In the afternoon Tama said goodbye to go home. He actually wanted to invite Harjo and Khalid to stay at his house, but Harjo refused. Harjo reasoned, if the land occupied by Tama is land that is still in dispute. He was afraid that at any time the criminal would come and take over the land.
Harjo had forbidden Tama to return to his home, but Tama also ignored Harjo's ban. Tama did not want his land taken by anyone. She screamed and cried inside Harjo's house.
Luckily Khalid was able to calm him down. Harjo also let Tama go home after her crying subsided.
" I'm sorry Grandpa, Tama. You are right, the land you are occupying now is your land. You have the right to defend it. But I suggest you be careful of those criminals. Because that villain can come at any time without your knowledge." ask Harjo before Tama leaves Harjo's house.
" Yes, Cake. Grandpa just calm down. I can take care of myself." Tama said, walking his bike, followed by Khalid behind him.
" Tama, are you sure you dare to go home alone?" khalid asked when he got to his yard.
" I'm used to it myself, brother. Brother just calm down. I'll be fine."
" Tama, actually I want to talk to you alone. But it might take a long time. Can I not play at your house sometime?"
" What do you want to say, brother? I told you, brother Bolrh lives in my house. If I want to play, I'm really happy."
" But to stay in your house is very dangerous, Tama. At times the criminal comes again and occupies your house. But if you still want to live there, it's okay. But you have to be careful. I'm sorry I couldn't keep you at your house, Tama. I can only hope you'll stay safe in your house."
" I'll never leave my house, brother. That's where my only home is. I will keep my family's legacy!" say Tama firmly.
" You're great, Tama. Let's grow together, we'll be friends in everything." said Khalid, echoing Tama's two hands.
" Yes, Brother. Thank you for being my friend. I'll go home first, brother."
" All the same, Tama. Alright, careful. Don't forget to pray."
" Yes, Brother."
Tama hurried to ride her bicycle to her house. The day that was getting late made his heart restless. Not because he was afraid of the darkness or the ghosts that roamed, but he was worried that the fish died because of late feeding. He then pedaled his bike very quickly through the path to the Hill Slope.
Before sunset, Tama had arrived at her courtyard. He went into the house and took fish feed and gave it to the fish in the pond.
He was relieved that not a single fish had died of starvation. He then went back into his house.
" My body is smelly, I have to take a shower. So that my body doesn't smell anymore. If my body stinks, I don't like me anymore. I don't want Mom to hate me and scold me." Tama muttered as she reached her room.
" I'm sorry, Brother. I'm wearing your clothes, I don't have any more. My clothes I can't wear. Tomorrow if I can make money, I promise I will buy my own clothes and clothes Brother, I will return them." muttered Tama in front of the family photo displayed on the table in his secret home. Then I rushed to the bathroom to clean her body.
...----------------...
In the forest south of Bukit Peak, Harjo and Khalid were talking about Tama. They also discussed the issue of school beaya for Khalid and Tama.
" What should we do, Mother? To eat alone, we have to rely on the results of selling vegetables that are now priced down. If Grandpa wants to send Tama to school, we should be able to earn even more money."
" Khalid, aren't you happy that Tama I'm going to college? After all, he is an orphan whose fate is not as lucky as you. Just imagine, from what age he lived alone until now he was still alive. He must have suffered a very bitter suffering. Grandpa was very sorry for him. And if I may, Grandpa actually wanted to cry out loud when he heard Tama's sad story."
" Cake, it's not that I'm not happy. I just feel sorry for Grandpa. Grandpa will work even harder at making money while Grandpa gets older."
" It's okay, hopefully Grandpa is given health and long life to be able to send you to school until the end. You don't have to worry about Grandpa. There's gotta be a way out of our problems."
" Cake, I'll help Grandpa make some money. Tell me how to get the money, cake."
" Khalid, you're a kid. Think about your school. You don't have to think about problems at home. Let Grandpa think about it and find a way out. You learn enough diligently, so a smart and accomplished child. If you can grab it, it's a very meaningful reward for Grandpa."
" Cake me.forgive me. I'm not your biological grandson, but you took care of me and sent me to school. I shouldn't have bothered you, Grandpa. Can I quit school and find a job in the city?" khalid said while hugging Harjo. His affection for the old man in his arms made him unable to hold back his tears.
" Khalid. Don't tell me you're not my grandson. It hurt Grandpa very much. And don't ever drop out of school, Grandpa's never gonna miss. Grandpa will feel very sorry if you have to drop out of school."
" I'm sorry for what I said, Cake. I'm never gonna say that again. Then if I have to go to school and Tama goes to school, how will Grandpa get the money for our school? My school's monthly fee is still three months behind. I can't stand the words of the principal who always charges my school's monthly dues, Cake."
" I'm sorry Grandpa, Khalid. Grandpa promised to pay your school's monthly delinquent. Tomorrow Grandpa will come to the school to discuss this matter all to enroll Tama into the school."
" Cake, I can't bear to see Grandpa continue to be burdened. Let me go to town to make some money, cake. Let Tama go to school, I'll take her school days."
" No, Khalid. You should never drop out of school. You never think about that problem. Let Grandpa think about it. Grandpa promised you, Grandpa will take care of you until the end of Grandpa's life. Hopefully, Grandpa can still meet you until you grow up. Grandpa wants to see you be a successful kid, Khalid."
" Thank you, Grandpa. Thank you for accepting me. I don't know where else to go if there's no Grandpa. I must be dead by now. I love you so much and I don't want to part with you, Daughter."
Khalid was crying in his grandfather's lap. He realized his grandfather was very old. He was so afraid of losing the person who had given him a ride in life. He is eager to help Harjo find money for his daily needs. But Harjo forbade it. When he sees how difficult it is for Harjo to make money to meet his needs, he makes him even more sad. But Khalid could do nothing. He could only cry and hope that a miracle would come his way.
