1. Request To Return
"General Ken, the forces of the Kingdom of Diamon are approaching our borders, and they can attack the borders at any time! The Emperor of the Spade Kingdom ordered me to bring you back and lead an army there!"
On a street, a mighty and dignified man in a military uniform was begging with one knee on the ground. The man was Leon Dark, a three-star military warrior.
In front of the man in military uniform was a handsome man in cheap clothes. He looked poor and so lowly as a street dog.
"I have quit for many years from my office and have not taken care of the affairs of the Kingdom for a long time. Tell the Emperor to find someone else." Kenji Ken said in a flat tone and looked unmoved in the slightest.
Many passersby thought they were crazy people filming funny videos, so they did not dare to approach the two people.
"General Ken, King of the Kingdom of Diamon leads an army of three hundred thousand men, and we may lose control of the Western Land at any time, please think of our kingdom! Our Spade Kingdom needs your help..." Leon Dark is still begging.
"Don't say anything more!" Kenji waved his hand and interrupted Leon, "They are only an army of three hundred thousand people. Don't be so scared! You can think of a way to deal with the attack! My wife had asked me to go to a dinner party with her, so I didn't have time to linger here!"
Kenji got on his electric scooter and left after saying that.

The reason why he suddenly retired was a mystery. Even Leon, Kenji's loyal subordinate, doesn't know the reason.

Many people gathered at the Slash family residence to hold a dinner party. They were talking and laughing at each other's dining tables.
"Come, Lina! I'm toasting to you!"
"Mr Wick, I'm toasting to you too! Thank you for helping Lina get the contract."
"This contract could bring in at least two million profits for our family! I should drink more wine for you!"
They toast each other, and their faces beamed with excitement as they spoke.
Lina Slash, the second granddaughter of the Slash family, gets a contract from Universal Group with the help of her fiance, Andri Wick. It was an incredible achievement, so the Slash family had to throw a party to celebrate.
While they were talking and joking, the door of the room opened and someone said.
"Sorry, I'm late. I just got into some trouble. Thank you for waiting for me." Kenji suddenly stepped into the room and apologized to everyone.
The laughter in the room suddenly stopped.
The Slash Family looked at each other while thinking the same thing,
"Why are you thanking us? We didn't even expect you to come!"
Kenji has been married to the Slash family's first daughter for three years. The Slash family considers Kenji's son-in-law useless because he achieved nothing and had to live off his wife.
No member of the Slash family would want to be nice to a loser like him.
"Don't flatter yourself! Can't you tell? We weren't waiting for you at all!" Lina's mother, Miya Smith, said coldly.
"What took you so long? Is your electric scooter broken?" Lina's younger sister, Joni Slash, sneers.
Kenji felt a little awkward. He only said that to be polite, and he never thought that the people of the Slash family would ridicule him for what he said.
Fortunately, now he had gotten used to all their ridicule and insults at him for having been going on for the past few years.
He didn't want to fool himself for much longer, so he just sat quietly beside a very pretty girl.
Elena Slash, the eldest daughter of the Slash family. She is Kenji's wife, though they never sleep the same bed.
Elena was the prettiest girl in the Southern City and many rich men from the famous Families of the Southern City wanted to make her a wife.
But Brandon Slash, Elena's grandfather, forces her to marry Kenji and lets the man into the Slash family three years ago. Everyone thought Brandon was crazy because Kenji had just retired from the army back then and had nothing.
The most beautiful girl in the Southern City had married a poor man. It was the biggest joke in the Southern City.
"Don't say anything. Just eat your dinner." Elena whispered coldly.
"Yes, I understand." Kenji started eating quietly.
Kenji is in a dilemma when he remembers how Leon begged him to return to lead the army.
Enemies from the kingdom of Diamon approached the borders of his kingdom. Kenji used to be the Kingdom's number one Defense General. How can he just sit here when his kingdom will be attacked by the enemy?
Kenji's arrival is just a small episode at the party. Before long, everyone forgot about it and continued chatting with each other happily.
"Our family will definitely soon become a noble family since we have established a relationship with Universal Group!" Jiah Slash, the current head of the Slash family, said with a big smile on his face.
"Yes. What my son-in-law did was impressive. He could help Lina get the contract quickly. She was very different from the other daughter-in-law who was just idle." Rendi Slash said as he glanced at Kenji who was eating with his head down.
Rendi is Jiah's second son. He is the father of Lina and Joni. Rendi never got along well with Elena's father, so she wouldn't miss an opportunity to ridicule him and his family.
Elena, Rama, and Elena's mother, Sofia Ford, all became awkward after hearing what Rendi had just said.
"Dad, how can you compare your future son-in-law to a useless person?" Lina was the one getting the contract, so she felt she didn't want to miss out on Kenji either.
"That's fine. Mr. Wick was born into a noble family, and he himself was an elite. He has no equal. But one only knows about eating and sleeping. Our family will one day go bankrupt if we continue to provide for it!" Jiah praises Andri, and he also takes the opportunity to insult Kenji.
Andri smiled and said, "Mrs Slash, that's very good. Do you know, many poor people have never tried so much good food. So let him eat. You can see it like you're keeping a dog. You wouldn't go broke just by providing food for a dog."
Andri never liked Kenji. He was jealous of her because a loser like Kenji could marry the prettiest woman in the Southern City! Elena is better than Lina. Both of the face, personality, nature and talent.
He hates Kenji for marrying Elena. Otherwise, how would he lose to that slacker and have to marry Lina who simply could not compete with Elena in all aspects?
A good man always gets an innocent wife while a lazy man always gets a beautiful wife. Andri thought the saying was true!
"Yes. I like dogs. I also keep Bull Dog at home. I don't mind feeding one more dog." Lina added to Andri's joke.
Kenji says nothing, but he remains the target of insults and scorn. Elena felt so embarrassed that her face turned red and then turned pale.
Elena felt that laughing at Kenji was tantamount to laughing at him and humiliating his parents.
Elena blames her late grandfather, Brandon, for putting her in such awkward predicament.
Brandon knew that Kenji had no money when he retired from the military three years ago, but Brandon insisted that the man should marry into their family and force Elena to marry him.

