Two Lunar Luminaries

Two Lunar Luminaries
Did we hate each other?

She went into the house and found her mother preparing food. He said hello, approached his mother and kissed her hand. “Wash hands, change clothes, abis it directly eat yes son.” Said the mother.

“Prepare to do, Commander!” say the word while pretending to pay respect like a squad leader. His mother just smiled at the behavior of his son.

Laya was enjoying her lunch accompanied by her mother, who was tidying up the kitchen. Rumah Laya is located in one of the elite complexes in South Jakarta. His father is a director at one of the famous banks in Indonesia, it can be said that the Laya family is a high-class family. He lives in a two-story house with a large courtyard. On the first floor was his parents' bedroom, his father's workroom, living room, kitchen and two bathrooms. While on the second floor there are three rooms, each for Laya and kakanya and one guest room.

Laya has an older sister named Arjuna. Currently her brother is studying higher education at one of the famous PTN majored in International Relations.

“Oh yes, our dining event with the rich family must be postponed again yes. Your brother is still very busy and can not go home, gapapakan?” asked the mother, breaking the reverie of Laya. Laya just smiled slightly and nodded, then continued on. Laya finished eating goodbye to her mother and went up to her room.

In the room he opened a SBMPTN exercise book and began working on the problems there. Today there is no tutoring, Laya had wanted to take a break and read a fiction book, but her mother's words made her feel like she had to open a textbook again. He abandoned his intention to rest. There was something else he had to do, which he had to accomplish.

The family meal that the mother discussed was held to celebrate Laya's rise to 12th grade and it has been almost three months since Laya became a 12th grader. Already during that time this event was postponed, and will still be postponed due to the busyness of her brother. Even so Laya did not complain, she should not complain. He learned not to complain.

Since childhood Laya had realized that her father Bima Anggara Wicaksono loved her brother Arjuna Putra Wicaksono. His older brother was a very smart boy, he could always reach number one in school. Almost all the competitions and Olympics he participated in won. His father never directly said that he loved Arjuna more, but Laya could see, from the gestures, and the way the father treated both, that his father loved his brother more than him.

He and his brother did not have a long distance, only two years and that means their school period is not too far away. Laya is certainly no less smart than the brother, but in terms of education, Laya prefers to go to public schools than elite private schools. When her brother entered a prestigious international school, Laya preferred a favorite public school.

Laya's father is not a typical dictatorial parent who imposes his will on his son. On the contrary, Laya's father tends to free his children in determining their way of life, including education problems. Her father never complained about it, but Laya knew that she had disappointed her father a little.

Perhaps that was also one of the reasons his father prioritized his older brother over him. Every time the school event he and his brother clash, the father prefers to attend his sister's event. Dad also often comes and supports his brother who is in the race, but not with Laya. Once, when he was in the 2nd grade of Junior High Laya asked his father to come to his school event, but his father firmly refused, because he had to attend his brother's event. Since then, Laya has never asked her father to come to her school. Laya will not be able to accept rejection anymore.

Laya knew it wasn't her brother's fault. The fact that his father prioritized his older brother was entirely his own responsibility. Laya didn't blame her father, nor her brother. He knew that in order to take his father's heart he had to try harder. Laya loves her brother like any other brother in general, although her relationship with her brother is not too close, they never quarrel, but also rarely play together.

Since childhood Laya likes to play outdoors, she likes to run, she likes to meet new friends, she likes to meet small animals on the streets. He is a child full of energy and likes to roam, it is very inversely proportional to his brother. His brother likes calmness, he doesn't like to play outdoors. And so they never played together. Every time Laya invites Arjuna to play outside he will refuse. So Laya more playing with the village children near the compound of his house. He will play ball, play to the rice field, or just chase a kite break. His mother and father never forbade Laya from playing, as long as he returned home before the magrib.

It was also one of the reasons Laya decided to go to public school. He wants to have more friends, he wants to play more, he wants to have a normal life. The opposite of what his father wanted. Laya never quarrel with her father, when it comes to making important decisions in life, Laya will think carefully and convey her wishes to the father by including logical reasons. His father would listen carefully, and let Laya do as he wished if it felt that Laya's reasoning was logical and acceptable.

