23. Death of an Old Hero

Zane is an old man. And he's paralyzed. He fought more than thirty people, all with weapons.

The situation is getting tense. Zane was hit by iron bars several times in the fight. He also had some injuries, in which blood came out.

Elena's worried. He was about to bump into a member

The Tiger Gang, but Zane is surrounded by them in the middle. Zane couldn't escape if he did that. He feels helpless, sits in the car and sees Zane being attacked by a group of people.

Just then, a member of the Tiger Gang tried to stab Zane in the stomach, Zane turned to the side. The man missed. Zane took the opportunity and snatched the man's machete with his right hand, then he punched the man with his left fist.

Zane took the machete and held it in his hand. He finally snatched the machete from the enemy!

He felt blood surging in his body. And his eyes sharpened. He wants to kill!

It was a life or death fight.

The only way to survive and save the girl is to kill someone else. It is a justifiable defense. There were no consequences even if he killed someone.

The members of the Kind Gang were not afraid of Zane, even though he had a machete. They're still attacking him.

Zane neighs. He held a machete in front of him. The machete glistened as if it was burning!

There he screams.

Other shouting.

And others.

Some members were scratched in the abdomen. They screamed and fell to the ground. Blood poured out from their wounds.

Zane mustered the Golok art of the Green Family to fight with the members of the Tiger Gang. The Gaudy Art of the Green Family, which once made enemies tremble in fear in war, has returned tonight.

Blood spilled. People shouting. Zane killed several people with a machete and injured several people in their arms. The Tiger Gang members were his enemies. He's like he's back on the battlefield and he can't control himself.

The people from the Tiger Gang did not expect Zane the cripple to be so formidable. They're starting to fear the machete.

Elena was also astonished to see Zane, who was in his sixties, being able to fight against dozens of people.

"Kill him! Kill her!" James roared furiously. He saw some of his gang members being scared.

The members of the Tiger Gang are murderous criminals. They ran after hearing James' orders and besieged Zane again.

Another battle begins.

Zane was fast, but he was outnumbered. Soon, he's cornered. He injured several enemies, but he was also injured by them.

The Gaudy Art of the Green Family is all about speed. Zane is old. His body could not follow his mind. His right leg slowed him down. He can't be as fast as he used to be.

The Golok Art weakened without speed.

The most important thing to remember is, Zane doesn't have the family machete he used to use.

His family's style is long, wide, and thick. He could exert unlimited power with it. But the one in his hand was short, thin, and light. Sometimes he couldn't hurt anyone while holding it.

At that moment. A man raised his machete, trying to slash it from above Zane's head.

Zane lifted his machete and blocked him from leaving.

Two people rushed forward and tried to stab Zane from his side.

Zane had to take the machete back and slash towards the throat of the man on the right. Blood came out like a fountain.

After killing the man on the right, Zane turned to deal with the man on the left.

But he was slightly slowed down by his right leg. The man took the opportunity and stabbed Zane in the stomach.

Elena's face was pale. Pain, anxiety, worry, fear pierced his heart.

However it was not a fatal wound, Zane immediately killed the man and the battle still continued.

Zane could not exert the power of his family's Golok Art and he became lethargic from his injuries. He was wounded several times in the battle.

Elena got out of the car when she saw someone stab Zane again. Zane was covered in blood.

Elena shouted, "Stop! Please stop!"

But no one listened, the battle continued. Elena sees Gani Landry in a Ferrari. His family was the strongest in the southern Old Town. Elena went to beg him.

"Mr Landry, please. Please tell them to stop!" Elena begged.

Gani had not expected to see Elena here, the most beautiful woman in the Southern Old Town.

Gani asks, "Who is this old man?"

"He's Zane Green, my husband's adoptive father, and my father-in-law" Elena replied.

"Well, he's the adoptive father of your useless husband!" Gani scoffs.

"Kenji is not useless. He went to the West to fight. He was a soldier. You should have heard about our wedding. He met many important people. Please let Zane go! For the sake of comfort!" said Elena.

"Don't threaten me! I've heard the news that Kenji is an ordinary veteran. That disabled old man has been bothering me and he's killing my people. I won't let go easily" said Gani.

"Kenji will face you if you kill Zane" Eliza said.

"I said, Kenji is a loser. What can he do to me even if I kill his foster father?" Gani laughed out loud.

"What do you want?" Elena asked.

"Be my woman, or Zane will die tonight" replied Gani.

"No way!" Elena didn't think Gani would be so shameless. He would never agree, and Zane would never allow it even if he agreed.

"The choice is yours, you can refuse if you want to see Zane die in front of your eyes" Gani added.

Elena looked back at Zane. Zane was covered in blood. Elena's body turned cold from fear.

"Mr Landry, please! I'll do anything for you except that. Anything!" Elena knelt beside Gani's car and begged him.

"All I want is you, nothing else" said Gani coldly. He had long craved for the prettiest woman of the Southern Old Town, but he never got a chance.

Now that Elena had come to him herself, she would never miss that opportunity.

Zane sees Eliza kneeling next to Gani's car. She knew right away that she was begging Gani for her.

"Elena, just go. Don't beg her for anything!" Zane yelled at Elena. He would rather die than see his son-in-law kneeling in front of someone for his sake.

Elena is the wife of the number one Defense General and the War God of the Spade Kingdom. It would be embarrassing for him to beg anyone.