Elena became increasingly suspicious of Brandon's intentions. He thought Brandon might have been completely wrong back then or just done it because he hated it.
"Can't you just shut up for a moment and let me have dinner quietly? I know you just got a contract from Universal Group. But what makes you so excited? Don't get carried away by such a small thing!" Kenji finally couldn't stand all the ridicule anymore and said with disdain.
After Leon asked him to return to lead the soldiers, his emotions surged within his chest. He began to see weapons, fighting vehicles, soldiers, corpses, and even blood before his eyes.
But he continued to lose his train of thought because of the voices around him. He's pissed.
Everyone fell silent after hearing what Kenji had just said.
They never expected that a useless person who never dared to argue with them when they laughed at him in the past three years would say that today! And what he just said was so arrogant!
"What did you just say? Do you think a loser like you can tell us not to get carried away?" Jiah was so angry that she almost vomited blood.
"This lawman may not know how powerful the Universal Group is. That's why he can say something so arrogant."
"Let me teach you something! The market value of Universal Group amounted to over two hundred trillion, and it was the most powerful company in the Southern City. Any family can be rich if they can establish some kind of relationship with the Universal Group."

Although they started laughing at Kenji again, he did not bother arguing with them. They do not deserve to know their ambitions.

At that moment, a man in a military uniform who looked tough and with a sour expression rushed into the room!
Everyone was shocked including Kenji. That tough guy was Leon who had begged Kenji on the street before! "really stubborn" Kenji thought.
"General Ken, the enemy forces are starting to attack us, and we are losing the West Land! The Emperor said that he would agree to whatever terms you give, as long as you agree to return to lead the army and take down our enemies. Please come back with me and become our general again!"
Leon knelt down in front of Kenji and began to beg as soon as he entered the room. He paid no heed to the astonished expressions on the faces of those who saw him.
The Slash family people in the room were all staring at Leon agape. They just couldn't believe their eyes!
And they have the same question, "Who's General Ken?"
Kenji stood with his hands clasped behind his back while the others stared at him in wonder. He no longer looked like a loser. Instead, he looked confident like the ruler of the world as he asked Leon a question.
"The Kingdom of Spade had many brave soldiers and talented generals. Can't you find someone else to lead the army in my place?"
Leon was at a loss for words when he heard Kenji's question. He thought, "Isn't that clear? Why did the Emperor send me here and call you back if another general can defeat the enemy?"
"General Ken, you're an expert in military strategy. No one is better and braver than you. The enemy troops will run away if you are there with us, and we can win the war without even making an attack!" Leon replied in a loud voice.
Everyone was stunned after hearing Leon's words. They just can't trust their ears!
"Leave us now. I need time to think. Let's talk about it next time." Kenji did not want to discuss the royal affairs in public, so he had to have Leon leave.
"General Ken, you are the most important person to us, and your presence is indispensable to the victory of the Spade Kingdom!" Leon keeps begging Kenji. He thought, maybe Kenji is still hesitant to come back. He had reported to his superiors after Kenji refused his request for the first time.
But Leon's superior gave him another firm order. Leon must bring Kenji back with him at all costs. No matter what terms will be given and what Leon has to do!
Otherwise, Leon would face the death penalty! Leon was terrified to hear his superior's words.
He finds out that Kenji went to the Slash family residence, so Leon follows.
Looks like Kenji will refuse his request again this time. How can Leon calm down?
"Enough! You're so annoying! I said we'll talk about it next time! Didn't you hear me? Now get out of here!" Kenji's angry. He could not believe Leon dared to talk about secret information in front of many people.
"Yes, Sir!" Leon did not dare to say a word. He just turned around and stepped out, just like how he got in.
