It means: “O you who believe, let not a group of men humble another group, may the one who is laughed at be better than them. And do not also a group of women denigrate other groups, it may be that the denigrated is better.”

(QS. Al Hujurat: 11).

الْكِبْرُ بَطَرُ الْحَقِّ وَغَمْطُ النَّاسِ

Meaning: “Shoulder is an attitude of rejecting truth and belittling man.”

"Now other Quranic commentators such as Imam Ath-Thabari in Tafsir At-Thabari explain the meaning of the verse by also quoting one of the hadiths of Prophet Muhammad:

وَلاَ تَحْقِرَنَّ شَيْئًا مِنَ الْمَعْرُوفِ وَأَنْ تُكَلِّمَ أَخَاكَ وَأَنْتَ مُنْبَسِطٌ إِلَيْهِ وَجْهُكَ إِنَّ ذَلِكَ مِنَ الْمَعْرُوفِ وَارْفَعْ إِزَارَكَ إِلَى نِصْفِ السَّاقِ فَإِنْ أَبَيْتَ فَإِلَى الْكَعْبَيْنِ وَإِيَّاكَ وَإِسْبَالَ الإِزَارِ فَإِنَّهَا مِنَ الْمَخِيلَةِ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لاَ يُحِبُّ الْمَخِيلَةَ وَإِنِ امْرُؤٌ شَتَمَكَ وَعَيَّرَكَ بِمَا يَعْلَمُ فِيكَ فَلاَ تُعَيِّرْهُ بِمَا تَعْلَمُ فِيهِ فَإِنَّمَا وَبَالُ ذَلِكَ عَلَيْه

Tafsir Surah Al-Hujurat verse 11: Prohibition of Denouncing and Mocking Others