Elena didn't know she was the wife of the Defense General. He won't leave. He didn't want to see Zane die at their hands. He begged again,

"You know how powerful the Landry family is, don't you? The head of the politicization, the head of the Tiger Gang, and other important people in the Old South City were my family friends. I could kill Zane like I killed an ant. No one will ask" said Gani.

Elena's desperate. He knew Gani was right. He knew the Landry family was the strongest in the Southern Old City. They even had an effect on the underworld.

Relin broke away from the two people who were hugging him as they let their guard down. Then he ran towards Elena's car.

"Elena! Wake up! Don't beg him! Take the girl away!" Zane yells at Elena when he sees Relin free.

Seeing Relin escape. The members of the Tiger Gang go after him, but Zane stops them.

Elena realized there was no point begging Gani. He ran back to the car when he heard Zane's call.

"Go with the girl! Hurry along!" Zane shouted while restraining the members of the Tiger Gang.

"What about you, dad?" Elena doesn't want to go without Zane.

"Leave me! Just leave before it's too late" Zane replied.

There is no time to doubt. "Get in the car!" Elena said to Relin. Relin followed the instructions without thinking.

Elena also got into the car.

"Dad, come here!" call him Zane again.

But Zane could not avoid, he was surrounded by members of the Tiger Gang.

"Go! Leave me!" Zane called out to him, against the enemies.

Eliza has never experienced anything like this. She's terrified. He wants to take Zane with him, but he knows he can't save her.

All he could do was take Relin and call the police for help. If he hesitated for too long, he and Relin would also be stuck here.

Elena pulled back the car. Her tears flooded her cheeks.

"Catch 'em! Don't let them escape!" Gani rules angrily when she sees Elena going with Relin.

Gani will chase them with his Ferrari. But his car was surrounded by other cars. There's no way out."Go then! Catch them and bring them back!" James shouted with anger.

The members of the Tiger Gang arrived. But Zane wouldn't let them through. He hurt everyone who was going through it. Some even got killed.

Elena pulled the car back dozens of feet. Then the car turned and left.

Gani said angrily after Elena and Relin managed to escape.

"Kill the old man! Kill her!" Gani got out of the car and shouted.

The people from the Tiger Gang would not be able to catch Elena. They start attacking Zane madly after hearing Gani's orders.

Facing dozens of people, Zane neither backed down nor showed the slightest hint of fear. He is old but his spirit is young.

He held the machete firmly and started fighting again.

People fall. Zane had an incision a few times. Zane has no backup, other than himself. He's bleeding.

The members of the Tiger Gang went crazy when they saw their members fall down one by one. They swore they would kill Zane for revenge.

Zane was a master of the Green Family's Golok Art, but he was an old man with crippled legs. He's lost a lot of blood. His body became weak and his movements became slow.

He was stabbed and hit again and again.

Someone slashed Zane's right leg. Zane knelt down and used his left leg to support the body. He was still fighting, just like before.

Zane is heavily injured. The members of the Tiger Gang were no longer afraid of him.

Elena drove down the road with Relin. Then he said to her, "Come down from here. Call the police and ask them to save Zane!"

"Thank you! Thank you for saving me!" Relin had yet to recover from his shock.

Elena turned around after Relin came down. He's coming back to save Zane.

Relin immediately called the local police for help.

Zane was outnumbered. la was stabbed dozens of times. Blood covered his body. He could not move anymore, let alone fight back. But he won't give up. He plugs into the earth and holds the handle with both hands to support his body.

The Tiger Gang members trembled at the sight of Zane who was so persistent with his courage and they did not dare to approach him.

"How long! You ruined my fun! This is how it ends!" Gani.

"You gangsters! You'll be sorry. My son will take revenge for me when he comes back!" Zane. Blood poured out of his mouth.

"Still stubborn? Still counting on your adopted son? He's loser. And he'll end up like you if he comes after me" Gani said with a sarcasm.

"We'll see.. I killed a lot of enemies. I didn't think I'd die at the hands of you gangsters" Zane knew the time had come.

"Kill him now! I'm tired of the bullshit" Gani ordered.

Zane didn't fall even though he was badly injured. The Tiger gang members are shocked by Zane's courage and dare not go forward.

"Useless! Give me an iron bar. I'll kill him myself" Gani will explode in anger.

A man handed over his iron rod to Gani. Gani takes over and lifts him high into the air.

"Go to hell!" he smashed the back of Zane's head. I heard a boring thud.

Zane was hit in the back of his head. He felt dizzy, but he did not fall.

"I can't believe it. He can't be killed?" James took the machete from his men. He stepped forward and stabbed right in Zane's stomach.

Zane started vomiting blood. James pulled out a machete. Blood flow from the wound. Wesker works for Gani. He doesn't want to miss. He kicked Zane in the chest.

The old hero, who shed his blood for his country and killed countless enemies, died. He fell back to the ground, his eyes wide open. Blood still flowed out of his body and spread on the ground.

"Mr Landry, he's dead. Let's go" James told Gani.

"alright. Let's go" replied Gani.

The Tiger Gang people got into their car and left. The bodies of those killed by Zane were left alone.

Elena came at a dizzying speed after Gani left.

He saw dozens of people on the ground. And among them, there's Zane. Face paled. He stopped the car immediately.

"Dad!" Elena cried and cried out in despair. He ran towards Zane's body.

His heart was broken when he saw Zane's wounds with blood still flowing.
