Andrew's body was still trembling after seeing Anjani fall into the water. He was afraid, yes very scared because the stocky body no longer appeared on the surface of the choppy sea. He peeked a little down there, his eyes immediately closed when the waves look so hard hit the rock until Andrew's chest like a throw. His courage to see the altitude suddenly disappear.
“Cheryl, she's missing Cheryl. He did not appear again to the surface,” the man muttered fearfully. Squatting while shuffling her hair in frustration. His face was deathly pale and his trembling hands covered his ears and he was beaten. He wanted to banish the sound of Anjani's cry when he fell into the sea. It feels so good.
“Iyaa, I saw it myself. Isn't that how our bully disappeared, baby?” Cheryl smiled cynically. He approached Andrew and crouched down in front of the man. For him a relief because finally Anjani no longer pestered his life.
“What if he dies, I bring him here, I take him on vacation, I do,”
“Ssttt!” Cheryl hissed, then hugged Andrew tightly. “Don't panic Andrew!” he said lightly. “Don't you think he's dead, you don't have to think about his lawsuit? You do not need to think about the distribution of gono gini treasures. You don't have to think about sharing your grandfather's legacy. Everything is safe Andrew, safe in your hands. As long as you stay quiet. I will be quiet too. Understand?” The woman was so good at giving bad suggestions to the man, whom she was hugging.
Andrew shook his head, his conscience still talking that what he was doing was an abomination.
“No Cheryl, I never wanted to kill her. Even if I didn't love her, I never thought of killing her. It's evil Cheryl, it's evil.” The man's voice sounded trembling. He looked at his hands that were trembling like they were filled with blood from someone he had just killed.
“You're not evil Andrew. You didn't do anything. He had fallen on his own because he slipped and his oversized body was not firmly holding on to the lamp post. Like it happened. It's not your fault or ours. Remember it Andrew.” Cheryl tried to convince Andrew.
“But we have to look for it. People will ask me, how will I answer it?” Andrew is getting worse. He gripped Cheryl's shirt firmly and her body trembled even more.
Cheryl does not hide. He broke his arms from Andrew and cupped the man's face. “Hey, look at me Andrew!” said the woman while holding Andrew's face so as not to turn away from him. “SEE I'M STUPID!” the woman snapped as Andrew could only duck.
The man trembled even more, his desperate and frightened eyes staring at Cheryl lethargicly.
“We will report to the police, but with a note that we must match the description. That way we'll be safe. You don't want us to go to jail? Don't want to, huh?!” Cheryl patted Andrew's face hard enough for him to wake up from his fear.
“Yaa, I don't want to be in jail.” Andrew's empty eyes shed tears.
“Good, then, say what I say. Follow the story I made.” Cheryl looked at Andrew intently, so sharply that the man nodded in agreement. Cheryl smiles with satisfaction after believing Andrew is under her control.
“The woman is saddened by not being confident with her condition. He decided to jump down there. We tried to ban him, but he whistled hard to jump. That's the story, okay?” Cheryl gave the idea to her man.
“Ta-but what if they ask what I can't answer? What if I accidentally answer something that is not supposed to be?” the handsome man was still frightened, because he realized the police would not immediately believe his description.
Andrew was merely pensive, not agreeing or denying Cheryl's orders. He only knew he had to save himself from the law. He was not aware, if one day the rot of the carcass will remain sniffed.
An hour later, the cliff was filled with people searching. The police and SAR are looking for the whereabouts of Anjani's body that fell into the open ocean. Even before dawn, they continued to search, hoping his body could still be found and his life could still be saved.
Unfortunately, until sunrise, the shrubby figure was not found. Andrew and Cheryl officially reported that the incident was a suicide attempt by Anjani because she felt insecure. They were allowed to go home by police after several hours of questioning.
Cheryl's tactics went smoothly. 1x24 hours they managed to get out of the police station because they were allowed to go home. Andrew also needed medical treatment for his depression. There is no evidence to deny the events told by Cheryl smoothly. The case was closed with an alleged suicide attempt.
Cheryl smiles happily at the sunrise on the eastern horizon. He could breathe a sigh of relief because finally the barrier stone of their relationship disappeared from the face of this earth. The universe is really on his side. He rubbed his stomach still flat, happiness burst when he imagined that he and Andrew would soon be possessed by a member of their love. The woman rested her head on Andrew's sagging shoulder. The man still did not say much and seemed to be a clear picture that this man was indeed sad.
“Thank you for perfecting this sad story, Andrew,” the inner woman who saw Andrew was completely silent in her guilt. The man starts hanging his life on Cheryl out of fear if all this is revealed.
“Don't be afraid Mas, I won't leave you. We'll live happily ever after. Hem?” said the woman with a soft word. He enjoyed the ride home through the winding streets holding Andrew's hand and resting his head on the man's shoulder. Andrew did not chim in, he was silent and for Cheryl, obviously this is very good to put a damper on this issue.
The sad news of Anjani's departure has reached the ears of the mother who lives in the village. The woman who worked as a vegetable farmer could only sit weakly in her vast fields. He stared at every pile of vegetables he had just finished harvesting, with sadness. Highlight his eyes pushy with a shattered feeling. A thread of tears trickled down the corner of his eye as he realized that his only princess was gone forever.
Which mother's heart was not broken when she found her daughter who left first left her. He didn't even have a body to bury. There was no room he could visit. The child he loved with all his heart, had gone away with a sense of sadness and worthlessness. The woman's heart really hurt.
Parida is in her place. Her heart was completely broken as she remembered that there was no longer that independent and feisty daughter. Honestly, he did not believe that Anjani could be so desperate as to choose to end his life in a tragic way. Hasn't it always been said that he was very happy living with Andrew? Her parents were very kind and loved her. But why would he choose to leave in this way?
Paridah still cannot accept. Anjani's words continued to ring in his ears. “Bu, please take care of your health. It's just the mom Jani has. I'm sorry that Jani hasn't been able to please mom. Jani shouldn't erase Jani's dream as an accountant. I worked hard to send Jani to school, but Jani ended up like this. I can't give any pride at all to my mother. Sorry Jani yes, Bu.”
The soft, delicate voice was ringing in Paridah's ears when her daughter contacted her last week. Paridah again sobbed with her shoulders moving up and down while cupping her face with dirty hands filled with soil from the vegetables she was harvesting. He still did not expect that it would be his last conversation with Anjani.
“Mother love Jani, Jani is mother's treasure. Why would Jani leave mom this way?” Paridah can only be her enemy and there will never be an answer for her. Because the child he wanted to ask, is now in a different realm.
“Jani, how do you stretch your life without you?”
