Once again, darkness enveloped Gillian's body and mind. His gaze fell onto his feet, filled with blood from the stab wound on his chest. Sylph's voice felt increasingly distant, the knight's gaze slowly changed like sympathy.
"What have I been doing all this time? I'm a fool."
"But I don't know how stupid I am, funny. Without knowing anything, the end of my life is like this?! Someone tell me, is my purpose in life just to bring pain around me ?"
His feet were trembling in fear.
Death is not the 1 thing that makes his body respond that way. He remembered the nightmare of the creature in his body that said that since 4 years Gillian was like an undead. Life is aimless and full of regrets.
Since 4 years he has felt long dead along with his mother.
The screams of Sylph and Rainhart made Gillian try to turn her head towards them. From his condition he realized that the time was not long, the black fog that enveloped his body did not make him feel strange, he felt that the fog was something that had existed for a long time, even before he was born.
His blood dripping endlessly made his brain cry out for oxygen, his head dizzy, his gaze fading.
"Hey handsome guy, that sad look doesn't suit you."
Strange, for some reason Gillian wished Rainhart to take her with the smile she always put on.
He stared at the wind spirit who was trying to hold back his cries.
"Sylph I hope you can survive without me facing that rancid old geezer alone."
Gillian's body is squeezing. He could feel his own heartbeat beating weakly. His gaze was empty, his head was forced to fall until his chin touched part of his chest.
. . .
Rainhart yelled trying to get close to Gillian but was confronted by her subordinates. The barricade of the knight's body immediately formed without orders, holding Rainhart who wanted to get close to Gillian.
"Deputy Commander, we still don't know what kind of creature we're dealing with! Forgive me for being presumptuous, but please undo your intention of approaching him."
Said one of his subordinates who was trying to maintain his standing position, from Rainhart's encouragement.
"How could I let his son end that way, I should save him."
Rainhart saw Gillian's head turn towards him.
Rainhart was not raised in the scope of luxury, since her feet set into the path of the knight, how many dangerous missions she went with her troops.
Be it securing territory, extermination of bandit camps, goblins or other dangerous monsters. He did not always go home without seeing his subordinates get hurt, or even lose his life. I don't know how many times he had seen that gaze, the blank look from the last breath of his brother-in-arms. He will never get used to, ushering in the departure of British heroes on his lap, with the smile he always displayed.
Gillian's gaze was the same as that of a knight's eyes freed from her mission. An honest look full of happiness and regret.
"Still able! if I take his body to Grandpa Alf, I'm sure he can do something."
Rainhart's view fell to the right. Her cheeks are hot and painful. His mind was still processing events after he broke through. He saw Isabella right in front of him hugging, saying it was too late and apologizing repeatedly.
Rainhart took off Isabella's embrace, walked slowly a few meters and stopped in front of Gillian. He observed Gillian bowed down, her body squeezing like she had lost all her nerve flow. There was no energy left, his body was no longer trying to pump air. The look in his eyes lost its light, but a few moments back out his tears.
. . .
Dark, in the darkness he heard a voice again.
"Gillian a - .ku"
"That voice. . ."
A calming voice sounded from inside his head.
"Ja-. . . . . . - you. Lin-. . . -"
"Mother? is that you, mother?"
"Mother..I'm sorry mom. . ."
"I'm sorry.all my fault. . ."
The figure of the silver-haired woman appeared before Gillian, in a simple plain dress just like her last memory. He lovingly hugged his son and washed his tears. A warm smile from his mother seemed to answer Gillian's regret. Perhaps this was just an illusion created from his deepest desires. Whatever the truth, he can only vent all his emotions to the figure of his mother who left him.
His mother slowly took off her embrace, then as if pulled back in the past she saw the figure of her mother. Drenched in blood before him, lying clasping his hands.
"Dear your sister Gillian, protect Liliana from the creature."
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!"
All emotions overflowed, burning the scenery around Gillian. Leave the figure of the creature in the corner of the dark room that is unknown to him, smiling. Like enjoying everything from Gillian.
"No I can't die like this. . . ."
"khehehehe. . . break up."
"I must avenge my mother's death. . . ."
"Had it."
"Until all this world is burned."
