Iris just finished looking for references and copied some important theories when she saw Laya enter the journalism room and approached her. Iris, who had finished her book, immediately took the bag and left, desperately avoiding Laya.
Laya did not give up, she chased after Iris with all her strength. They were chasing from outside the journalistic room, to the classroom hallway, to the school gate.
The school was deserted, it was almost 5 pm, the children had disbanded a few hours ago. Only the school guards left behind and some of the exculpatory managers were still
take care of excul.
“Iris!” yelled Laya trying to stop Iris.
Iris stopped her steps and took a deep breath. He did not want to attract attention, news of his battle with Yuli did not seem to spread.
Although currently there are not many students, but that does not mean that no one sees him and Laya. He doesn't want more strange rumors.
He turned around and found Laya looking at him with a look he could not explain. Laya's eyes were always rich in expression.
Iris had once witnessed firsthand how the radiance of emotion in those eyes changed so quickly. But at this time he could not grasp the meaning of Laya's gaze, anger or sadness, or
even exhausted.
Iris did not want to guess any longer, she had to immediately resolve whatever this matter was with Laya. He signals Laya to follow him. They should go somewhere quieter.
Iris went to the park where they discussed her previous sociology assignments. He put his bag on the round table and sat on the bench. Laya followed him and sat down in front of Iris.
“For a while do not have to come home, even if you want to go home directly to it and do not need to be with the cave.” Iris said firmly to Laya.
“Why?”
“Kalo we seem too late deket cuman will fishing rumor–freak rumour.”
“Lo so unhappy if we look at the deck?” laya asked with a flat face, for some reason there was a bit of sadness in her tone.
“This is not about the cave like or ngak, the cave just trying to reduce the problem. Lo denger himself was Yuli said what. It feels uncomfortable behind the rich it.” Obviously Iris.
Laya clearly understood Iris's feelings. He did not know anything, he also heard the strange rumors, and felt uncomfortable. He thought it wouldn't affect Iris, like all this time.
“Lo know if you can't turn on the cave for all those events.” said Laya firmly, he wanted to clarify the situation. He knew Iris was exhausted but felt he had to clarify his position.
Iris was pensive to hear Laya's statement. He did not want to admit it but he did blame Laya a little. After thousands of times hearing people compare them, he was tired and wanted to occasionally shout at Laya.
He felt like he was being caught by the hand while trying to do something evil and it hurt his pride. He had tried to restrain himself all this time, but never expected Laya herself to make that statement to him.
“Gua never miss you, Ekalaya!” he said firmly, trying to lie to Laya and himself snediri.
“Really? You never? Then why your behavior shows otherwise.” Tukas Laya again, as if to corner Iris.
Iris was silent for a moment, realizing that Laya sometimes understood her better than herself. Somehow he felt he understood what Yuli was doing in the classroom. As all this time he tried to surpass Laya, Yuli also had a hard drive ahead of her and Laya.
“Em, little cave blame lo. Can't you?” said Iris trying to look as calm as possible, with all her might covering up the despair within her.
“Why? Why is it wrong cave?!” asked Laya with a high voice. He looked just as tired as Iris
“Why not?!” Reply Iris no less hard than Laya.
Laya looked at Iris in disbelief. He did not believe that Iris became this irrational. That Iris who was currently looking at him with hatred and anger was the same Iris who calmed him down and turned him into herself.
Iris took a deep breath, showing her anger and annoyance.
“Lo will never understand. You have everything in your hands. You have to horrify the people who want you and others. Lo ngak will know how exhausting and torturing it all.” Said Iris while looking deeply into Laya's eyes, as if to make Laya absorb every word he put out.
Those words seemed to pierce every inch of Laya's body. How could he not know, he knew exactly what it was like.
She spent her entire life comparing herself to her brother and Iris knew all of that. He had shared that with Iris, only with Iris, so how could Iris not know.
Iris stared fixedly at Laya, seeing how her words pierced her heart, seeing the radiance of pain in Laya's eyes.
Iris with all her might held back her cries, making sure not a single water dripped from her eyes. He spat and tried to look strong in front of Laya. He can't retreat now, he can't turn around when he attacks.
“Mumpung we again say this, justin cave ask one thing, what is the real reason you do not want to join the social olympics?” ask Iris
Laya stared at Iris coldly then replied, “Because of lo.”
Iris was surprised to hear Laya's reply. He did not know to be angry, laugh, or cry at Laya's answer. What does Laya answer mean, why Laya answer actually raises more questions.
“What does that mean? Lo kasian same cave? You consider the cave weak, so you feel you have to give up so that the cave can win?! That's also the reason you've been stopping by the cave house all this time! So deket same cave family! So that you can laugh at a cave life that is full of flaws, so?!”
Iris seemed to explode, letting out all the annoyance that she was craving. His eyes felt hot and his entire body was tense. He clenched his two hands hard, and looked at Laya with anger from his place.
While Laya was still holding on to her place, Iris caught a chill. He neither laughed nor was angry at Iris' reaction.
“So that's how you've looked at yourself all this time, Ris.” Laya.
Iris was stunned to hear it, tension slowly left her body, though she was still frozen in place.
“Never once did the cave pity or laugh at your life Ris. None of your life should be pitied or laughed at.” Laya.
Laya picked up her bag and stood up from her seat, intending to leave, but before stepping she looked back at Iris fixedly.
“Am I worth nothing when I’m no longer your rival, cause I can’ boots your motivation and make you work harder? I can be my own Ekalaya you said, what a hypocrite! Even you can’t accept me as i am.”
He then left Iris.
Laya has gone so far as to leave Iris, that Iris cannot see even her shadow. Without realizing it, tears fell on her cheeks. Iris covered her face trying to hold back the sobs she was no longer able to hold, realizing what she had just done.
