Leona peeked out of the door of her house, she saw the man sitting alone on the front porch, perhaps she was currently contemplating her fate. His face framed handsome, the lines on his forehead seemed to multiply thinking of something.
Leona came out onto the porch and stood there, "You why? thinking of getting off this island?"
Edmund turned around and looked at the girl who always looked cheerful, her face always smiling.
"Yes, you're right. I'm thinking of a way to get back to my country, but it seems impossible, there won't be any ships here unless you dare to risk passing through that stream."
"Hm, you're right, if you really want to get off this island, you have to prepare yourself and your life is at stake." She placed a plate of food for him on the small table beside her. He knew this man must be hungry, only his ego was holding him back to fill his belly.
"Eat, your stomach will hurt if you don't eat, in my house there's only this food." Leona said as she looked at the man, she seemed to still be thinking. Edmund turned his face and stared at the plate of a whole wheat bread that had been smeared with butter and a little vegetable on it and a glass of milk.
"Thank you, but I'm not hungry at all." Edmund. Something rang, like the sound of a stomach sounding restrained. Edmund immediately turned his face away and pretended there was nothing they had heard.
"Why are you so stubborn, let's eat !" Leona said, putting the plate on her lap and leaving immediately.
"Ck ck, I don't know how his life in his country but his attitude shows that the man is arrogant, his eyes look like looking low or either see pity on me. Just keep going, and you're gonna starve." Leona muttered.

"Where are you going?" Edmund asked when he saw him coming out of the house and carrying a basket on his back as well as a small shovel in his hand.
"I want to harvest Jastin's vegetables while his mother's still asleep." His words relaxed without feeling awkward with his words.
"You're stealing?" Accuse Edmund while folding both hands on his chest. Leona laughed at the word steal from the man.
"No, I just took it quietly, and Jastin let me take the vegetables in his garden, only his mother was stingy, and I and the jastin planted them."
"That's the same as stealing."
Leona did not care about it, she kept wearing her mud-filled boots and walked immediately.
"Hey, where's the garden? I'm coming, anyway I'm gonna be so bored alone in this house." Edmund walked with his arrogant steps past Alyena. They both walked around and passed behind the residential housing.
"You're deliberately walking down the street like this, why don't we go through the street like that?"
"You want to know, why I didn't want to go through those houses? first, they'll gossip about you, second, I don't want to be caught by Miss Relif later she tells jastin's mom that I went to the garden this afternoon."
"You are a thief." Accuse Edmund of jerking the basket on Leona's back.
Leona bit her inner cheek, trying to hold back her anger at the man she helped earlier this morning. Ever since this man called her a thief, Leona was so upset to hear it.
They walked about 10 minutes from her house and passed through the streets filled with very fertile vegetables, Leona then immediately ran around when she saw lettuce, cabbage and peas that flourished.
"Hold this, I'll pluck it quickly before jastin's mother comes and yells at me thief."
"It seems you're hated by her mother, are you Jastin's lover?" Said Edmund while watching him pluck the vegetables nimbly.
Leona looked at Edmund as if the words coming out of her mouth were very dirty. "Why are you asking something as useless as that? I'm not that seidiot to be jastin's lover, I think of him as my own brother."
"Oh yeah, but since you've only been in your mouth out Jastin's name, Jastin said this and that."
"really? If you are deaf, your ears may be full of jellyfish, you must have heard wrong, sir." Leona said deliberately using the word sir that is not liked by Edmund.
"Don't make a noise, just hold the basket properly, I have to pluck it before the witch comes." He quickly picked up the vegetables he needed. Although annoyed, Edmund could not reply to this girl, he just looked at her with a grin, only the first time someone said deaf and harshly to her besides her grandmother, let alone calling her Sir, even though he was 34 years old.
"Are they garden owners?" Edmund's Brief.
"Sst, don't fuss, we'll get caught." Leona said in a whisper.
"New tch this time in my life I'm hiding like a thief for picking vegetables in people's gardens." Edmund.
Leona rolled her eyes when she heard him mutter, they saw Madam Carron's bastard mother in the company of her daughter Latty Caron, they were carrying baskets like the one Leona was carrying.
