The moon peeked behind the thick clouds, replacing the sun that had returned to its court. A gentle breeze shook the curtains covering the slightly open clear glass window in the room Amira was treated to.
A young man entered the room. He stared at Amira's sleeping body like a princess sleeping in an imaginary country. The man walked towards the window and tightly closed the window glass, then turned to approach the girl. He also sat on the chair beside his bed.
He gently rubbed the girl's cheeks which looked ashen as a white sheet of paper. His heart was afraid to see the condition of the girl.
'Forgive me, Ami. I've dragged you into my household troubles. I'm sorry, ' the man's inner heart is sad. That man was Adrian Song.
Adrian did not think his ex-wife could do something like this to Amira. Yes, Emmy has become his ex-wife. Today she has arranged her divorce with Emmy.
Adrian has also resigned from the Tang company. Now he has nothing, yet he feels so free, calm and comfortable. The grudge in his heart slowly began to fade. He realized that by letting go of his grudge, the burden in his heart was slowly lifted and felt peace.
Adrian clasped Amira's hand tightly and kissed her slowly. "Follow up so I can see the smile on your face again."
Not long after, Vincent entered the room. He was surprised to see the arrival of Adrian in that place, especially to touch his lover.
"What are you doing?" vincent asked sharply and watched Adrian with his eagle eyes that had given him a cynical look.
A smile bloomed on Adrian's lips. The man did not feel intimidated by the gaze Vincent gave him. He put Amira's hand down and got up from his seat, then approached Vincent.
Adrian noticed Vincent's condition is quite sad for him now. He laughed and asked a question in Vincent's mind.
Still with a cynical look, Vincent frowned. "Are you here to laugh at me?" ask Vincent coldly.
Adrian stopped his laughter and the mangosteen. "Yes more or less like that. I didn't think I could see such a pathetic you," she sneered with a cynical smile.
Vincent tightened his jaw and his fist tightened. "Look as you please, I want to see if you can get out of here alive!" threaten Vincent.
Laughter filled the room. Adrian laughed crisply listening to what Vincent thought was ridiculous. He wiped the tears in the corners of his eyes from laughing.
"Vincent, Vincent .. It turns out your jokes are funny too. I think you fit in as a comedian" Adrian said.
Vincent looked at him sharply and did not pique Adrian's innuendo. "What exactly is your purpose here?"
"You kidnapped your girl" Adrian replied casually, but was able to anger Vincent. Vincent pulled the collar of Adrian's shirt making the man slightly lowered his head to himself sitting on a wheelchair.
"Casual, Bro. I'm just kidding" Adrian said again, shaking Vincent's hand off his shirt collar.
"Say!" exclaim Vincent growled.
Adrian tidied up his slightly messy shirt, then looked at Vincent. "I'm just here to see Ami, nothing means anything."
"Is Emmy Tang really the culprit?" ask Vincent who already knows who did the hit-and-run. Lucas had helped her investigate it and reported it to her a while ago.
Adrian smiled faintly. "It turns out you already know the culprit. Your information is so accurate, but I hope you can release him" Adrian said in a slightly pleading tone.
Although Adrian does not love Emmy, he still considers Emmy a friend. He knows Emmy's actions have crossed the line, but his ex-wife does so out of misunderstanding and burning flames of jealousy that make his wits not work well.
Emmy's condition is not so good, when Adrian meets with her in court to complete their divorce proceedings. During the trial process, Emmy was silent and did not file any charges against Adrian. He was like a silent undead without expression with his mind empty, making Adrian feel a little compassion for his ex-wife.
"He's already regretting what he did, Vincent. His current condition is also no worse than yours. I hope you don't follow up on this matter. If you still insist, let me be responsible for the accident" Adrian continued.
Vincent saw seriousness in Adrian's face. He had no idea Adrian would say such a thing. He thought this man in front of him was a man full of ambition and a high ego, but it turned out his judgment was wrong. Adrian still has empathy in him.
Vincent did not answer Adrian's request. He turned his face and looked at his lover who was still unconscious from his long sleep.
"All decisions I leave to Amira. Let him give you the answer to your request" said Vincent flatly.
"Thank you" said Adrian smiling sincerely. He knew Vincent had agreed to his request, only that he did not want to lower his self-esteem in order to respond directly.
"Alright, then I say goodbye. Maybe we will rarely meet or maybe will not meet again" said Adrian while patting Vincent slowly.
Vincent turned his head and linked his eyebrows, asking for an explanation from Adrian's words.
"I'm learning to let go of my grudge against you. I know what my grandfather did was wrong and I don't want to do the same with him anymore. At first I wanted you to feel the same pain I used to feel, the pain and loss that I had experienced, but it turned out I failed" explained Adrian.
Vincent just silently listened to Adrian's explanation. He also thought that he used to overdo it and make a continuing grudge like now.
"The revenge made me unhappy and left me shackled in my narrow mind. Therefore, now I want to be free and feel calm," continued Adrian again and pat Vincent on the shoulder.
Vincent did not pat Adrian's hand, instead he slapped the back of the man's hand gently. "I'm sorry for making your life suffer first" Vincent said sincerely.
A wide smile engraved on Adrian's face has answered Vincent's apology.
"When we meet again, Vincent Zhang. I hope you don't make Amira suffer, otherwise I'll come to take it from you" Adrian said farewell and warned Vincent before leaving the room.
Vincent was very sorry for Adrian's departure. At first glance he thinks that Adrian can be a good friend and a competent business rival. But he also breathed a sigh of relief. At least the enemy is now reduced by one. It is better to add one friend than one enemy, he thought.
To be continue ….
