Until arriving at the apartment, Jharna was still mute with his pale face. He sat down on the sofa, staring at the tablecloth with his empty gaze. Nothing he said in the slightest. This girl is in shock. His hands clasped tightly to each other as if he was gathering strength and trying to get out of fear.
"Yes, I brought him home to the apartment" the voice belonged to Kelvin who spoke to Amilny by phone. "Yes, thank you, yes" he added before closing the call.
Kelvin who was taking a drink could only look at the girl with no understanding. The woman's body seemed to tremble and occasionally cupped her face in fear.
A cup of tea Kelvin made for Jharna. He hoped that this warm drink would calm Jharna down. Then he brought her closer while sitting next to Jharna.
“Drink,” said Kelvin while offering a cup of Jharna's favorite tea. The woman's eyes flickered in shock, there was a lot of unrest lingering at the tip of her eyes. His trembling hand took over the cup and sipped it softly.
After drinking it, Kelvin took over the cup and put it on the table. He looked at the figure of Jharna with clingy. “Someone you want to tell me?” ask Kelvin. Just this time he asked, after that he only noticed this long-haired woman.
There was a rough gasp of Jharna's breath, he rubbed his face and then rubbed his hair with the origin, very upset it seemed. he slightly bent, holding his head which continued to rotate the memory of Andrew and Cheryl.
“Or do you want to rest first? Let me drop off,” again Kelvin asked.
The woman did not chim in, she turned her head and looked at Kelvin with both eyes as if swaying between the ripples of tears stored in the corner of her round eyes. Look sharp with thin eyeliner framing it.
“I met them,” said Jharna suddenly. He felt that he could not keep it alone as this made him uneasy.
“They?” Kelvin scrunched his forehead not understanding.
Jharna nodded in agreement, “Cheryl and Andrew, were present at the event. We were able to meet?” Jharna looked at his trembling hands. The hands of two people were so warm, unfortunately not soothing, but instead loading uneasily.
Kelvin nodded in understanding, now he understood why Jharna was so frightened. No timpalan was heard, Kelvin just pulled Jharna's body closer and hugged him tightly. Jharna could only lean his head against Kelvin's chest. The best place he needs right now. He could hear the resonant sound of Kelvin's heartbeat, similar to his.
“Do they recognize you?” kelvin's voice sounded slow, full of anxiety. His hands painstakingly rubbed Jharna's head.
The woman shook her head. “I don't think.” The heavy breathing was again heard. “They look happy Vin. Their smiles are wide. Cheryl wrapped her hands around Andrew's arms, two hands united to get rid of me.” Jharna sentence disconnected. He closed his eyes tightly, hoping that the shadows on the faces of the two men would soon disappear from his eyes.
“Didn't you also promise that after all the difficulties you face, you will also be happy?” ask Kelvin. The woman then turned her head to look at Kelvin's face above her.
The distance between their faces was so close that Kelvin could feel the anxiety Jharna was currently feeling.
“Yes, I was expecting that. But, looking at the faces of the two of them, the fear was even more real Vin.” Jharna broke her embrace to straighten her body. “I still remember, how when Cheryl pushed me firmly to the edge of the abyss. I screamed for help, but he grinned while stepping on my hand. Oh yes, god..” Jharna could not continue his sentence. He covered his face with trembling hands. The shadow was becoming more and more vivid and frightening. Cheryl's evil grin filled both her views.
“I want to be free from this fear. But it feels very difficult.” Jharna buried his face in Kelvin's right chest.
“I guess, we shouldn't forget that incident. But accept that this has ever happened in our lives. Accept the fact that we were once so stepped on. But for now, our lives are not in their hands, but in our own. We decide what to do in the future. Aren't we going to keep this up, Jharna?” The sentence was neatly arranged from Kelvin's mouth. Not just to remind Jharna, but to remind himself.
Jharna's mind confirmed Kelvin's words in truth. He straightened his body, no longer leaning on Kelvin. He felt that Kelvin's remarks were like a reminder of his current condition. He remembered that he had a grudge to be avenged. There was a pain that he had to return to the two people. There was no way he would continue to be silent like this, regretting his past misfortune?
Jharna nodded slowly, “You were right Vin. We can't continue like gini,” said Jharna.
Kelvin smiled a little. He subconsciously rubbed Jharna's head slowly. The woman returned her smile. “Rest, you need to calm down. We'll think about everything again tomorrow. Tonight, stop thinking about anything. Give yourself time to accept that they are in our lives,” Kelvin said gently.
Jharna nodded slowly. He tried to stand up, but almost fell because his legs were still shaking. Self-conscious, Kelvin carried the woman with both hands. Jharna did not protest, as he did need Kelvin's help. The woman wrapped her hands around Kelvin's neck and stared fixedly at Kelvin in front of his eyes. Then he rested his head on the chest of the field. Look, Kelvin's heart is hammering. His breathing was occasionally restrained but the man continued to take Jharna to the room.
Slowly once Kelvin laid Jharna on his bed. He pulled out a blanket to cover Jharna's body. Before leaving, he took the time to sit next to Jharna's bed and looked at the woman with a line of smiles. He gently rubbed Jharna's head. “Rest,” the sound is very soft.
Jharna nodded small. He pulled the blanket over his shoulder and left only his head and neck still visible. Kelvin turned to turn off the headlights. The sleeping lights turn yellowish in one corner of the room, making the atmosphere very warm.
“Vin,” call Jharna when Kelvin will go. The man turned his head, waiting for Jharna's next sentence. “Thank you yes, sorry I have taken a lot of your nicotine,” added Jharna in earnest.
The man smiled faintly, “Anytime,” his ideal. No objection at all for him to help Jharna. “Good night, Jharna. Sleep soundly,” added the man.
“You too Vin, sleep soundly,” reply Jharna. Only this time he could breathe a sigh of relief.
Seeing that Jharna was already fine, Kelvin decided to get out of Jharna's room. That woman needs to rest like her. Unfortunately, when he went into the room, instead of resting, the contents of his head instead invited the man to overthinking. He sat on the edge of his bed with an erratic mind, prone to fidgeting.
“What kind of revenge is Jharna planning? What about taking that man back? Is Jharna planning to return to have that man?” those three questions were the most predominately buzzing in Kelvin's head. Somehow his chest felt hot imagining those three main things.
He took his phone and opened the gallery. He looked at the photo of Jharna when he first found it. Her stocky body, her innocent face and all the things in Jharna that used to be her favorite, this woman's ability to survive fascinated her. That woman has changed a lot now. Will he remain the same Jharna? What is on that woman's mind now? Not to go back to Adrew, is it?
