Chapter 193: The Deceiver

“What? They did it on purpose?” Tan Mo's face immediately turned pale.

His expression only made Zhong Liusi's heart grow softer. “You are too young to know how cruel and deceiving humans are.” The senior sighed as he patted Tan Mo's head as if he was his mother.

“Do not worry, we will be here to protect you when people try to bully you.”

“Yes! You are the best!” Tan Mo hugged Zhong Liusi's arm emotionally.

Yu Jianan glared at Zhong Liusi enviously and said, “I will be there to protect you as well.”

“Thank you! You are also the best.”

The seniors then began to explain the work Tan Mo had to do on the research team. After the explanation was completed, Yu Jianan said, “Tell us if you are having problems while starting.”

“Is that so? If you have a problem when Jianan and Liusi are not around, you can always ask me.” Shen Jinyi acted like an older sister who cared for Tan Mo now.

“Thank you!” Tan Mo pretended to fully trust Shen Jingyi and gave her a pure smile.

Yu Jianan became worried when she saw that. He knew he had to figure out a way to warn Tan Mo to be wary of Shen Jingyi without making himself look as if he was trying to ruin their relationship.

However, it's not as easy as it looks.

Yu Jianan already knew what kind of personality Shen Jingyi had, whereas Zhong Liusi did not. Zhong Liusi only knew that it was uncomfortable talking to him.

Despite not knowing how crafty Shen Jingyi was, Zhong Liusi never liked to talk to her. He decided it would be best to ignore Shen Jingyi.

Zhong Liusi always avoided talking to Shen Jingyi and kept their interactions to a minimum. Even if Shen Jingyi made a plan to enter it, she would never leave a gap for the scheming girl to do so.

Zhong Liusi was the type of person who would always act according to his intuition. When people ask why he does what he does, he can never give an answer.

However it was the right way to deal with Shen Jingyi.

The only problem was that Yu Jianan could not rely on his team members to warn Tan Mo to keep his distance from Shen Jingyi. She's alone.

This bitter reality made Yu Jianan let out a long sigh.

After leaving the research room, Wu Xiaoye directly went to Professor Tang's office and knocked on the door.

“Log in,” replied Professor Tang from the inside.

The professor lifted his head and pushed his reading glasses down his nose slightly so that he could see his student more clearly.

“I have included Tan Mo into the group of Zhong Liusi and Yu Jianan,” reports Wu Xiaoye.

Professor Tang nodded, knowing that he could rely on Wu Xiaoye without telling him what to do.

And, when we challenged him, he always said that was not his intention. Zhong Liusi and Yu Jianan were getting the same treatment from him. That's why they don't get along well with Shen Jingyi, to the point that they don't even want to talk to her.”

It was clear that the two were not sneaky enough to resist Shen Jingyi's tricks, but they could still escape from them.

“Why didn't anyone tell me about this?” Professor Tang frowned.

Because of their personalities, their pride would not let them destroy Shen Jingyi.

Wu Xiaoye continued to smile bitterly. “No way we know what kind of person he was when the team first got together. When I realized how devious he was, it was too late to do anything about it. There's no way I'll report it to you because it'll make us look like bad guys trying to get rid of it.”

“Hah, really?” Professor Tang raised an eyebrow.

“Then why are you saying this to me now?”

“Are you not the first to bring up that topic?” Wu Xiaoye laughed. “I don't know if you finally noticed it because of Tan Mo or what, but now that you realize it, I don't need to hold back anymore.”

“I understand ...” Professor Tang sighed and subconsciously tapped his finger on his desk.
