Episode Twenty One

"Arin, why is Arin just quiet? Brother needs Arin's answer, brother needs certainty."

Donny stared expectantly.

Donny has loved Arin, even since childhood. For years he lost track of Arin, but he didn't give up. Slowly he searches for information on Arin's whereabouts, and he finally finds out that Arin was taken home to his father's hometown, to his grandparents' home in the town of Pematangsiantar.

After his studies, with an MSc from Manchester Donny university, he submitted a job application file to several High Schools in Pematangsiantar city as a teacher of accounting studies. Of course it is just an alibi, because the goal is to find the whereabouts of Arin. And he'll definitely try to find the girl.

A few months after searching and almost hopeless, luck sided with him when one night he accidentally helped a girl who was on the streets deserted.

That's the girl he's been looking for all this time, Ariana Dahlia.

After finding Arin, Donny resigns from his job and returns to Jakarta to help his mother's boutique business, and tries to take the hearts of his parents so that he can get the blessing of his choice.

"Abang, it's not twelve o'clock tonight, is it?"

Ask Arin.

"Why?"

Donny asked while frowning.

"It's a promise, brother will fulfill whatever Arin asks before twelve o'clock."

Said Arin in a soft tone.

"Arin wants something? Okay, say. Brother will fulfill it."

Reply Donny.

"Whatever is that?"

Arin looked at Donny as if asking for confidence.

Donny nodded, with a sincere smile.

"All right, before twelve o'clock. And this is Arin's last request. After this Arin promises, Arin will not ask anything from brother. Arin please.."

"Arin, don't make your brother curious. What does Arin want now? Arin wants to be proposed soon? Or what? Just say it."

Donny looked curious.

"Abang, Arin wants us to break up."

The sentence just slid from Arin's mouth.

Donny looked surprised, and the look on his face turned pias but he covered it with a bland laugh.

"Arin, this time brother is really serious. My brother intends to propose to you.. You're not serious, are you? You're just kidding, aren't you? Okay, this time we're talking seriously. No pranks or nosy ideas."

"Arin seriously bang, Arin wants us to break up. Let's just end our relationship. Arin's sure it's the best."

Arin replied while looking down.

"The best? Arin, try the same story brother.. What the hell is it? All this time my brother felt our relationship was good. Never once had a significant problem. Is it because you are not ready to get married? If that is the reason you can understand, and you will wait until Arin is really ready. At least we can get engaged first, right.."

Donny.

Arin nodded slowly.

"Arin's sorry, but Arin really can't continue this relationship."

Donny sighed deeply while closing his eyes for a moment.

"What's the reason?"

Ask Donny.

"Because.. There's someone else in Arin's heart, and it's not brother."

"What's? No, brother doesn't believe. Arin, look at brother. Answer honestly why are you like this? You can't believe there's anyone else in your heart."

"That's right, Arin initially feels comfortable with his brother, with all the kindness of his brother and Arin considers it as love. Arin was wrong. Arin only admires brother, because of the kindness that is in brother. But it's not love. Arin loves brother, just like Arin loves bang Ardan. Nothing more than that."

Donny took a step back, looking frustrated.

"Who is he? Who is the person in your heart? Can he make you happy? Can he love you more than his brother? Is he ready to sacrifice for you? And will he not abandon you and will remain beside you under any circumstances?"

Arin looked down inside.

"At least, he's more worth it to Arin."

"So, is this the reason you've been changing lately? You deliberately avoided brother?"

"Yes, Arin deliberately avoided his brother. Arin apologizes, Arin hopes you can understand. Arin believes that one day he will find a woman who is much better than Arin. That's worth the brother, and worth it to stand beside the brother."

Arin moves on, then leaves Donny still riveted.

"That's much better than you, brother sure much.. But the one you love with all your heart, it's Ariana Dahlia."

Donny muttered softly while staring at the back of Arin who had gone far.

Arin returned to the hotel where he was staying. His body and soul felt tired, he immediately threw his body on the bed.

His chest felt tight, and he started crying.

"Abang, Arin's sorry.. Arin had to lie to his brother. Arin couldn't possibly tell the truth. If you know your brother's family is against our relationship, Arin does not want you to also oppose your brother's family just for the sake of Arin. Arin loves his brother, but Arin realizes who Arin is. It's not worth being on my brother's side. Out there, a lot of women are much more decent and worth it for brother."

Mumbled wailing.

Tired of crying, Arin finally fell asleep.

"Lady, I think it's time you thought about your future."

Said Miss Riana, Mama Rangga on the sidelines of their family dinner.

"Ma, we've talked about this before. Rangga is young. Rangga still wants to focus on Rangga's career."

"The lady, your mother is right. A long time ago at your age, papa was holding your brother Ranty. Though not long, for God has predestined his age not long."

Timpal Pak Bayu, papa Rangga.

Rangga sighed deeply.

"Just now, it's up to mom. If indeed mama has found the right woman, Rangga will follow the wishes of mama."

Reply Rangga.

Miss Riana reached into her negligee pocket, then took out a photo.

"Name Amelia. She's beautiful, and she's definitely good. Mama accidentally met him in the hospital yesterday, when you wanted to anterin your papa lunch."

Mr. Bayu grabbed the photo that his wife offered.

"Oh, papa knows him. It's too bad his fate. A few days ago, his family had an accident. Both of his parents died, while his sister was still critical. She's a good woman, but I agree that she's the daughter-in-law in this house."

"If indeed papa and mama are sure, Rangga has no complaints."

Rangga moved, then went to his room.

"Maybe it's time I forgot about him. He must have forgotten me too. After all, what does an accidental momentary meeting mean."

Rangga muttered while laying down his body on the sofa.
