Waiting for Your Love

Waiting for Your Love
CHAPTER 4

“Maybe not,” replied Amelia while shrugging her shoulders. He did not say that he was actually a transfer student from a public school.

“Indeed we cannot know everyone one by one, I always say like that. But at least we know they are one of the students from our school,” he laughed a little.

Then in his view Amelia with a friendly smile and he continued his interview, “What is the underlying reason you came to this campus? What do you like about Sudirman University?” he pulls the pen from the map while playing it, ready to write down the answer Amelia will give.

Uh-uh. Amelia broke out in a cold sweat, she was at a loss for what to answer. For sure he must give the right answer and satisfy the lecturer. But his mind suddenly became deadlocked instantly.

The underlying reason for getting to this campus was simply because he wanted to meet with Jovanto Ardianto, the son of a successful businessman, but there was no way he would say that to the lecturer sitting in front of him.

“Do not be nervous, Amelia. This is just a casual interview just relax,” said Mr. Toto to calm Amelia. He folded his hands on the table and patiently waited for an answer from Amelia.

“I really like this campus, sir. The campus is good and the effect is still traditional. It seems very ... very full of history and ah. hmmm .. as far as I know this is a famous college in this city. My sister used to tell me about it.” Amelia answered somewhat doubtfully, as she was unsure of the answer she gave.

It felt like Amelia wanted to push herself to the end of the sky. Why didn't he listen to Nina's advice at the terminal?

“Oh, I see,” said Mr. Toto while writing something on paper. “ Which majors are you interested in?” ask Mr. Toto again.

Amelia's eyes widened in panic at Mr. Toto's question. He wanted to know what his real purpose in life was. Amelia herself was silent because she did not understand who she was! It was always a problem for him. His father always nagged over the matter, as well as his teachers. And now this lecturer also provoked the problem.

“In other words, what would you like to learn in Purwokerto if you were accepted to lecture here?”. The old lecturer tried to remain patient, but Amelia heard an annoyed tone to her voice.

“Oh! I don't know for sure, sir. I haven't thought about that issue.” He knew this answer would not give him any value. He would love to be able to answer questions from Mr. Toto appropriately!

“Are there any questions about Sudirman?” ask the teacher again.

“Emmm .. doesn't seem to exist, sir. I just love this place.” Answer Amelia perfunctorily.

Amelia bit her lips and glanced around the room, hoping to escape. This interview was really torturous and made him stop thinking. He could also see that this interview did not satisfy the lecturer either.

“Alright then ..” said Mr. Toto while pushing his chair and he stood up. “Maybe you are too nervous to speak in public,” he continued while pointing to many of his Junior Weekend participants who crowded the room. Starting from students from various cities and added Sudirman students who participated in the event.

“If you seriously want to study here, you can take the next interview test this year.” Said Mr. Toto while smiling lazily.

“Ya, I .. I will follow him, Sir,” Amelia said. Rest assured already, he had crushed his own interview successfully.

“Simply so, Amelia.” The lecturer turned around while shaking his head at a glance, as he left behind Amelia.

“Oh, fool very,” Inner Amelia. I don't want to go to college here either. I'm just going on a date with someone here. Deep down, he felt heartache at being rejected like that. And this time he can't blame anyone but himself.
