Eternal Promises

The Part 35

Asmira prepares her usual clothes for her husband if she wants to meet with an important guest. While waiting for Darwin to take a bath, he prepared lunch with Ida in the kitchen.

After bathing, Darwin immediately put on his clothes one by one. He took the clothes Yunita gave him, and then he put them on his body. When he finished, he immediately went down to meet Asmira for lunch together.

Asmira looked at Darwin as her husband came down the stairs. “Mas, new shirt?”

“Ya dear, good?”

“Good, fit Mas wear,” said Asmira smiled, he tidied up the sleeves of Darwin's shirt, then he rolled up to the elbow.

Unknowingly, again he had lied to his wife in order to cover up all his lies. Unsuspecting, Asmira did not ask anything, although it looks strange on that holiday Darwin still said there was a meeting with clients.

Then they ate together quietly. On the sidelines, Darwin still felt restless, it felt like he wanted to get there soon to meet Yunita. I don't know why he felt called by that woman.

Just a few mouthfuls he put rice in his mouth, he got up from his seat.

“Mas, spend your meal first,” pinta Asmira.

“I'm full, baby. I must hurry to leave immediately, nih.”

Asmira could only agree with Darwin's words, she accompanied her husband to the terrace.

“Honey be careful, yes,” shrewd Asmira. Darwin kissed Asmira's forehead for a moment before she left.

“I'm sorry dear,” murmured Darwin in a guilty heart.

Asmira returns to the city after Darwin disappears from her sight.

Darwin drove at high speed to his old school. His memory was fresh when his car entered his school yard. Quite a lot of visible changes, the building is getting taller, but the courtyard is still beautiful as before, full of flowers.

“Why the gate is not in the lock, yes?”

Darwin got out of his car after he parked properly. Then he stepped towards the school's backyard, where he and Yunita had promised to meet that afternoon. The beautiful and romantic lake is right behind the school.

Darwin walked along the bridge that hung along the lake. He searched where Yunita was, but he found no one there. Darwin turned his gaze all over the place, looking for where the woman was but still there was no visible nose.

Being there makes Darwin's memory go back to his gray-white days. The lake became Yunita's hiding place when she was humiliated by her friends. It was as if the place was able to keep itself safe. If so, then Darwin would come there and persuade him to return to class.

“What is it possible that it does not come?” darwin said he felt desperate after searching here and there for the existence of Yunita but there was none.

Suddenly someone hugged Darwin from behind, who was none other than Yunita. There were sobs on Darwin's back. The crying was so bitter.

“I don't think you're coming, Win. I can't believe you really came,” wafts Yunita in between her tears. His embrace was still tight, he was reluctant to let go of that warmth.

Darwin's riveted. Somehow he also felt the same warmth, Darwin closed his eyes, a gust of wind slowly hitting his face, Darwin raised his head. It felt so peaceful, the embrace was soothing to Darwin. Then he changed his position to face Yunita.

“Be quiet ... haven't I come?” ask Darwin. He wiped away Yunita's tears with his fingertips.

Yunita is wearing a skirt and high school shirt. He intentionally repeated those times. As he had requested yesterday, he would not disturb Darwin's household again until at any time. Instead he asked that Darwin be willing to fulfill his request to meet there. And how happy Yunita was, Darwin was really there, even Darwin was wearing the clothes he gave.

“Just here, Win. A few years ago, I waited for you until sunset, but you didn't come!”

“I'm sorry,” said Darwin.

“Forget. Can I hold you for a second?” ask Yunita. Without waiting for Darwin's approval, he hugged the burly body. He put his face there. He overflows all the emotions that he has been suppressing.

Slowly Darwin raised his hand, he began to return the hug. After quite a while he was transfixed to see the love Yunita showed for him. He stroked the woman's hair, unknowingly, a kiss he gave Yunita on the forehead.

Yunita raised her head, the views of the two clashed. One teary-eyed bulge escaped back on his cheek, he could not resist the turmoil in his chest. Yunita could not lie to herself that she really loved the man in her arms.

Yunita pulled the nape of Darwin, she wrapped her hands there. The view of the two is getting closer, Darwin's breath feels warm on Yunita's face. Unknowingly he kissed Darwin's lips for a while, he closed his eyes for a while.

“Let me keep harboring this feeling, Win,” Yunita said after she let go of the kiss. Darwin was silent, he was fixated to see the beautiful face of Yunita which is only a few inches in front of him now.

“I will soon divorce Haris, Win. 10 years I learned to love her, but still failed,” tell Yunita. Darwin was still fixated with hugs not apart from the two.

“Let's sit there,” take Yunita to show a chair on the edge of the lake. He released his hand attached to Darwin's body after being satisfied to cuddle with the man he loved.

Yunita clasped Darwin's hand as they walked down the suspension bridge that ran along the lake. Yunita again spread her head on Darwin's shoulder as they sat in the long chair.

“You must have come, right, Win?” ask Yunita.

“No, absolutely no,” Darwin rebuttal fast.

Yunita held a smile on her face. He will not forget the events of that day until any time. His heart was so happy, it became the most beautiful gift on his birthday.

“What do you want my gift from me?” darwin asked later, a question that was quite surprising to Yunita.

“No need, Win. You just came here is more than enough for me. I am so happy,” Yunita said.

“You sure?” ask Darwin again.

“My will is too silly, Win. You will not obey him,” Yunita said.

Then he smiled shyly. “Ah, forget it, Win ..” he said again.

“If you don't say it, I'll just go home.” Darwin got up from his seat. But Yunita prevented it. He drew Darwin's hand, and he held it tight.

“I want to sleep with you, Win,” whispered Yunita in Darwin's ear. Then he passed away leaving Darwin speechless at Yunita's request. While Yunita had been far away leaving him with a small run back to school.
