The teacher opened our afternoon meeting with a prayer, after which the teacher opened a small book of hers and played the questioner, while looking around to make sure everything was present at the meeting.
I still feel Daren's back to me, but I try to ignore it and switch to serving questions from Raka and the girl beside me.
After Master finished checking the attendance of the second year students, Master started our discussion with a recollection plan to be implemented. “I chose two places for our Recollection place, an area near the mountains and near the city border.”.
“Which one will you choose?”
The students became silent, then we made a raffle to find out which place we would choose to recollect later.
There are two options for a place of recollection, the Church on top of the peak that will go to the border of the city of Palopo or the Church that is still within the Toraja region, We write on a piece of paper, then Collect it. After gathering, Master then counted them.
“27 for Churches that still originate in the Toraja region and 25 for Churches on the border, 3 people choose neutral.”.
“Alright, we have decided which one to choose.”
One then asked, “Teacher are there any action activities to collect Fees?”
“Of course, the fees collected later we will use to help the church and children once there.”
After the teacher replied, we nodded in agreement. Of course, because things like this have become our habit. Usually we will set aside our pocket money to fill out our action cards.
The calculation from the current month takes nine months, until the day before the end of the second year. Feeling that nothing will be discussed again, the teacher again led us in prayer to close our activities this afternoon.
By then, it was late afternoon and the school was empty. I walked with the others, heading towards the school gate. And then we all parted ways, I walked along with some other schoolchildren to the public transport parking lot.
I waited a little while for the public transport to be full, the hours showed daylight, the hours to come home for the High School boys. I sat at the very corner by the window, ignoring the high school brothers who were busy gossiping.
Upon my arrival at home, sure enough my grandparents had been waiting for me while my sister who was still at the Elementary School level was cool playing cooking in the yard.
“Why, tumben late return?” Grandma asked.
“Sorry, Mother. There was a brief meeting. We will recollect ahead of class later.”
“Recollections? Where are you going?” grandpa asked me.
“Looks like it was Deri,”
The location of the Church chosen by the teacher is around the area of Deri', South Sulawesi. I've never been there so I still don't know the exact location.
I find it difficult to get permission from my family, unless the conditions are like now there are religious school activities. My family will definitely give me a green ticket, not a red one.
After I finished talking with my grandparents, I headed into my room, changed my clothes and headed to the dining room for lunch, wash the dishes afterwards and then return to the room to study and do schoolwork.
My activities after school weren't much, and also I thought it was kind of boring. At night, we were like any other family. Gather at the dinner table and eat together, brush your teeth and go to bed after the clock shows 21:00 Wita.
The next day, I woke up as usual and did my daily routine before leaving for school. The trip to school was not felt, I arrived before the bell rang. Then we headed to the reading garden to pray together.
The prayer time given to us is approximately 25 minutes. As much as possible we will suffice to complete the five events for today.
In the sacred tradition, the Rosary was first spread by Saint Dominic (221). After our prayers returned to class, the door of the class was opened which indicated that the classmates had also finished their morning worship.
We went in and sat waiting for the teacher to come to teach, Indira noticed me and she asked; “Why did you worship so long? Almost 30 minutes.”
“Oh, so. You should always use that necklace.”
“Not really, I'm thinking of continuing to use it now.”
“Really?” Indira frowning it made me just smile to answer it.
Then the teacher came into the classroom, the first lesson of the day was mathematics. The teacher explained later after that as usual, the teacher provided some questions for us to work on.
When I was focusing on writing about, I held my head up and finally the part I wanted to record was a little hindered by Daren's head.
Her black hair looked smooth and healthy and her back was upright, I didn't want to bother her but I also had to write right away. Therefore, I used my pen to press down on his back.
He looked back and the moment I was made into stone for a moment, Daren looked at me but his lips did not smile at all.
“What?” the tone of voice that Daren used was not rough, not high as well it was rather subtle.
I lowered my head, swallowed my saliva then used a soft voice; “Sorry, your head blocked the part I wanted to write.”
“Oh... ” Daren said so, looking at my handwriting, turning to the teacher and then lifting up his pen and book and placing it right in front of my book.
Then before I spoke, Daren was already ahead of me:
“Look at mine, I'm a bit uncomfortable when someone stares at my back, I prefer it when someone stares at my face.”
‘Someone...Huh, Who?’ this question arises in my mind.
Maybe my brain has absolutely no capacity to understand his words. So for that, I just smiled and thanked him.
The teacher then noticed the rest of the class and his eyes stopped on Daren's back, frowned and spoke; “Daren, what are you doing by annoying your classmates?”
Daren turned his head forward and answered the teacher's question: “Teacher, I was only helping Rafaella because she slightly did not understand some parts. ”
Damn, liar!
“Then, great. Just go ahead, classmates do have to help each other.”
“...” I was silent because my voice was blocked in my throat. Why did Daren use that excuse? Obviously I think Daren himself knows that I'm not stupid in math.
I can do it on my own, without anyone's help. I think this is just an illogical reason for him to have a friend for the story.
Daren then smiled with pride on her face and said; “How am I great right?”
Kris who sat beside him replied; “Yes, you are great at finding excuses!”
Indira also replied: “Yes, you are great to find a reason to bother my best friend. ”
“...”
“?!” all of you, I don't understand.
