It was late, but Rama did not return home. Still waiting faithfully on the porch. The cold night air did not collapse his spirit to stay seated staring at the increasingly quiet streets. Every now and then this woman took a deep breath as she looked at the needle in her watch that kept spinning.
"Where is your mom? Why are you back like this again?" muttered Kian.
This woman was walking back and forth in the courtyard of the house. His heart is so agitated. He was very worried about the man he loved so much.
"Mas hurry back. We can talk about this all right, can't we? If you don't come back, how can I explain everything?" Keep mumbling.
Because of feeling sore for too long standing, Kian also sat in a chair in the yard. His face was drowned in both of his palms. Without the woman realizing since then Grandpa Bimo noticed her from inside the house. Seeing the granddaughter-in-law who seemed to be very tired, Grandpa Bimo came out to approach Kian.
"Son," call Grandpa Bimo. Kian looked up at Grandpa Bimo.
"Yes Cake?" he tried to smile in front of his grandfather. In her heart she wanted to cry and scream.
"Rama hasn't come home yet?" ask Grandpa Bimo. The old man could already guess what his granddaughter-in-law was doing.
"Not Cake," Kian replied as he shook his head. Grandpa Bimo glanced at the clock in his hand which already showed at eleven o'clock at night.
"Where's the kid?" grandpa Bimo said with a frown.
"Where did he say you were going?" ask Grandpa Bimo again.
It's quiet for a moment. He was thinking. If she said that her husband left without saying goodbye after the incident last afternoon in the hospital, maybe Kian also had to explain everything to the grandfather. And Kian hesitated to do so because he was afraid that, like Rama, his grandfather would be angry with him. But if he did not say that then what should he say to the old man?
"What's Lian?" asked the grandfather to break the woman's daydream.
"Oh yes, cake?"
"Did Rama ask you for permission to come home late?" ask the grandfather again.
"Yes Cake. Last afternoon Mas Rama said he would be home late. He said he wanted to see his old friend first," replied Kian casually.
"But it's very late. Didn't you call her?"
"The Cake. But Mas Rama didn't pick it up."
"No lifting? Why?"
"I don't know, Cake. Maybe I'm driving."
Grandfather was silent for a moment. His eyes kept staring at his granddaughter-in-law. With Kian's sudden movements looking down as if he did not want to look into the grandfather's eyes, the old man also understood that the woman in front of him was lying. But as usual, Grandpa Bimo will not interfere in the household affairs of the grandson if not the grandson himself who told him and asked for help.
"Yes cake. I'll be in in a minute" replied Kian smiling. He looked at the grandfather who stepped into the house. After that he looked back at the gate that was still not open.
Because it was felt to be very late at last Kian decided to enter the house only. But when he was about to close the door, the gate opened. A black car belonging to the husband came in. Kian smiled. Her heart was relieved by the return of her husband.
Rama got out of the car. His gaze had looked towards Kian but he quickly turned his face in the other direction. His feet continued to step into the room without stopping first near Kian. Even Kian's helping hand, who was about to kiss the back of the husband's hand, had to be willing to get winded, because Rama ignored it.
The heart is back in pain. It was as if a needle had pierced him back to shed a single tear. But the woman quickly wiped it with her hand.
She went into the room following her husband. Rama looked back at Kian. He looked at the woman through the mirror image in front of him. He looked at the woman from top to bottom. And his gaze stopped on Kian's slightly distended stomach. Rama also understood if the woman who is now with him is Kian. The woman he had always considered as his wife and was pregnant with his child.
Seeing Kian who was walking over, Rama quickly picked up a towel and entered the bathroom. The woman stopped pecking. He still had to be patient to be able to talk to the man.
Inside the bathroom, Rama turns on the shower and stands pecking under it. A stream of water continued to wet the hair then flowed downwards tracing each curve of his stocky body. He would occasionally hit the wall in front of him as he recalled how he had been fooled by two twin girls. He is the CEO of Amarta's Group. He is very experienced in selecting and assessing every client who comes. But why in this case could he be deceived?
The memory goes back around. From the start of the wedding party, her life with Kian, the presence of Safira, the romance overnight full, until finally she began to feel the deep love for the girl.
"I love you so much. I love you so much. But why would you lie to me like this?" mummified Rama.
A drop of water did not feel falling from the corner of the man's eyes, considering Kian's last face just before he entered the bathroom just now. Also her distended stomach where their future child is growing.
Now Rama is confused what to treat the woman like. He loved her very much but now he could not make out with her because Rama realized that the woman who was with him was not his wife but his sister-in-law.
After a while in the bathroom, the man came out wearing his nightgown. He saw Kian still sitting at the end of the bed. When the two women's eyes looked at Rama, Kian immediately stood up.
"Mas" said Kian slowly. But the man still did not respond.
Rama immediately went up to the bed and lay down with his back to Kian. The woman could only throw a rough breath looking at the behavior of her sister-in-law's husband. Eventually, she lay down on the bed. But the woman's position was facing Rama's back.
"Mas, are you asleep?" kian. But there was no answer from the man.
"Mas, I want to explain everything."
