Chapter 66

After the magrib prayer together, Rena was preparing dinner in the kitchen. While Sarah's mom went straight into her room and Adi she was teaching.

Once all is ready Rena calls Miss Sarah and Adi for dinner. The three of them ate together, but tonight the atmosphere was cold. Because it was Sarah who kept quiet. After the meal, Rena cleaned the dining table and washed the dirty tableware.

Miss Sarah went straight into Adi's room while she headed to the guest room. He intentionally wanted to be alone first. In the guest room Adi cries in memory of his late wife.

"I'm sorry baby, I'm not being sincere about your departure.. But I just can't love another woman anymore.You're the owner of my heart. " Adi cried while looking at a picture of his late wife on his phone.

"What shall I do, O God ? My mother wanted me to marry Rena, but I was afraid of hurting her because I couldn't love her. And if I don't want to marry Rena, I'm sure I'm going to let my mom down and I don't want to hurt my mom. God help me." Adi is still sobbing.

"Well, I'd better talk about this with Rena and also Mom after praying Isya' later." Adi did not feel at home for long in silence by his mother. Because she loved her mother so much.

"Darling, I'm sorry if I have to marry Rena. Not that I forgot you but that's all I did just for mom. You can understand, right, baby ?I'm sorry, yeah.." Adi said while touching a photo of his wife on his phone.

The sound of Adzan isya' is heard, Adi immediately took ablution and out of the room there was already Miss Sarah in the family mosque but Rena has not gone out of the room.

"Mom, Rena hasn't left the room yet ?" Ask Adi to her mother.

" It seems not yet, for a moment I call you first" said Ms Sarah without seeing Adi.

"It seems like mom was really mad at me. I can't hurt you mom. Yes, I'll obey you, but please be patient for a while until I'm ready." Inner Adi.

Rena and Ms. Sarah have arrived at the mosque they immediately perform the prayer isya'. After finishing the prayer, Adi wants to talk to Rena and Miss Sarah in the family room. The three of them had gathered in the living room. But no one spoke yet, they were still silent.

"What is this ? Did I make a mistake ? Why is this God ?" Rena looks agitated.

After quite a long silence, Adi exhales her slowly.she sees her mother who still inhabits her.

"Adi, you're not asking for too much, are you? I just want to see you happy, son. I have a happy wife and family. That's all I want. Is it wrong for me to ask you to marry a woman of your choice ? I love you so much and I love Rena so much she's a good woman." Said Miss Sarah who began to shed her tears.

Rena who was quite surprised by what she heard could only shut up. She did not expect that Miss Sarah would match her with her son. Rena felt inappropriate. She is just a village woman, a widow and a school who did not graduate how could she be with a young doctor who is handsome and authoritative like Adi's doctor.
