A woman stood in front of the stove with a frying pan in the middle of the turbulent frying fish that had been half-cooked. The woman was Paridah, who stared at her cooking with pus while occasionally sobbing and wiping away her tears that would not stop dripping.
A sense of happiness was clearly felt in the recesses of his soul when he realized that he still had the opportunity to cook food for his daughter. He was also grateful that his beloved daughter did not give up after the storm of the test of life so fierce hit him.
The anger of Paridah has not subsided, the sadness is still not broken. His lips still give thanks for his daughter's return, but he does not deny that his heart still expects God to give justice to people who hurt his daughter vilely and cruelly.
The frail body was stunned as someone hugged him from behind. White hands coiled around his neck along with the chin of a woman leaning on his shoulder. Her lips kissed Parida's back with a soft voice that she occasionally heard.
“Do not cry again mother, now is the time for us to be happy and grateful,” the sentence that Paridah heard in her left ear.
The embrace of the princess was getting tighter, making Paridah's mind realize that her daughter had indeed returned and would not leave again.
The woman nodded slowly. He patted Jharna's hand gently. Her lips, which were shaking with tears, were now quietly blasting.
“Sorry mommy yes son. If you do not want you to accept Mr. Sanjaya's proposal, then you will not suffer that much. You will not feel the pain is ignored and removed. Sorry mom, I'm so sorry.” The woman bowed lethargicly, with tears returning to shatter. His sagging shoulders were now moving up and down, in a rhythm of his deep cries.
Jharna's tears shed hearing her mother's apology. True, all the suffering began when he agreed master Sanjaya's proposal for his son. A man who has never been seen, let alone known.
“Bu, it's all over. I accept that as my destiny. You don't have to feel guilty like this. All there is a way already there is a destiny and it is clear that God is so good by giving me a second chance.”
“There's nothing else we need to regret Mom, I've received everything.” Jharna filled out his sentence.
There was a rough breathing in between the cries of Paridah. His hand that was far from that soft impression, rubbed Jharna's hand affectionately. Success gives peace to his soul that was agitated.
“Jani now wants to organize a new life. With the people that Jani loves. Jani does not know what Jani will face in the future, but Jani believes that everything will be able to pass and face Jani well. Yes, ma'am, we're both dealing with everything. Ibu is one of Jani's sources of strength and that is more than enough to encourage Jani,” said Jharna as she kissed the head of the mother who had given birth to him.
Paridah turned around, only this time she had the courage to look at her daughter's face. He stared fixedly at the pair of eyes that never changed, loving and shade. On the side of Jharna's face, he wiped it with his thumb.
“Mother is proud of you. I was lucky to give birth to a child as good as you,” Paridah said with her voice stammering. His hand rubbed the strands of Jharna hair that covered part of his face, even though there were many changes to the figure of his daughter, but in fact he was still a sincere Anjani.
“Makasih Bu, Jani seneng if mom is proud of Jani. We close our story yesterday, Mom, we deserve to be happy in the future. From now on, we will only be happy.” Jharna's delicate hand rubbed the mother's tears gently, making the corner of the middle-aged woman's lips curl a smile. He nodded slightly, agreeing with Jharna's words.
“Yes, have you not seen the fish yet? Jani is already laper, can not wait to eat mother's cooking,” with a shrewd Jharna diverts the sadness of Paridah.
“Udah, soon to mature. Come on you ready the plate.” Although his voice was a raucous fate, Paridah was already much better.
He lifted the fish from the frying pan and put it on the frying sieve, waiting for the new tyre oil he put on the plate Jharna prepared. “Waawww... the smell is very good Bu,” said Jharna with round eyes happy.
“Mother deliberately fried medium size, so mateng sampe into,”
“Jani make soy sauce ya Bu,”
“Yes, try making. But don't get too pityed,”
The chatter of two women who were fighting in the kitchen made Kelvin smile. For a long time the man stood in his place and witnessed for himself how much affection the two great women had. He also shrank his tears that I do not know since when to come dripping. Her lips now smiled at Jharna's warm interaction with her mother.
“You deserve to be happy and I will make sure it is for you,” Kelvin said with confidence. This promise that Kelvin then kept in his heart and mind.
All the cooking is on the dining table. Although the side dish is simple, but snagat is appetizing.
"Don't Kelvin like bad weather?" ask Paridah. In his hand he held a plate containing steamed cassava leaves.
"I want to try, Mom" Kelvin said.
"It's a try, but if you don't like it, don't force it to eat." Paridah put the plate near Kelvin, side by side with sambal.
"Yes, Mom, I tried." Kelvin took some steamed sheets of cassava leaves, poked them into the chili as Jharna did, then he devoured them.
Everyone was silent, his attention was on Kelvin who was chewing the cassava leaves in his mouth. They're waiting for Kelvin's response.
"Where?" Paridah was really impatient.
"Emm, Kelvin's willing to enjoy steaming these cassava leaves for the rest of Kelvin's life. As long as Jani is cooking. Can you please, ma'am?" kelvin asked with implied intent.
The woman smiled slightly at Kelvin's words. He understands the true direction of the Kelvin sentence.
"Jani can cook other menus, only sometimes like salinity. Does Kelvin's son mind?" I asked back.
"Mom,..." Jharna held her mother's hand beside her. Ashamed of himself by Paridah's questions on the man he loves.
"It doesn't matter if it's salty, I won't bother about it. After all, I don't want to make Jani a cook and spend her time in the kitchen. In the right to do whatever he likes, I will not burden him with things that make him difficult and uncomfortable."
"Jani is important to me Ma'am, if mother pleases, I want to fulfill my happiness with Jani. Can I be Ma?" Kelvin delivered his point.
Jani was speechless to hear the good intentions Kelvin conveyed to his mother. He could only look at Kelvin with emotion.
"Especially what a mother looks for if not the happiness of her children. As long as Jani is happy, mother will not get in the way" Parida said with a small smile rising at the corner of her lips. He knew exactly that Kelvin had proved his affection for Jharna. What else should he doubt?
"Thank you Mom, thank you so much" Kelvin said with a smile. His heart was pounding very fast while expressing all his feelings and asking for Paridah's blessing. But now, his heart was beating softly as if finding the right melody as he looked at Jharna and felt a happiness he never thought he would get.
"Hem, eat a lot. You must be very tired" said Paridah who brought the fish closer to Kelvin. All the side dishes are now near Kelvin, the man he believes will take good care of his daughter.
