Azka was still buzzing with the explanation of the doctor this morning about his condition. He was unable to walk for 6 months during his recovery and after that, the condition of his legs was not confirmed. Whether he can return to normal or not.
One thing that made him sad was that he could no longer play basketball. There should still be a few games during this semester. That means he can no longer hold the title of basketball captain.
Azka stared blankly at the window of the vip room. A round of tears involuntarily dripped down his cheeks. He's used to living hard but he can't stop playing basketball. For him, basketball is a reliever of sadness and fatigue to live life.
"Azka, eat first" said Bu Isti.
Azka shook her head. He has not eaten since morning.
"Azka, eat first to heal quickly" said Bu Isti again.
"I can't recover Mom."
Bu Isti tried to hold back his tears so that he did not add to Azka's grief. He rubbed Azka's hair which still threw away his gaze.
"Mother, am I really going to be a useless child like Dad said. I'm now disabled, it'll only trouble you."
Tears that had been braved Bu Isti finally escaped after hearing Azka's sentence. "Don't say it like that. I'm sure you can walk the way you were."
"Mom heard it for myself, the healing period of my legs for six months. That means for six months I was just in a wheelchair. And after that, I don't know if I can walk normally or not. Even doctors hesitate to give certainty. One more thing, I can't play basketball. My dream of becoming a basketball athlete was shattered. It's all because of Dad's prayer that always said I was a useless child and always troublesome, yes, now it's all done." Azka's tears kept flowing down her cheeks. "Where's Dad now, seeing me just doesn't."
Isti just fell silent while crying. He let Azka express all her sorrow. He knew his son was now broken.
"Mother, I'm sorry. I was a very useless child. Always troublesome. Mom, I just want to get out of this world."
"You don't say that. Mother loves you. Mom only has you. You never troubled Mom." Isti bowed his body and hugged his son.
Azka let out a long sigh to remove the slight tightness in her chest. After this, he did not know if he was able to get through his days.
...***...
"Ai," Revan stopped his steps in front of Azka's room. "Three of you come in. I'm going home."
"Van, let's go in for a second." Airin pulled Revan's hand but Revan shook his head.
"As I said earlier, you should be able to love Azka's spirit. He needs you." Revan rubbed Airin's cheek. "And one more thing, you can't cry anymore." After that he took off Airin's hand. "I just sent a message to your father to pick you up at the hospital." Then Revan turned around and left Airin.
Airin just stared at Revan's back which was getting away.
"Here you go, let's go in" Melodi asked.
The three of them entered Azka's room. Azka looked at the window.
"Azka there are your friends coming," said Bu Isti, he hoped Azka could be a little happy to meet her friends.
"Azka, friends, send a message to you. Tomorrow they will come here." said Airin who sat next to Azka's cage.
"Azka, let's bring some fruit. Let's recover quickly."
Tears of Tear are blocked. He shifted his gaze and rubbed it for a moment.
I can't cry.
Melody nudged Airin's shoulder because Azka did not respond to them at all. Melody took her phone and typed something.
We're out, yeah. You try to entertain Azka. It seems Azka has no spirit of life anymore.
He shows Airin the message and he pulls Siska's arm to follow her out. Melody also coded Bu Isti to get out of the room.
"Ka, thank you for saving my life" Airin said.
Azka was still silent.
Airin was no longer able to hold back her cries. "Azka, are you sorry you helped me?" airin asked in a trembling voice.
There was a little response from Azka. He shook his head slowly.
"If you don't regret it, you don't be like this. I feel so guilty about you, you should have let me get hit. I don't want to see you like this." Airin cried even more until the sound of sobs was heard loudly. "If I can, let me replace your legs. It shouldn't be you like this but me." Airin covered her face with both hands because the tears did not stop flowing
Azka now looks at Airin. He looked at the crying Airin sobbing beside him. He didn't want to see Airin's sadness. Whatever he's gonna do for Airin. Yes, Airin said, if he does not regret helping Airin, he should be able to accept his current situation.
Slowly Azka's hand touched Airin's. "I never regret helping you. I only regret the fate of my life that was always unlucky."
Airin opened his hand. Airin's eyes are back red.
"Oi, your eyes are so swollen. You cried from last night?" Azka wiped away the tears on Airin's cheek. "Don't cry. I never regret helping you. Whatever I'll do for you."
"But you..." Airin stopped his words because he could no longer say them.
"Yes, I won't be able to play basketball anymore. I'll be handicapped. I really can't accept all this. It's very difficult because basketball is my life. My dream of becoming a basketball athlete is shattered. I can't do anything anymore, it'll only trouble mom and everybody else." Azka pressed the tip of her condensing eyes. He could not imagine how he would go about his next days.
Airin hugged Azka. He knew how heartbroken Azka was right now. If he was in the position of Azka for sure he would feel the same way. "I'll help you live your days. If need be I'll be your foot."
"I'm..." Azka tightens Airin's embrace.
"Azka, I'm sure you're cured. I'll help you get through this." Airin took off her hug and took the marker from inside her bag. Then he wrote on top of Azka's foot cast.
Azka Spirit. You can definitely!
Azka smiled slightly reading the writing.
