Tsauban and the Smile of the Prophet

Ammar seemed very excited to tell about who is Tsauban whose name until immortalized in the Koran. So did the village children, their eyes seemed to sparkle because soon they will know what great Tsauban to be able to make the Prophet smile.

Ammar opened the story,

“Tsauban is one of the companions of the Prophet, but Tsauban is known as Maula or the servant of the Prophet because of his love for him. Starting from a slave who upholds the love of the Prophet more than himself.”

“Wah, great. Loving others outweighs his love for self.” Rosa was amazed.

“Among the narrations that tell about Tsauban's love for the Prophet and temple expert is when asked by his master about how much his love for the Prophet, “For the sake of Allah, was, if my body is cut to pieces with the sword or scissors, or burned in the fire, Ahlulbait and friends[1].

“When Tsauban became a slave, he did not dare to leave the house without his master's permission. Be he only saw the Prophet from behind the window of the house because it was ordered by his master to guard the house. Until one day, he looks lazy to do the job. His master was astonished because this was something unnatural for Tsauban. He was asked “What makes you like this?”

He replied “Today I did not see the Prophet.”

That answer amazed his master.

“Will a servant like me be on par with the Messenger of Allah in heaven?” Tsauban.

The master was confused and replied “Tomorrow you participate in prayer duhur congregate with the Prophet.”

How happy Tsauban was. He can usually only see the Prophet from behind the door, tomorrow he can meet face to face with him. He thanked his master so much that he was tired of answering Tsauban's thanks. The day awaited also arrived. Tsauban could not wait to see the face of the Prophet directly. So happy, not a single word came out of his mouth except a thank you.

After the prayer, Mr. Tsauban took him to the first saf to meet the Prophet. His master conveyed the coming with Tsauban. His master told him to convey directly what the question mark was in his brain.

“O Prophet! I'm not sick, but I'm thinking that one day on the Day of Resurrection, I won't see you again when I go to hell, and if I go to heaven, I'll see you again, nor will I be able to be present in front of you because of the position and the lower degree that I have than you have, actually this problem has made me sad”. After asking that, Tsauban's feelings were suddenly relieved as if the large stone on his shoulder had disappeared.

After being relieved to ask, he even seemed more confused, it turned out that the Prophet sat down pensively because of his question. Tsauban was afraid to make the Prophet think. He saw the face of his master. His master simply smiled and shrugged both of his shoulders a sign of not knowing. A few minutes passed and the Prophet was still in a pensive state. Tsauban and his master were still waiting.

“Don't be afraid, it's a sign he got a revelation from Allah”. Whisper master.

”And whosoever obeys Allah and His Messenger (His), they shall be with those who are blessed by Allah, the prophets, the shiddhqn, the martyrs, and the pious. And those are the best of friends[2].” That's when the word was sent down.

Arabic is a language rich in meaning. One word can have many meanings, as well as in the aya. The word yuthi’ in the verse can be given meaning as love/miss. That's what some experts say.

Tsauban's happiness reaches its peak. After he could meet face to face and sit face to face with the Prophet, he became one of the causes of the descent of revelation. Now he was not ashamed to say about his love to the Prophet to his fellow slaves. His confidence has increased drastically.

The Prophet said after that “By Allah! A Muslim's faith will not be perfect so that I am more loved than he, his father, his mother, his wife, his son and all other human beings[3].”

Tsauban then returned home in On Fire. His master's housework is done well, even arguably perfect without leaving any shortcomings. After that, he went back to his friends to tell what he had experienced with his master and the Prophet at that time. Many of them do not believe. Not a few also gave praise to him because of the great love for the Prophet in his heart. This news gradually spread throughout the Saudi population. From mouth to mouth until it finally reaches us today.

That is how the glory of the person in his heart is embedded in the love of the Prophet more than the love of himself.
