CHAPTER 43

Despite her successful career with two jewelry stores in Paris and one in New York, Niko felt that there was something lacking in her life. Niko looked around for someone when she found him, she smiled.

“Niko,” greet the person who welcomed her. “Welcome back. How was your flight.”

“Pawn. Thank you, David.”

Niko met Davit for the first time three years ago, when the young man was still an apprentice at Bardeux Jewelry. Niko likes the jewelry she makes. David was a great jeweler. His work never disappoints Niko. Especially the design model. They seem to understand each other. So, when Niko opened a jewelry store in Paris, she took David in. And now, two years later, David has become a personal assistant and good friend.

Success in three stores makes Niko want to open a jewelry store in her own country. And since David is also both from Indonesia, Niko invites him along.

“All jewelry from Paris has arrived in our store,” David gave a report while walking through the crowd. “If there is no obstruction, you can officially open your store next week. Maybe next month we can hold a jewelry exhibition to promote NF Jewelry.”

Niko agreed. “Good capsule, David. You take care of all the details. If it's final, explain the proposal to me.”

Niko Fareli Jewelry was first established in Paris. After two years of working for Julien, Niko decided to open her own business. And Julien fully supports that proposal. Julien believes Niko can succeed. In a short period of time, Niko managed to earn a double profit. And he decided to open his second store in Paris, then in New York with the help of George Finley, who has now become a great theater performer. Niko sat in the front seat of the theater when George played his first role. With the relationship of George and his father, Niko's store in New York can grow rapidly.

“You haven't been back here in a long time, have you?” Ask David. “Yes. Last time I came back here was my school reunion party.” Niko recalls her sadness at that time because Laura did not come.

David continues with plans to increase sales of Niko's new store. Niko listened to David's proposal seriously. Suddenly, Niko's eyes stopped. A girl wearing a flower-patterned dress made her stop stepping. His heart stopped for a moment. Niko closed her eyes, then opened them again. The face is still there. Laura. Maybe he was dreaming, but he wanted to grab that face.

Niko let go of the handle of her suitcase to David's surprise and immediately stopped talking then Niko ran as fast as she could among the crowd. “Laura!” Calling short. Breathing gasps. Niko saw the girl enter a black car. When Niko was about to approach the car, the shadow of the girl had already disappeared behind the car door.

The car carrying the girl she suspected Laura had darted away. A few moments later, David approached her. “Niko, are you okay? Why are you running so fast?” David looked at Niko in confusion.

“I think..I see people I know. So I chased him,” Niko explained terbatabata, still out of breath.

“You met the guy?” David was half confused. During his time with Niko, never once did his boss look as desperate as he is today.

Niko shook her head. “No.”

“You want me to buy you a drink?” David's Proposal.

“No need.” Niko's breathing has begun to be regular. “Maybe I saw the wrong person. Let's go.”

David just nodded.

“So, how was your second honeymoon in Italy?” A few kilometers from the airport, in a black car, Laura smiled at papa and mama.

Laura grimaces. “He still hasn't given up too?” “Mama tasa no,” said mama while laughing.

“How's your restaurant?” It was my turn to ask. “You didn't do something too tiring?”

Laura pouted. Papa and Antonio are always worried about his health. As if he were fragile. Though already one knows Laura can walk normally without any problems. At the restaurant, Laura was not allowed to stand for more than an hour. At his parents' house, Papa always told him to sit down. Thankfully, Laura did not live there every day. Otherwise, Laura could be annoyed by being bored. In her old home Laura is free to do what she wants. Papa still insists Laura stay with him. But Laura knew she wouldn't stay at home in a big house with a lot of helpers, so she didn't have to do a single piece of homework. Laura was already used to doing things herself, so it felt strange that someone else was working on it for her.

Mama finally managed to convince papa that Laura would be happier living in her own home. Eventually Laura compromises, every day of the holiday will be spent at her parents' house, and every working day Laura will stay at her old house.

Laura looked at papa again. He knew that Papa was really worried about him. Laura smile. “Restaurant remains crowded. I take good care of myself. How not, if Antonio is also like a prison warden who snapped at me if I stood up later?”

Papa nodded in agreement. “Good.”

“Tonight you stayed with us, right?” Mom clasped Laura's hand half begging. “Mama misses you. It's been two weeks we haven't met.”

Laura could never refuse my mother's request. He nodded.

Mama smiled happily. “Mama will tell you about your experience in Italy.”

Laura heard my mom tell me a long story on the way home. Laura is happy that mom and dad are back safely.

David stopped his car in front of an apartment complex. “The Rafael apartment consists of four apartment buildings, two swimming pools, a spa, and one open tennis court.”

Niko took out her suitcase from the trunk while listening to David's explanation. Actually Niko planned to build his own house, but did not get a strategic location. So for a while he asked David to find an apartment.

“Thank you for finding me an apartment, David.” It was already night and Niko wanted to rest. After visiting her shop, Niko was satisfied.

David nodded. “This is the key to her apartment. Your room's in building A, fourteenth floor. Your car will be shipped tomorrow morning.”

Niko took the room key from David's hand. “Thank you again for taking care of everything.”

“Sama-sama,bos.” David smiled as he got into the car. Niko can't wait to take a shower and rest. The elevator door opens and Niko enters. On the second floor, the elevator door opened again, a man entered. The man looked at Niko's suitcase. “You're new?”
