Chapter 16: Organization in the Dark

The next two years.

"Thank you for the hard work, here's the payment, 20 gold coins."

That day as usual Adi had given a report of his work to Riho in the guild, when he got out of there Edgar had greeted him.

"Yes."

Edgar himself was an instructor in the adventurer academy dormitory, his stature was quite high with a plontos head and aura that was enough to make a child afraid, as an adventurer he was a charismatic person in his own way.

Both visit the store to order coffee, the shop itself is quite different, you could say approaching a restaurant with two levels.

The employees are new recruits from Shadow Hunter under Melty.

"They have things to do out there."

"I don't know why strong people like them become slaves, they only study for a year and graduate from there, out there they can even become knights."

A girl walks by Adi's side as she steps her foot in the alley.

A man was wearing a black-haired, twintail robe with a white mask covering his face.

The mask itself has no holes or decorations, however, anyone who wears it will have no trouble seeing or breathing.

"I want you to accompany me to the capital, we will disguise ourselves as students of the academy."

Vern, who heard him, was seen stretching out his arms as he spun around as if he were dancing.

"That sounds interesting, Idol Vern will console lonely young souls cling."

Vern stops in front of Adi while doing Vis pose with his hand. He took off his mask showing dazzling jade green eyes like jewels.

"Not at all."

Adi walks past the disillusioned looking Vern, unbeknownst to him Adi is actually yelling in his heart.

He cleared up to calm himself.

"Vern tomorrow we'll leave make sure to get ready."

"Pertain hehe."

"If we succeed we may find territory for our new headquarters."

"That sounds great, may I form an idol or so later, this sweet Vern won't disappoint you."

"We can think about it later."

Both are just walking straight.

The next morning a train was reserved for the departure of the two. Adi has already said goodbye to Brietta and Melty should they be able to protect this city if a certain situation occurs.

Vern peered out the window with a big smile.

"Where do I want to see it too?" the voice was not from Adi but Edgar who was not expected to come too.

Adi squinted at him.

"So why are you coming too?"

"I have something to talk to the king about, all of you."

He is a man who should not be challenged in such a matter.

Vern placed his finger on the tip of his lip while tilting his head.

"Hmm, how's yah? Vern is still a rookie, can Vern win?"

"Don't worry lady, I'll teach you the basics."

"Vern will fight."

After the next few minutes, Edgar sat in the corner of the train with a blank look while regretting his actions.

He had just lost to the amount of 30 gold coins, it was not something small of course.

"Look at this, I got the money."

"Good, good, just use what you want in town?"

"Yeay, Cling."

Vern happily showed his idol pose. Arriving in the capital Edgar has recovered it took four days to reach the capital thanks to Adi the journey became safe and secure.

"Then I will leave you two, from here you can go straight to the academy, the principal will take care of everything."

Adi nodded while Vern waved his hand.

"We're leaving."
