All day I kept thinking about it while trying to hold back my tears.
"What if I'm a killer, Colin? What if they really die." I said worriedly.
"Shopie, please," he said, his forehead still wrinkled, his dark brown eyes staring into my eyes. "It's possible that Yuni and Anna are not sick at all. Maybe it's just your imagination. They might be healthy."
"No way," I murmured gloomily.
"Oh. I know!" Colin's face turned bright. "We'll just ask Melly's mom."
"Mother Melly?"
Melly's mother was the custodian of our UKS school. Long ago I understood what Colin meant. But finally know too.
It's correct. If you're going to be absent, your parents should call Ms. Melly to tell you the cause. Most likely Ms. Melly will be able to tell us why Yuni and Anna did not attend school today.
I jumped, my chair almost fell.
"Great idea, Colin!" myrag. I ran towards the UKS room.
"Wait on! I'm coming with you!" colin shouted as he hurriedly followed.
Our shoes were ticking on the hard floor as we ran down the long hallway towards the UKS room. We arrived when Ms. Melly was locking the door. She was a rather fat woman, short, I think she was about forties, her hair was black and was carried over her head.
"Time of rest" he said as he watched us stop beside him. "What are they cooking today? I'm so hungry."
"Bu Melly, can you tell us why today Yuni and Anna are not attending school?" pressed with a breath of breath, I did not answer the question.
"Well" he answered. Since I spoke too quickly and was too excited, I don't think he knew what I meant.
"June Bonita and Anna Clarissa?" my heart is pounding. "Why don't they go to school today?"
I saw that the pale gray eyes of Ms. Melly looked surprised. Then he subdued his sight.
"Yuni and Anna, they're not
there," he said sadly.
I look up at him. My mouth was terrified. "They don't exist?" my many.
"They're what?" my screams.
Melly tried to pull the key from the door.
"They went to the doctor" he repeated. "So morning their mother called. They're very sick. Both kids got the flu or something. They feel weak. Can't get into school."
I breathed a sigh of relief. I'm glad Ms. Melly was concentrating on pulling the keys, so she didn't see my frightened face. Ms. Melly walked quickly down the hallway. As soon as it's invisible, I
slumped on the wall.
"At least they didn't die" I complained. "She made me half to death scared!"
Colin shakes. "Bu Melly scares me too" he admitted. "seen? Yuni and Anna just got the flu. I'm sure Shop"
"They don't have the flu" I insisted. "They're weak at my request."
"Call them later" he suggested. "You'll see for yourself. They may feel better."
"I can't wait until later" I said in a trembling voice. "I have to do something, Colin. I had to do something to prevent them from getting weaker and eventually dying!"
"Calm down, Shopie" he said.
I walked in front of him. Some kids rushed
passing. Someone called me, but I didn't answer.
"We have to go to class" Colin said. "I think you're making this up for no reason, Shop. If you want to wait until tomorrow"
"She said I had three requests!" I cried I didn't hear Colin say a word. "The one I've used."
"Shopie” Colin shook his head in disagreement.
"I have to find him!" I said. "I have to find that strange woman. You didn't see? I can have the first request cancelled. He said I had three requests. So my second request could be to remove the first request!"
This idea makes me feel so much better. But Colin then made me feel gloomy with one question:
"How did you find him, Shop?"
