Cute Brother Badass Family Protector
Chapter 177: Aren't you the one bullying now?

Wei Zhiqian stuffed his left hand into his pants pocket and his suit was draped perfectly where his wrist and pants met.

Huang Mingshun wanted to withdraw Tan Mo's hand, but he suddenly stopped and did not dare to move anymore.

Although Wei Zhiqian was standing in front of the stage with the fence separating them, Huang Mingshun could still feel the immense pressure coming from the man and quickly pulled his hand back.

“Uncle!” Tan Mo turned around without hesitation and ran to the edge of the stage where the fence was located.

However, the fence was too high for him to see.

He stepped onto the crossbar under the fence so he could see it. Only then could he see Wei Zhiqian.

Since the man was standing below the stage, Tan Mo had to tilt his head down.

“Sorry for being late,” Wei Zhiqian said with her deep voice.

There's an important meeting in his office. He rushed to the place as soon as the meeting was over.

Competition might mean nothing to others, but to Wei Zhiqian, whatever Tan Mo followed mattered to him.

This was also the first time Tan Mo had participated in such a huge competition. The thought of this little fellow standing in the spotlight made him proud.

That was why he had to be there to see Tan Mo shining brighter than the floodlights that led to him.

“Not at all,” Tan Mo shook his head. “I don't think you're coming.”

“How can I not come when you compete?” Wei Zhiqian replied.

Even on the way to the venue, he had witnessed the competition from his phone.

He was watching while driving.

Of course, it was something he could never tell Tan Mo, or he would scold him for not paying attention while he was driving.

However, the reality was, even if Wei Zhiqian wanted to focus on the show, he could not.

Before he could even read the question displayed on the screen, Tan Mo had already answered it.

Everything happened so quickly that the man had no choice but to focus on driving it.

When Wei Zhiqian saw Tan Mo's reddened eyes, it made him feel like someone had tightened his grip on his heart. His heart started beating faster as he tried his best to hold the anger within him.

The man then raised his hand and gently wiped away the tears from Tan Mo's eyes.

Right then and there, the girl felt like a lost puppy that her owner had finally found.

He slowly moved his face towards her as Wei Zhiqian's finger touched her.

At first, he did not feel guilty and only had the intention to make Huang Mingshun look bad. That was why he forced himself to cry a little.

Little did he know that when he saw Wei Zhiqian, his heart would finally give up.

He could not believe how rude these people from Tsinghua University were. Not only were they arrogant, but they were also unwilling to admit their defeat.

All they did was bully a little girl.

When Wei Zhiqian comforted her, she finally let her tears flow.

“Do you still want to compete? If not, let's go back home.” Wei Zhiqian forced himself to smile gently while restraining his anger. He pressed himself so that his voice became deeper and became hoarse.

“Of course!” Tan Mo nodded. “They tried to bully me because I was better than them. I want to win it all so there's nothing more they can say!”

Tan Mo's scowling expression with a hint of cunning on his face miraculously made all the anger and hatred within Wei Zhiqian disappear. It was as if he had cast a magic spell on her.

“Alright,” replied Wei Zhiqian with a smile. His voice had now returned to his usual calm tone.

After Tan Mo calmed down, the host and staff approached the two.

“Tan Mo, can you continue?” the host asked in a low voice.

“Good. Third round will start soon.” The host smiled. “If you still want to compete, you have to go back to the stage.”

“OK,” replied Tan Mo and turned to Wei Zhiqian.

“Uncle, I'm leaving now.”

“Go!” Wei Zhiqian smiled.

Tan Mo returned to his place, and Wei Zhiqian found a seat among the crowd.

He now sat just one row behind the VIPs, which was the best seat one could hope to find other than the VIP seats.

Tan Mo's eyes followed Wei Zhiqian until he found his seat. He quickly waved at her as soon as she sat down.

Wei Zhiqian responded with a smile and a wave of hands.

When Tan Mo put down his hand, Huang Mingshun cut off his sweet moment. “I... I didn't try to hurt you before..”.

HM!

Tan Mo averted his gaze and ignored him.

As he started to feel better because of Wei Zhiqian, Huang Mingshun had ruined his mood again.

On the other hand, Huang Mingshun was also furious. He never thought that he would be branded as a man who would bully a girl.

“Now, let's start the third round of the competition. Please look on the screen,” the host announced.

A familiar ten-second timer appeared on the screen once again.

Once the countdown begins, the screen switches to the first question. Only half a second had passed and, even before anyone could read what the question was, someone had already pressed the bell.

Huang Mingshun's hand was still on top of his button, but it wasn't him who pressed it. Instead, he glared at Tan Mo.

He clearly understood what Tan Mo's strategy was, but he didn't have the guts to imitate him. It only made him even more frustrated and angry.

The host's expression showed that he had already expected this result and said, “University Beijing! Your answer, please.”

Tan Mo replied in a trembling voice with eyes still red, “The answer is B.”

The audience, especially from Beijing University, could not help but sympathize with Tan Mo when they heard his voice.

It was a situation where a woman had been bullied but chose to continue fighting despite her frustration.

The sportsmanship Tan Mo showed shocked everyone. He had already shown something extraordinary by keeping his voice as little as possible. There were not many people on Earth who could recover from being bullied as soon as he experienced.

That was why when his soft, trembling voice was transmitted through the loudspeakers, everyone could feel their own hearts slightly breaking.

“B is the correct answer!” the host announced. “Now, to the next question.”

However, what happened next left the audience shivering.

Tan Mo slammed his bell for the next few questions as soon as the question came up and answered everything correctly with his still trembling voice.

It was as if everyone was watching the replay over and over again.

The other participants did not even have the chance to answer.

The audience began to wonder if Tan Mo was really frustrated from being bullied, as the sight of him crying while answering a question was too frightening.

It was even worse for Huang Mingshun, the man who had bullied Tan Mo.

Didn't you say you can only guess half of the question correctly? 50 percent? Are you kidding me? You answered everything correctly. Fuck that! Also, can you not cry when answering questions? Aren't you the one doing the bullying now?

Huang Mingshun had already given up, and all he could do was hope that the audience could see what kind of person Tan Mo really was.
