A woman ran quickly carrying a large tentengan bag in her hand in a long hospital corridor. “Excuse me,” he said as several people blocked his path. His breathing panted towards a treatment room. She is Cheryl, the woman who just returned from Bandung after meeting with her artist friends. He was still wearing golf clothes to meet his son, having not had time to change clothes at all.
A few hours ago he got word that Leon was rushed to the hospital for dehydration and convulsions. Cheryl's face looks panicked, unable to hide her guilt and regret for leaving her ailing son. He should have taken Leon to the doctor immediately when his caretaker told him that Leon's fever was running high. But he is more concerned with his work, yes it is his fault.
Inside a VIP ward, there was the sound of Leon's roaring cries. His voice until hoarse, it seems Leon cried since then and failed to be calmed by Andrew and Widi. Cheryl quickly enters and finds Leon rampaging through Andrew's arms. Thrashed, I don't know what he wanted.
Without warning, Cheryl immediately approached Leon. Just drop the backpack. “Honey, this is the same Mami son. Hey, Leon,” call Cheryl to the kid. He had already stretched out his hand to take over Leon.
“You what are you? Come play gedong aja! Change clothes!” yelled Andrew with glaring eyes.
“But Leon cried, here I carry first.” Cheryl did not have the heart to see Leon who bathed in sweat and cried to bouncy her body. No tears came out of the eyes of the six-month-old toddler. It just keeps thrashing around in Andrew's sling.
“Change clothes first!!” Andrew insists on rejecting Cheryl, yelling at the woman.
Cheryl was shocked by her husband's arrest. It's not usual for Andrew to snap at him like this. He also saw Widi who smiled cynically at him. Cheryl realized, Everyone is cornering her.
“Udah, you change clothes first there. This is a hospital, Leon's condition is also weak, do not add to it by carrying germs from outside.” Widi, who is usually neutral, looks cynical this time.
Cheryl had to comply. He went into the bathroom, changed his clothes with the clothes in his bag. He also cleaned some parts of his body. Not too long because he could not bear to hear Leon's crying voice that was like pain.
“Leon, this is dear Dady. Don't pull the infusion, son. Later you are infused again.” Andrew tried to calm his son who kept crying. But Leon continued to cry and would not be silent. The infusion hose he pulled with one other hand, making Widi hold her grandson's hand tightly, so as not to rebel.
“Try me to carry Pak,” bargain nurse who just finished cleaning infusion tool. This is the third time the infusion on Leon's hand has swelling and must be replaced. The child is very active, because the fluid in his body has begun to change. Even so, Leon is indeed quite difficult to calm down, probably because of his uncomfortable body.
“Please, Sus.” Andrew gave his son to the nurse.
“Sstt, Leon.. same aunty yuk. We see giraffes..” Take the young nurse. He held Leon with both hands and brought him closer to the wall of the room, where there was a giraffe sticker there.
Leon is still sweet until a hiccup, “Liat nih, waaahh there is a giraffe. It's a long neck. Leon want to hold?” the nurse persuaded.
With a hiccup Leon turns to the picture of a giraffe on the wall. Sometimes he still cries, but it's not as bad as it was. He noticed the picture of the giraffe and his hand was outstretched wanting to touch it.
“Haay mr giraffe, this is Leon. Leon was a great boy, a strong boy.” The nurse touched Leon's hand to the wall, causing the boy to smash his hand against the wall in a fit of anxiety. He also looked at the nurse.
“There are koalas also in the tree, Leon want to see Koala?” hail the nurse.
“Ta ta ta ta...” It was just a voice that came out of Leon's mouth hoarsely and faltered as it was still a hiccup after crying. At the very least, Leon can already be calmed down.
“Leon, come with Mami,” after changing clothes, Cheryl is approaching again.
“You're with Mami?” hail the nurse.
Leon only looked at Cheryl for a moment, the boy's lips thinned wide and then came back crying with great sadness. He hid his red face in the nurse's chest. “Ooo... baby.. It's okay, Leon see the giraffe first yes Mami. Later just carry Mami,” said the nurse who is still trying to calm Leon. Looks like Leon doesn't want to be carried by his mother.