"Here mom, from that mom just nagging, why the hell mom hates Leona so much." Their conversation made Leona put up her ears deeply, she did not expect to be the main topic of their conversation.
"That girl, just seeing him makes me angry, if not the kind-hearted villager who wanted to keep him, he would have died in the surf." He snorted while picking the vegetables he wanted.
"Is it Leona's fault? It's not like he's choosing such a miserable life Mom." Her daughter said in a shudder to disagree about her mother's vague hatred for Leona.
"Say the girl was the child who was banished by pirates due to the result of illicit relations over the ocean, the story was that the mother heard it directly from the village chief, and again the most terrible, the most terrible, the story was that, the pirate kidnapped a girl from the opposite village, and then he impregnated her, because they did not want to keep the unlucky boy, they put him on the beach and left him there, she was an obscure girl right? just be careful if he tries to get close to Jastin." Her speech.
Leona snorted angrily when she heard the story, it was already the 1000th time that people repeatedly rumored about her, and she was already very tired of hearing it.
"Based on the witch's grandmother, no other gossip, she did mean to hate me, cih who approached Jastin, I will never be with your son even though he is the last man in the world." Leona whispered and nagged. Edmund who listened to all the stories then looked at Leona who did not seem to have much effect on him, although he was angry, this girl seemed relaxed, she seemed to have gotten used to hearing rumors about him.
"Oh yeah one more thing, someone saw the girl was sending a man into her house, who was she? how dare she dirty our village by doing such a thing, she is such a shameless and disgusting girl." Said the woman as she continued to nag and her hands were busy picking up her vegetables.
"Stop Mom, every time you talk about Leona like that, even the horrible-sounding mom, the good girl Leona, she's always trying to be friendly to people but you keep trying to hate her and blame her."
His daughter put the basket on the rock and left her mother who was on her waist to see her son. "Ck ck what did the girl do until latty defended her like that? what poison did he give Latty." The woman carried her basket, then walked away from the garden.
"A fascinating conversation." Edmund said, he then looked at Leona who was seen picking vegetables in her basket and threw away the soil that was still attached to the root of the vegetable.
"So you're the son of a pirate?" Edmund to Leona.
"I wish that, if only a ship had passed, the first thing I would have done was to leave this village, you see how they hate me because of that obscure story, to the extent that the village chief's wife also told me such a story about me." Leona said as she shrugged her shoulders.
They came out of the hiding place, Edmund looked at the girl, he was not sad let alone crying, he even cursed when the woman said it.
"This fantasy is still not enough, cih I have to pick a lot of lettuce, let's run out quickly, the woman really likes lettuce, I should pick all so that she can not eat the next day."

The two of them again walked towards Leona's house, but she stopped by another garden to pick up mushrooms, and some growing fruit.
"Aren't I going to have a stomachache after eating this stolen food?" Edmund muttered looking at Leona who was climbing picking up another fruit in the neighboring garden.
"I said I did not steal, I koq planted it myself, but of course not in my land, but the land belongs to others, arguably the result of plants that I mutant, they also enjoy it, they enjoy it, so there's nothing I stole from this place." Leona jumped up slowly and took back her basket from Edmund.
They walked past another direction known to Alyena, lest the people in the village gossip about her.
"Are you going to hide me from the villagers? what if they paraded you to the village for bringing a handsome man to your house?"
Leona looked at Edmund as if he were an idiot, "I'll just help you, if I don't, that day you'll be carried by the waves, too, after all they wouldn't dare to do it to me even if they hated me." Leona said sure.
"You innocent or stupid? what makes you sure they won't dare to do it?" Edmund nodded in disbelief.
The girl smiled with a grin and showed her slick face. "You wanna know? Since I know some of the important and disgusting secrets of every single person in this village, you will definitely vomit if you hear them, take it easy, if they dare to tease me, at that time I will make a big fuss and fuss in this village, so that they will be ashamed of their own disgrace. His sneaky smile framed on his innocent face, Edmund gulped his saliva when he saw the creepy face of this innocent girl.