Therefore, Laya always tried her hardest to be the best, both in the teachings and outside the lessons. Laya wants to prove that she can and can be as good as her sister. He always managed to be the first in SD and SMP but when entering the SMA level, Laya several times failed. He was defeated by Iris. Laya does not hate Iris, she certainly cannot hate Iris. The only thing he has to do is work harder and get better, better than Iris, better than her brother, better than her old self.

Iris went into the house and found the house still cluttered with vegetable crumbs. His mother is preparing the merchandise for tomorrow. Iris said hello and went into the house, kissed her mother's hand and washed her hands. He went straight into his room, changed his clothes, then went back to the kitchen and helped his mother.

Iris lives in a village near the school. The house measures about 60 m2 a simple house with three bedrooms, a kitchen, one bathroom and a living room. The nature is not broad, just enough for clothesline, but the house looks shady from the outside. There are many flower plants with small pots on the face. Iris' mother loved flowers so much, that's why she named her children after them.

Although it is a mess because there are many traces of vegetables and banana leaves, Iris house still looks neat. There was a long bench and a glass table in the living room, there were no items scattered there. Iris' mother, Seruni is preparing cooking ingredients for tomorrow's trade. He sells barley and fried foods, which he left in stalls near the school. He also often receives orders for dishes, ranging from cooked vegetables to boxed rice.

Iris' father was a teacher, he taught at a public school not too far from home. Teacher was a noble profession, Iris and her family were proud of their father's profession. His father held a great mandate, which is to educate and educate the life of the nation. Iris never underestimated her father's profession. Even so, it cannot be denied that his father's income as a teacher, often does not meet the needs of the family. Therefore the mother, always trying to help meet these needs.

Since childhood, Iris and her sister Lily have been used to helping her mother, tying lontogs before steaming, cleaning up the crumbs of lontong-wrapped banana leaves, and, whatever they can do they will do to ease the burden on the mother. After school Iris will start her activities by helping her mother, all activities are usually completed around 8 pm.

After finishing helping her mother, Iris will open her textbook, repeat the lessons of today and the lessons to come, and do homework. Iris never took lessons, she studied purely on her own merits, and had little help from her father. However, he can still always reach number one in school, while in Elementary and Junior High School. After entering the SMA, Iris's first position is often shifted. He lost to Laya a few times.

For Iris, Laya was a strong opponent. He was different from Iris, although they were not friends, Iris heard some things about Laya. Laya comes from a high-class family, she of course takes many lessons in various places. It is also active in OSIS and exculus. They are often juxtaposed and considered to be strong rivals. Even so Iris felt that their fight was not a fair fight. They were on a different starting line from the start.

Iris never regretted her life. He is grateful for what he has, his family loves him, and he loves them, so Iris decided not to give up on the situation, although he had to try ten times more than the others. Iris did not complain, and continued to live it with all her might. He has a dream that he has to pursue, so for now Iris just wants to focus on that dream.

Iris and Laya cross paths in the hallway of the classroom. Iris was about to go to the library while Laya intended to stop by the OSIS room. Today was clear, the sky was filled with a heart-felt blue. But the atmosphere around Iris and Laya at this time did not feel soothing at all. Their gazes met and instantly the two recalled their quarrel the day before. They did not mock each other or shout but Anwar and Reski could instantly feel a change of heart between the two.

Anwar smiled at Iris trying to melt the atmosphere, Iris returned Anwar's smile and resumed her journey. Reski smiled awardly at Anwar and Laya then caught up with Iris rather hastily. Laya looks not dizzy and returns to carry out her business. Anwar could only take a deep breath looking at the behavior of his group members. He realized that the task of the group this time would be more difficult than usual.

“Gua sometimes confused with lo and Laya.” Say Reski suddenly.

Iris glanced at Reski at a glance, they were in the class at the moment, there were only the two of them. The other kids are busy because it's a break. Iris and Reski, who both brought provisions, chose to stay in class and enjoy their lunch.

“Suddenly discuss the same cave Laya?” answer Iris.

“Sebaknya ngak suddenly, the cave has thought of this from a long time, lo same Laya tuh strange.” Reski said while still looking at the classroom ceiling, as if there was something there that could help him find the right words to convey the contents of his thoughts.

