Dalilahs.
I walked slowly when I entered the house. I know, Dad must know I skipped school.
"Ayahanda's in the garden!" bimo said as he stopped.
I took a breath and nodded in passing. I'm gonna take a shower first. While I know, Bimo must be reporting.
I don't know if I have to be punished anymore, because I'm used to being locked up in the house. I try to keep myself busy by reading books, browsing websites and watching videos on YouTube. Or, if I'm bored, I'll sit in contemplation while waiting for frangipani flowers to fall on my body.
I combed my hair, I let it run. Then I took the lip gloss and wet my lips in peach color.
Before I actually came to Father, I took some cookies and ate them in the kitchen. I'm hungry and if I'm punished later, I'm full. That's the absolute formula if you're going to face Ayahanda. Must full!
I pretended to have a cough as Ayahanda and Bimo were so seriously talking. They turned their heads then Bimo shifted his position-a little away from Ayahanda.
"Have a shower?" ask Ayahanda slowly.
I nodded and sat down beside Father. Ayahanda kissed the top of my head.
"Go home, Bim. Thank you for taking care of my daughter!" the word Ayahanda was straightforward and gentle without any intimidation sentence as usual.
Where is the arrogance of the power of the Father. I turned my head, looking into Ayahanda's eyes for a moment before Bimo bowed respectfully while kissing Ayahanda's back. I glanced at him, guessing what I was he talking about with Ayahanda earlier.
What report he gave until Ayahanda looks calm this afternoon.
At first glance Bimo's gaze turned to me.
"Tomorrow I'll pick it up!" he told me, before bowing respectfully.
I'm throttling. Bimo left, and I shifted my position to put some distance between me and Father. Take care.
"How's the exercise?" ask Ayahanda.
My eyebrows shot up. I remember that training time. Quite stiffening due to disagreements and choreography that was really complicated like a common thread between me and Revi and Bimo.
"Need more vigorous and serious training" I replied.
Father looked at me carefully before clearing his throat as if swallowing the sand in his throat. Very difficult.
"You are sixteen years old, Princess Dalilah. It's really a teenager" said Ayahanda, with a smile.
I sniffed my shoulders, strange enough with Ayahanda's temperament. Father was not angry after what Bimo reported to him. After a week I was picked up by Ayahanda and I made two mistakes.
"Bimo said what's Ayahanda?" let me try to investigate.
Father frowned, he inhaled a deep breath while smiling at me. His face was emotionless. Body sprightly. What is being thought about at the moment? Fathers are really hard to guess.
"You happy?"
Ayahanda's gaze hinted at understanding. He could guess what happened.
I moved my jaw before opening my mouth.
"Has Dad ever been a teenager?"
"Do you think that Eyang uti gave birth to Ayahanda immediately became old?"
Oh, Gosh.
I asked the wrong question.I re-forced my cheek muscles to work. A sweet smile full of apologies.
"Today Lilah visited a hill in the southern area during school hours. Then, try contemporary dancing."
Father said, being an adult is not a big thing like choosing a choice and living. Or be responsible for whatever it is that becomes the stamp of adulthood.
But also the facts and the facts.
"You happy?" ask Ayahanda.
Still the question.
"How did you see it?" ask me while returning the gaze of Ayahanda.
"You're depressed because of the protocol that Father proposed to you?"
I nodded, contemplating the words of Father. Then shake. "Not depressed, just need a little leeway. Um... Lilah only needs to feel one first experience as a teenager. That's it already. And you know, Dad!"
I rested my head on Ayahanda's arm. The father embraced me and our shadow was clearly visible above the grass as the twilight light illuminated us from behind. This shadow looks warm.
"It was as if something came loose when Lilah did that. There's something relieved in my mind."
"It's just change and you know, princess.." cut Ayahanda firmly. "Did Revi take good care of you?"
Before I answered, I straightened my body.
"Although in the eyes of Ayahanda mas Revi it was awkward, but he was good. He looks after Lilah, even though Lilah knows she's depressed about dating Lilah."
My father glanced at me. "You'll realize that life sometimes doesn't live up to your expectations, Lilah. Revi and you will transition from a school teenager to an adult teenager. You will experience a time when, you and Revi will have their own goals. Are you ready to face it?"
I sniff my shoulders gracefully. "Lilah also does not want as Ayahanda said earlier, too soon adulthood will actually make everything runyam."
I was still listening, looking at me, waiting for me to finish.
"I want to flow, Father. Like a river, life."
"With the boundaries we agree on together?" He straightened his body and stood up. "Go home!"
I followed Father and stopped us in the living room. Father fluttered in front of my childhood photo frame.
"You will grow up and marry the man of your choice. But if you break the rules that Father has given you, Father will match you with a chosen man Father!"
"Practice the protocol of the Dalilah palace if you do not want to marry a fellow noble who is full of rules. It must not be exciting." I thought speaking, disturbing the calm.
"Who was the chosen man of the Father?" my many. The jaw of Ayahanda hardened, as if my question was one that stated that I did not mind it.
He replied, still a secret.
"Did you never skip school? Is Eyang so hard to educate Ayahanda until Ayahanda like this? Not understanding the souls of young people?" many streak.
Ayahanda shook her head, then looked at me with a glare in my eyes. It looks sad and there is pride that is still clearly visible to my eyes.
"Hard doesn't mean rough, Lilah! Not what you've been assuming all this time."
"Did you ever rebel?"
Ayahanda opened her eyes wider, then she looked at the picture frame showing the marriage of Father and Mother.
"You are the result of Father's defiance. You are the child who united Ayahanda and Kakung eyes after the long effort that Father made to bring your mother into this palace. That is why, you are the true child of the Father of concern because your attitude must show the attitude of the noble woman whom the Father has taught!"
My eyes water. Mournfully. Ayahanda rubbed her face before staining a smile at me.
"Grow into a strong child with hard upbringing from a Father who is not in the ideal fatherhood."
"But, from everything that Father told me, Lilah concluded that Father was not angry that I skipped school and danced contemporary?" I concluded it myself. Even if Ayahanda is angry, be prepared to be punished. Home-bred.
"Only once to skip school! For contemporary dance, art and art are freedom. Express yourself well without harming yourself."
I hugged Ayahanda. "If this is the ideal Father, not the angry Father. So Ayahanda will stay young!"
I chuckled as Ayahanda said that I looked like Mother. Smart to lick the tongue aka talk a lot.
