غَرَّتْ أُمُّكَ

Then the Prophet Shallallahu alaihi wa sallam told the servant to wait, then He gave him the bowl of the wife who was with Him to give to the owner of the broken bowl. The broken bowl He kept in the house of the wife who was with Him." (SN Al Bukhari)

Ibn Hajar explained that the wife of Prophet Muhammad Shallallahu alaihi wa sallam who broke the bowl was Aisha Ummul Mu’minin, while the one who sent food was Zainab bint Jahsy.

Jealousy will arise because of love. The stronger the love of a wife to her husband, the stronger the jealousy in her heart.

In the hadith narrated by Imam Ahmad bin Hanbali, Imam An-Nasa’i, and Imam Abu Dawud that the Prophet Shallallah alaihi wa sallam once said:

"There is indeed a jealous nature favored by Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala, namely a jealous nature accompanied by doubt and there is also a jealous nature that is hated by Allah Ta'ala, namely jealousy without with a sense of doubt again."

Later in a history, Sa’ad bin Ubadah says:

It means: "If I had seen a man with my wife, I would have struck him with the sharp side of my sword."

Hearing his words, Prophet Shallallahu alaihi wa Sallam said:

أَتَعْجَبُونَ مِنْ غَيْرَةِ سَعْدٍ لَأَنَا أَغْيَرُ مِنْهُ، وَاللَّهُ أَغْيَرُ مِنِّي

Meaning: "Don't you guys have Sa’ad's jealousy? Verily I am more jealous than Sa’ad, and Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala is more jealous than I am." (Silver Bukhari)

But if a woman wants to hide the burning turmoil because of jealousy in her heart because it wants to purify her soul then it is legitimate even Allah Subhanahu wa ta’a promise a reward in His Word:

وَلَا تَتَمَنَّوْا مَا فَضَّلَ اللَّهُ بِهِ بَعْضَكُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ لِلرِّجَالِ نَصِيبٌ مِمَّا اكْتَسَبُوا وَلِلنِّسَاءِ نَصِيبٌ مِمَّا اكْتَسَبْنَ وَاسْأَلُوا اللَّهَ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمًا

It means: "And do not envy what Allah has given you more than others. (Because) for men there is a part of what they do, and for women (pun) there is a part of what they do. And ask God for a portion of His bounty. Verily, Allah is All-Knowing." (QS An-Nisa: 32)
