Butterfly Cocoon

Butterfly Cocoon
Chapter 1

Jambi, (2010)

At the edge of the silent lake was a boy and a girl sitting while breathing the cool air that entered into the pores of their body. It felt peaceful as the girl's gaze turned to look at the man sitting beside her while closing his eyes.

"Bang, my family will move to Palembang."

Hearing those words, the boy opened his eyes while staring in disbelief.

"We can't see each other anymore" the girl continued with a disappointed look.

"Although our bodies don't greet each other. However, believe that our hearts will continue to communicate from a great distance."

"Would we meet again someday?"

"Of course, we'll meet again under different circumstances."

The two-headed girl smiled warmly and hoped that the opportunity would come someday.

"Wear this brown wooden bracelet so I can hold you in the future" he said, wearing a wooden bracelet to his brother's hand.

"I promise I'll always wear a gift bracelet from you without ever thinking of taking it off."

The rain slowly fell, making the two go home. Every meeting there must be a farewell and if God gives a bonus, the separation will lead to the next meeting. Where destiny will overhaul the future that can not be separated from the past that has been lived.

Until the time comes happiness will come by itself, through a process that is very difficult to go through.

Palembang, (2019)

Ransi stood in front of the mirror while observing her body. A short, tight dress is worn every night while working. In order to meet the needs and costs of his sister's school, the girl who almost turned 18 years old was willing to work at a night club to get rupiah. The beauty she had was used to tease the striped-nose men out there. Who doesn't like him? A very beautiful girl with pale white skin with long skinny legs.

But what about the facts in his life? The mother's departure five years ago made the wound continue to feel, the world seemed to collapse instantly. Mother is an angel to Ransi, but the angel of her life is gone forever.

The father who is unemployed, lazy and heavy drunk makes Ransi the backbone of the family. And plus the younger sister who attended Madrasah Aliyah (abbreviated MA) every month requires money for payment and other school needs. Not to mention Adzriel, the first child who did not have a sense of responsibility to the family, every return home always asked Ransi for money, if the girl does not give the brother will slam or damage the items in the house.

"Sir, there is a Rafan bang in front," said Ara from the front door of her brother's room.

"Yes, I'm going out."

Ransi took a medium-sized bag not to forget he put his cellphone and wallet in the bag patterned polkadot, then stepped out of the house to approach the man who had been waiting for him.

Although every night driving Ransi to work, when he saw Ransi wearing mini clothes, Rafan always breathed a rough breath with an expression of dislike.

"Ara, lock the door and don't sleep overnight. Brother go first," cried Ransi.

"Yes," Ara replied as she closed the door and locked it.

"Let's go. I'm almost too late" said Ransi, glancing at the clock in her hand.

Rafan was silent, he opened the thick brown jacket in his clothes. Slowly the man put the jacket on the body of the girl he loved.

"You're just wearing Raf's shirt. It's not good to be in the wind at night, you might get sick."

"Which pain, seeing loved ones wearing clothes that are less material at night and showing the curves of his body in front of other men."

Always the words spoken on the thin lips Rafan makes Ransi tired of hearing it.

Having a rich girlfriend does not make Ransi spoiled for her lover. Ransi is not a woman who likes to buy or spend money to buy useless things. Ransi is just an independent girl who never relies on anyone else.

Rafan always told Ransi to quit her job, if Ransi wants to quit her job Rafan promised to meet all the needs and needs of her lover's family. However, Ransi flatly refused and said, "If I quit this job, how can I support my family. You Raf will fulfill everything? Want to get to when? A lifetime? Or until you no longer love me? Come on, Rafan, I can make my own money from my hard work. Although my work looks low, but with that I can support my family until this moment.'

What could the man do, if Ransi's words were an affirmation for his own life. Inevitably Rafan accepts Ransi's decision who still wants to continue working at the night club in tight clothes.

Love, well because of love Rafan can be patient to face his lover and accept whatever decision Ransi has set. He chose to be silent rather than later his love would go anchored to another man.

"Rafan, why stop here? Geez what time I can be really late" said Ransi.

Rafan parked his motorcycle in a very crowded downtown park.

"It's sunday night. Once in a while, give me time to make two with you, do not do mulu work. Every working day is also not rich, still gini-gini right," said Rafan while opening his helmet. Ransi could only grumble inwardly by constantly staring at the man standing in front of her.

Rafan untied Ransi's helmet and put the pink helmet on his motorcycle. Ransi's long hair unraveled so beautifully that anyone who saw would definitely be blown away.

"Don't miss the pretty dong. Many eyes will see you."

"What the hell is Raf giveh your fight."

"Whoever is terrible, I speak according to the facts."

"Well how else, it's your risk why you want to date a girl as beautiful as me," joked Ransi with a thin smile and stepped towards the park.

"Your words are indeed Ran's. Therefore I have to be extra patient if walking alone with you," inner Rafan while following the steps of his lover.

Sunday night is a young night for dating, gathering or just enjoying the atmosphere of the night with the glitter of garden lights that are so charming.

There are various attractions, people who trade, community associations, band children and many more. Everything can be seen on a Sunday night in the park downtown, it is perfect for a walk and breathe the night breeze with music and colorful street lights.

Ransi and Rafan sit on an iron bench on the side of the road. Ransi seems so happy, usually at this hour he is busy serving people in the club. Bored of? Of course the girl was bored. But not for tonight. Rafan managed to make the queen in his heart smile warmly.

"Are you happy to be in this place?" ask Rafan.

"Well, of course I'm happy. Here I feel peaceful, seeing people passing by while smiling. Even though I know in their hearts they have wounds that no one else can know." Answer Ransi.

"You mean?"

"Raf, try to see the man sitting in the corner there" said Ransi, pointing at the man.

"Why indeed?"

"He used to be my bankrupt former boss and now works as an online driver."

"About to the left, there was a very sweet shoulder-haired girl. The girl was trying to find a job to help her family's economy. However, until now he has not got a job,” continued Ransi.

"Don't tell me that girl once confided to you."

"It's not like that. Two days ago he came to the club to apply for a job and a little bit he told me, but I know."

"Then what's important to me with their lives" said Rafan indifferently.

"Raf, I just want you to know that what you see is not necessarily what you think. The man and the girl, even though they were hit by the ordeal, no one knew what they were feeling right now because they were covering everything with a smile and as if the burden was light. Like what I feel now," said Ransi Pilu.

Rafan clasped Ransi's hand and said, "All humans can cover wounds perfectly. However, they forget that the wound that is covered still continues to stick and imprint. Until the time comes, where the wound will add to the pain that cannot be healed."

"You're right, Raf." Ransi said as she looked at Rafan's bead.

"Then from that. Even if I get hurt, I will never cover up the wound, I will try to be myself. Although the fragility is very clearly reflected in the look on my face."