“Mas that's what the hell? I work for our family too, not for me!” Cheryl starts to get hooked for feeling repeatedly in the corner.
“Create our family what? My income is more than enough to support our family and buy your style. You just pursue your popularity, feed your ego!” Andrew pointed at Cheryl's face with his large index finger.
“What the hell are you doing Mas?!” Cheryl brushed off Andrew's index finger, not liking it when Andrew pointed at his face.
“Udah-upped! How come you guys are making a noise anyway? This is a hospital! Leon's sick again! It's not time to turn each other on like this. Just focus on Leon's recovery!” Widi tried to win. He looked at Andrew and Cheryl in turn.
Andrew seemed to exhale violently, he ruffled his waist and turned his face away from Cheryl. Cheryl was silent, with tears in her eyes. He looked at Leon who could be calmed by the nurse standing in the corner of the room, rubbing Leon's back.
Leon was calmer, the boy began to fall asleep in the nurse's lap. Slowly the nurse took Leon to his bed, and laid the boy down carefully.
“Let's take a break, ma'am. I'll check the temperature again two hours later. Hopefully the temperature will soon drop and not rise again,” said the nurse as she patted Leon's thigh to fall asleep soundly.
“I can see his specialist doctor, sus?” ask Cheryl curious.
“Doctor specialist will visit tomorrow morning, if you have any questions, you can tell the doctor first,” said the nurse calmly. Cheryl just nodded slowly, understanding correctly the nurse said. “If you wake up, the adek later in love milk again can kok Bu. Or ASI from his mother directly can also, so that his recovery is fast.”
“I have no ASI sus, she drank it from birth,” Cheryl said while looking at Leon's sleeping face.
“Boleh, later suffor given yes Ma'am. A little bit but often, be careful not to choke,” the nurse said.
“Good Sus,” Cheryl finally obedient. The nurse left the Sanjaya family after the condition calmed down.
Cheryl sits next to Leon's bed. He looked at Leon's sleeping face. His eyes were swollen from crying continuously. Cheryl felt guilty, her heart rippled to tears. He wants to touch Leon's hand, but Leon's hand is swollen from the infusion. He could not bear, afraid that his touch even made Leon in pain.
“Lain times, you think again if you want to travel. I already know the sick child, even in living out of town,” said Widi with a cynical tone of speech.
“Udah deh Mah, don't keep talking. I also know I was wrong. But Mamah was also wrong for not taking care of Leon and instead went arisan, happy with Mamah's socialite friends.” Cheryl did not stay silent, she replied her mother's words were no less cynical.
“Loh, how come be wrong with me? Heh, don't you forget who Leon is? Your child! Why am I being held responsible? You have more obligation to take care of him. Do not doubt there are sisters, all of whom you hand over to the sisters. You yourself live freely, as if you have no obligations. If you are not ready to have children, your work does not make children mulu!” widi exclaimed in annoyance.
“Mah,” Andrew immediately broke up. “Why are you fighting here anyway? There outside! Don't disturb Leon sleep.” The man tried to remind. “You're Cheryl's fault, accept that. And Mamah also do not continue to mojokin Cheryl, we are all here wrong for ignoring Leon's condition. Fortunately there was Jharna who brought Leon here, you should thank Jharna for bringing Leon on time.” Andrew continued his sentence which made Cheryl turn her head.
“Oh, so this is thanks to Jharna? Jharna that you think is very meritorious now?” Cheryl is getting hooked. He didn't like to hear Andrew mention Jharna's name this way.
“Udah! You guys are fighting too. Noisy Mamah. We should be grateful to Jharna, because he saved Leon, not even debating and as if you were jealous!” Widi cheers up at Cheryl, the daughter-in-law.
Cheryl did not answer, only her hands were clenched because hearing Jharna's name continued to be mentioned throughout their debate. How good is that woman?