“Any?” asked Iris, she stared fixedly at Reski.

Reski's long, black hair was unraveling, some of her wind-blown brats closed off a bit of Iris's gaze. Iris wants to look Reski in the eye and hopes to find out the meaning of the oddity Reski said. But those wry eyes just stared at the classroom ceiling as if there was something very interesting perched there.

“Iya freak!” reski said, finally turning away from the classroom ceiling and looking back at Iris. He was a bit surprised to find Iris was staring at him.

“Lo is beautiful, Laya is also handsome. Lo pinter, Laya also pinter, but how could you not be victorious? Shouldn't the pinter be the same person as the pinter?” reski said trying to explain his confusion to Iris. Iris just listened to Reski, she propped up her chin and stared fixedly at Reski.

“Kalo lo, cave understand. Lo emang is basically a bit closed and limiting association, but Laya? The cave does not understand. He is his son is very friendly, who is the winner, but how can you not he menenin, like why?????”  reski said while shrugging his shoulders revealing confusion.

Iris smiled slightly looking at Reski.

“Open this question should make Laya?”

“Em, should make Laya, but ga ga ga brave nanya Laya, so nanya cave lo aja.” he said resigned. Iris smiles at Reski's words, he takes his eyes off Reski and returns to eating his food.

“Lo same Laya is rich in two coin eyes, you are the same but different. You have your own side but cannot be separated. Moreover, see you guys difference understand yesterday, the cave becomes more confused, did you guys hate each other? But why?”

“According to you does not make sense if the cave is the same Laya hate each other?” ask Iris.

Reski was silent for a moment thinking about Iris's question.

“It does not make sense, but more to ‘kok can’? You have everything, if in the romance of your character will be made into an ideal couple, equally beautiful, equally pinter, will be a couple of goals really.”

Iris smiled back.

“According to you the cave has everything?” said Iris.

Now change Reski who stared fixedly at Iris. Iris looked forward, her long black hair stuffed behind her ears. Reski can see Iris's face clearly, her pliable eyelashes, her pointed nose, and her dimples that sometimes appear when she chews food.

Iris was sitting right next to her, but Reski felt that Iris' mind was venturing out of nowhere.

“Gua also thinks Laya has everything, but grotto doesn't know why you can draw conclusions if the cave has everything. How?”

“Because so good from the outside. Gua know we should not judge only from the outside, but you yourself also never really-indicate yourself lo who actually.”

“Sorry.”

“No, the cave is not bad lo, it is entirely right lo and we can talk about this problem again, all cave clear yes. Are we really going to get a taxi decoction? Every time asked cave people a bit confused answer, later if the cave replied temen deket fear lo ngak nganggep, sad dong me.” Reski said while showing a sad face at the end of his sentence.

Iris was silent for a moment looking thoughtful.

“Friends it takes extra energy, not just material problems but also the mind, sometimes the cave does not know how to balance others. That's one of the reasons caves shut down, because sometimes friends take too much energy, and the cave is not sure the cave has enough energy for it.”

Reski pensively heard Iris's reply, he did not expect Iris to answer seriously. Honestly, he was also afraid of the answer Iris gave.

“But the cave also knows as humans we can not live alone. Therefore the cave is always grateful to you and Melinda. Although the cave never gives anything significant to you, you still want to meet the cave. Although you are always the first to open the conversation, and certainly the one who spends more energy in this relationship, you never nianggalin cave.”

Reski remained silent and listened intently to Iris' reply.

“So the cave thinks, you are more worthy to determine whether we are ten deket or not, because for the cave, you are the only deket who cave has and the cave accepts whatever it is your decision.”

“Woahhh, Melinda must dread this. That cave should have recorded this conversation. You know this axis is probably the longest sentence you have ever uttered in the history of our friendship!” reski said with excitement. Iris laughed at Reski's behavior.

“Cua doesn't want to know you have to say the same thing to Melinda! Crazy now the cave has a definite answer if our nanya we menenan or ngak!”

Reski looks so satisfied with Iris' answer, he forgot the beginning of their conversation. The matter about Laya and Iris seemed to be forgotten just like that, alternating with the joy of Reski celebrating their friendship. Iris laughs at Reski's behavior and buries Laya's problems deep in the depths of her heart.
