Two Lunar Luminaries
Iris's true Feeling

Laya had just finished her shower when her phone rang. There was an incoming call from Iris, Laya was a little surprised to see him. He prepared for a few seconds before receiving the call.

“Hallo, nak Laya.” voice word on the other end. How surprised Laya when she heard the hoarse voice of Seruni ma'am.

“Iya ma'am what is bu?” laya replied in a hurry, she felt a hint of panic in the tone of Seruni's voice.

“Sorry to interrupt the nights, son, Iris went outside and not yet home. I was wondering if you might know where Iris used to play. Sorry son, you are the only friend Iris I know, Iris also does not bring HP, so I tried to contact you.” Obviously ma Seruni.

“Place Iris play that I know just school ma'am, but if this hour school must have been locked.” Answer Laya.

“So yes son, good son thank you yes, sorry to disturb the nights. Please if you hear the news about Iris directly tell mom yes son.”

“Iya ma'am, try me ask other friends also yes ma'am. Mother don't worry too much, Iris must be fine.” Said Laya trying to calm Seruni ma'am.

“Iya son thank you very much yes.”

“Sama-sama bu.”

The phone was cut off, after which Laya immediately sent an SMS to Reski and Melinda asked if they were with Iris.

After a few minutes he got an answer, unfortunately the two were not with Iris. This makes Laya become a little panicked, the voice of Seruni ma'am was heard hoarse like a person had finished crying.

He also remembered his battle with Iris earlier. His heart seemed to be in a hurry to realize the existence of Iris unknown. Feeling unsuspecting just sitting in the room, Laya immediately took the jacket and key

his motor.

 ***

Laya runs her motorcycle at a slow speed. He walked the road from home to school. It was already very dark, some stalls were seen getting ready to close.

Laya puts her eyes on the street, hoping to find a figure she knows. He had already walked through his school and was now heading towards Iris' house.

At the turn he used to find Iris waiting for the angkot, Laya saw a woman who was sitting on the side of the road. He sat down while covering his face in a hanky. The woman was wearing training pants and a short-sleeved blue t-shirt.

Laya recognized the pants, even though she did not see her face, Laya was sure it was Iris. Laya immediately approached the bike and stopped it near Iris. He came down and went straight to Iris.

While standing in front of Iris she was surprised to find that Iris was crying, her shoulders were shaking and the sound of her crying was heard. For a while Laya froze in a place not knowing what to do. Iris had never looked this weak before.

Upon regaining consciousness, Laya crouched down in front of Iris, calling out Iris's name slowly, she said,

“Ris.”

Iris lifted her face and was shocked to find Laya right in front of her. Seeing Laya, instead of her stopping crying, Iris's cry only grew louder. He went back, his breathing stopped. If he had previously covered his face on his knees, he would have covered his face with his hands. Laya became panicked to see Iris's cries getting louder.

He sat down next to Iris, trying to calm Iris down.

“Why is it even crying?” ask her in the middle of her panic.

Laya pulls Iris' hand that covers her face, she pulls the sleeve of her jacket and wipes Iris' tears.

“Sorry, the cave shouldn't have provoked lo.” Said.

Iris shook her head to hear Laya's words.

“The wrong cave... sorryin.. should not say that bad.” said Iris still a bit sobbing. “But, I mean it.. when I said that you can be your own Ekalaya, I mean it.”  Said again.

Laya smiles at it, “I know.” The answer.

“But do you know, you are enough. You work hard, I know it. Your mom know it. Your friends know it too. So don’t worry, you are not alone.”

Iris returned to tears when she heard Laya's words. Laya's right. He's not alone. But hearing that made her want to cry even more.

Laya who saw Iris back in tears, unexpectedly, pulled Iris into her deck and let Iris cry on her shoulder. He also patted Iris on the shoulder.

“If cape breaks, there is no harm in taking a short break. In life you should always run.” Said Laya trying to strengthen Iris.

“No can, ga ga ga can stop now.” Iris replied still with her stuffing.

Laya pushed Iris' shoulders slowly, looked into Iris's eyes and made sure Iris looked back into her eyes.

“Kalo so you must be strong, if you have no other choice but to run you must be strong. Lacuin as you have been doing all this time, no matter what people say, understand?” laya said firmly to Iris.

Iris slapped, with no other reaction.

“Kalo so we go home, anter lo cave to home.” Said Laya

“Not want to go home.” Iris replied suddenly.

Laya and Iris were both silent afterwards, in the silence, a kruyukkkk voice came from Iris' stomach.

“OK, we find food first.” Laya.

Laya pulled Iris's hand and took her walking towards the bike. Iris according to Laya. After arriving at his bike, Laya took off her jacket and attached it to Iris.

Iris put her arm in the sleeve of the jacket. Laya helped to zip up her jacket, even draping the hood of the jacket over Iris' head. He also gave a helmet to Iris.

After Iris is ready, then Laya get on the bike and start the bike. Iris of course went straight up on the back bench of Laya's bike. They then split the streets that night, looking for a place to eat that was still open.

Laya accompanies Iris to a meal at a pecel stall on the side of the road. He does not eat, only accompanies Iris, gives what Iris needs and watches Iris eat in silence. When they finished, they went back up on the bike. This time Laya drove Iris home.

Iris' mother and father welcomed them as soon as they arrived at Iris's house. Bu Seruni thanked Laya a lot, as did Iris' father. He even told Laya to stop by when there was time to eat together. Laya of course agreed, after that he immediately said goodbye because it was already night. He saw Iris watching him from the door. His heart was calm knowing Iris was home safely.
