Sherly's Lies

Reno had just arrived at her house on a motorcycle. Supposed to be home in the car he was carrying this morning, but hearing that Sherly came with her parents, Reno's heart was not calm.

As soon as he reached the main door, Reno felt bad when she saw Sherly crying and her parents who knew Reno looking at her sharply.

“Sit here !” papa Robert ordered Reno to sit next to him. Reno nodded and slowly walked over to papa Robert.

“You know why Sherly came here with her parents ?”

“No idea, Pa,” Reno shook her head.

Reno's ear caught another sobbing, not Sherly's.

His heart is getting unsettled, Reno believes that Chelsea are still in this house and listening.

“Sherly is pregnant and according to Sherly's confession the seeds are yours.”

“No way !” reno protested while standing with a face of emotion. “We have never had a husband and wife relationship, how could Sherly conceive my son ?”

“We wouldn't be here if we didn't have proof ! You think our son deliberately admitted to being pregnant with your son !” mama Sherly who is the same emotion comes to stand while leaving her waist.

Sherly told her mother to sit with her face in tears. Reno herself restored her hair, not expecting that the woman in front of her would justify any means to force Reno into her own.

“I really never did it to Sherly, Auntie,” Reno's voice dropped, not all that before.

Papa Sherly picks up the large envelope he carries and pulls out the files and photos, but Reno is shocked when Papa Sherly pulls out his comb wrapped in plastic like evidence.

“This is all the evidence Sherly gave that she was pregnant with your son, Reno. And this is the result of a DNA test we did with your comb comparison.”

Reno fell silent. Papa Robert took a photo placed on the table and saw it together with Mama Siska.

Mama Reno's heart was instantly shattered into pieces upon seeing all the evidence provided by the Sherly family. Mama Siska did not expect that Reno would do such a deed.

“This is the result of checking Sherly's content. Her age is 12 weeks. If Mas and Mbak want to check the authenticity of all these documents, please contact Andi's doctor, he who helped us undergo DNA tests and Sherly.” pregnancy

Papa Sherly offers a card in the name of Andi Marjuki's doctor, SPOG, to Papa Robert who receives it and reads it carefully.

Mama Siska began to sob in the face of the reality of her youngest son's actions. Papa Robert clasped his wife's hand, trying to calm her down.

Reno receives the photos that papa Robert gave her. All of the photos seen were of Reno's acquaintance's shots deliberately taken at Reno's own request to be sent to Chelsea using a new number.

But one photo that is not in Reno's file is when they both sleep cuddling in bed and covered in blankets

“Why should elo lie so far, Sher ?” Reno showed me the last photo. “Tell them if nothing happens at this time. All it just pretends to make Chelsea hurt and reject matchmaking with me.”

“Did you forget because we were half drunk at the time?” sherly said on the sidelines sobbing her tears.

“Elo is crazy, Sher ? When do we go out for drinks, Sher ? Sleeping in bed while hugging after my friend called to tell me that Chelsea entered the elevator to go upstairs ? We are still fully dressed, I just loose t-shirts and elo set our clothes to look messy.”

“How do you deny it Reno ? I'm sure Chelsea can be a witness because Chelsea came in and saw how the room was. Can I have Chelsea, Om ?”

“Do not involve, Sea. She doesn't know anything, instead Sea is the victim of our charade.”

“Why are you afraid to make the girl a witness ?” Mama Sherly squinted her eyes.

“I did go into that room and saw Reno and Sherly sleeping in a position like the one in the photo.”

Chelsea emerged from behind the wall with puffy eyes and a sad face.

“Sea...” Reno shook his head, asking Chelsea not to continue his remarks.

Chelsea ignored Reno's gaze and walked over and took a photo showing Reno and Sherly sleeping.

“Sh**it !” Reno cursed at not finding anything.

He just remembered that the phone and the number used to send photos to Chelsea was held by Sherly.

“Where is the phone used to send photos to Chelsea ?”

“You gave me nothing, Reno.” Sherly said with a sob.

“Have you gone crazy doing all these lies, Sher ? Nothing happened between us !”

“So you want to say that my daughter is a liar ? Will I admit to being pregnant with your child ? Do not think because you are a rich man's child can then arbitrarily on women ?”

“The proof of this DNA test is clear, Reno,” papa Sherly proffered a sheet of DNA test results. “The comparison is your own comb, do you still want to deny it ?”

Reno fell silent, thinking about how her beloved comb could be in Sherly's hands. Chelsea also glanced at Reno's belongings which were used as comparison material.

His heart was further broken from feeling that the written evidence was not denied by Reno.

“Now what do you want from my child ?” papa Robert finally spoke up.

His head feels dizzy again because his body condition is not healthy.

“Of course hold your child accountable. Marry Sherly immediately. We do not want our children to bear the shame and be considered as cheap women because pregnant without a husband,” said mama Sherly.

Reno looked at Papa Robert as if begging him not to immediately accept the requests of Sherly's parents.

“ Are you sure that the fetus you are carrying is Reno's child, Sherly ?” ask papa Robert who provoked Papa Sherly's emotions.

“What do you mean by question ?” papa Sherly's breaking the table. “ Consider my daughter a cheap woman who can sleep with any man for money ?”

“I don't mean to,” papa Robert smiled with a calm face. “I just want to reiterate, and I want that affirmation out of the mouth of my own father and mother's daughter.”

Reno could feel a little relieved by Papa Robert's attitude of not directly believing.

“What DNA test is still lacking ? Do you think we're just here to ask for money?” mama Sherly asked still with a burning emotion.

Papa Robert borrowed Reno's phone and started pressing the recorder button on the flat object.

“We will talk carefully and find a solution. In order for the future to be equally good and there is no denial from either party, I will record it,” papa Robert put Reno's phone on the table and start activating the voice recorder application.

Reno could see that Papa Sherly was a little stunned to see the actions of papa Robert and Sherly herself instead hardened her cries.

“Sherly, if you really want Reno to take responsibility for your pregnancy, stop your crying first and please answer your questions in earnest.”

Sherly is still sobbing but begins to lower the volume of her crying making Reno smile thinly at the drama being played by Sherly and his family.

“Are you sure that the fetus you are carrying is Reno seed?” papa Robert repeated his question calmly, without emotion.

“Iy..iya, Om,” Sherly's voice was a little stammered by crying.

“How old is your current pregnancy ?”

“The results of the doctor's examination said my gestational age entered the 12th week. Om.”

“Reno will take responsibility,” papa Robert turned to his son who was immediately surprised to hear his papa statement.

“Reno will be responsible after all this evidence we have confirmed the truth and true in the eyes of the law.”

“So you mean we intend to cheat ?” papa Sherly looks emotional.

“Pa...” Reno is already preparing to protest again.

Please stay there until everything is clear and if it is true that the fetus is a child of Reno, we make sure that our child will be responsible and marry Sherly.”

Sherly's mother's face still looks unsatisfied but Sherly's father has risen and beckoned his wife and son to wake up too.

“We will give you 2 weeks,” said papa Sherly.

“I request time 2 months.”

“Too long ! Don't you think how our daughter's condition is ?”

“If it could be faster, we'll have Sherly and Reno's wedding soon.

As a legal guarantee, at the latest in 3 days our lawyers will prepare a Reno affidavit guaranteeing that our child will not run away from his responsibilities during the examination of all this evidence.

Papa Sherly beckons his son and wife to leave the Juanda family home.

The three left without saying goodbye making Papa Robert take a heavy breath while shaking his head.
