to the village mosque.
Some people began to arrive at Azmy's house, not expecting the news of the grieving streak to occur. Most of them were shocked too. Just found out after the seventh day of the death of the father took place, now must be followed by new news of sadness.
“Why should it be this fast, Son?” Ask Ammar.
Ammar remained silent in his grief. He tries to stay strong.
Outside the house, several neighbors and relatives have prepared a procession of body baths. Ammar said to his mother in the room, he had to bathe his sister's body accompanied by Mr. Salam, Pakde Ghofur, and Lek Ipul. The shroud that Azmy was going to use was already prepared in her room.
Ammar looked at his brother closely. While pouring water, he looked at his sister's whole body that was clean without a single drop. Her tears broke when she saw her smiling sister's face. He and three others who bathed Azmy were in a long silence shortly after the last wash.
Azmy has finished being bathed, now he must be forgiven. Mother could not hold back her tears on the first bond. His tears spilled on the pure white shroud. Mom cried silently beside Azmy. He called out the name of his youngest son from the heart. Ammar who was next to the mother tried to ease the tears of the mother who kept dripping. Mother's eyes are getting puffy because most of them cry.
Ammar stroked his mother's shoulders. He was more compassionate when he saw the eyes of the mother who was getting red. The mother, who had just one week left behind by her husband who had accompanied her for more than twenty years, now had to give up herself to be left by the nearest person for the second time. Of course, people who have ordinary patience may have given up on the circumstances that have befallen him now.
The Prophet felt a deep sadness when he was left behind by two people he loved. Two men who always accompanied him in preaching, who always protected him from the pursuit of the infidels of Makkah. The two men were Siti Khadijah, his wife and Abu Talib, his uncle.
It is only fitting that the Prophet was saddened by his wife, Siti Khadijah. His wife gave up all her property for the benefit of Islam. Who is sincerely invited to live a simple life after marriage. She has always devoted herself to Islam and Muslims more than any woman.
His uncle, Abu Talib, was the one who had taken care of him after the death of his grandfather, Abdul Muttholib. He also protected him from the pagans of Makkah during his preachings before the migration to Medina. He was also the guardian when he married, and most unfortunate by him because in his lifetime, Abu Talib had never once uttered two sentences of the creed.
The chosen, best, leader of the Prophets and the Apostles alone felt a deep sadness when parting with his loved ones. Especially with ordinary people who do not have the nature of ma’shum[1] like him, whose patience level is very far from his patience level as well. They must have felt immeasurable sorrow because their love for the world was very different from the Prophet, although he was rebuked by God shortly afterwards for being too sad when the uncle and wife he loved left.
“Indeed the best choice when an ordeal from God is to surrender to what God has outlined since the time of Azali. The ordinance of Allah does not necessarily bring evil to His servants. Allah is Most Merciful. Allah is Most Fair. Allah is Most Merciful. Allah is Wise.” Ammar tried to comfort his mother with a quote from his father's speech first.
“God always gives the best for His servants who believe and fear Him. Who is always patient in the face of His trials. Every thing that God gives to his creatures must have its own wisdom and that is He alone knows it.”
Mother's cry slowly subsided, but it wasn't enough to stem the tears that kept flowing. Ammar could only encourage her mother while looking at her brother's peaceful face. She was also sad, but would be even more sad if she had to see her mother in such a way. He chose to delay the grief in order to give new hope to the mother.