Everyone sat in deadly silence with their mouths open. It took them a while to recover from the astonishment. Someone started clapping. The rest followed.
Kenji has received flowers and applause many times. But this was the first time she had gotten applause at the Slash family, so she was not used to it yet.
"You don't have to praise me. I quit the military years ago." Kenji spoke while sitting in his chair again.
He cursed Leon in his heart. Kenji just wants to pretend he's a useless guy, but Leon has revealed his identity to the Slash family at the dinner table. How could he not stand out from now on?
Kenji retires and returns to his hometown when he is still in his prime. She did not do that because she wanted to marry into a rich family. He had a reason he couldn't tell anyone.
But after Kenji returned to the Southern City, Brandon asked him to marry the Slash family's eldest daughter. Kenji accepted it without hesitation.
Kenji didn't do it because he wanted to live rich. He accepted it because he wanted to repay the debt of gratitude to Elena and Brandon.
Kenji can never forget the night of the storm ten years ago. He and his mother had no place to stay that night. They had to hide under the crossroads. Kenji's mother is weak and suffers from an illness.
He had no money, so he had to stop the car on the street and ask the people in the car for help. He wants to take his mother to the hospital.
He begged and continued to beg in the heavy rain by the road, but no one sympathized with him and not a single person offered help.
At the most helpless and desperate moment, a Mercy car stopped right beside him.
A girl his age got out of the car with an umbrella in hand. He asks Kenji about the situation and then asks his grandfather to take Kenji's mother to the hospital.
His grandfather agreed and even praised him.
That kind girl is Elena.
Elena and her grandfather not only took Kenji and her mother to the hospital but also paid medical bills. The old man even gave some money in order to take care of his mother.
That act of kindness was no big deal to Elena and Brandon, but it meant a lot to Kenji and his mother. They had helped in his most critical moments of distress and saved his mother.
One must return the slightest favor. And what if it was a big help? Elena and Brandon have saved Kenji's mother's life, so he owes them a lot!
It was also the night that Kenji fell in love with Elena. She falls in love with a beautiful, kind girl at first sight. But he knew he had nothing, so he did not dare to think of being together with him.

Kenji tensed. He doesn't know what's going on.
"I thought I was going to explode trying not to laugh!" Joni was the first to laugh out loud.
"Defense General Ken, you are the most important person to us. And you are indispensable to the Spade Kingdom!' You are a really great actor! I'll trust you if I don't know that you're just a loser!" Andri also could not hold back her laughter anymore.
"Kenji, you're very good at this! Why don't you work as an actor? You've wasted your talent!"
"People who have just left are also good actors.How much did it cost you to hire him? And the uniform looks so real! Where did you buy it?"
"Why didn't you get a good job after serving in the army for five years? how could a loser like you pretend to be a Defense General? Are you trying to make us laugh to death?"
No one believed what Leon and Kenji had just said. They thought it was just a show.
They all thought that Kenji had hired a man to put on a show to impress the Slash family because he could no longer stand all the ridicule. And they think what Kenji did was stupid because they hate him even more now!
"Kenji, tell me. Is it any good if I die from laughter? Who will support you if I die?" Elena finally wanted to not speak.
Elena had believed in what Kenji and Leon had said because they looked very serious. But after hearing what Joni and Andri said, she realized that it was just a show Kenji did because of his stubborn pride.
He's becoming more disappointed in Kenji now. He thought he was not only a slacker but also a con man. How could he have hope for his future?
Kenji can't explain. But he thought it was a good thing that no one believed him, because he didn't want them to know who he was!
So he went with it and said,
"I just want to show you something fun and spice things up."
"No! You have to stop that shit! You can't let a stranger come to our house next time.what if he steals something from us? Our home is not a place that just anyone can go to!" Jiah blaring.
Kenji sneered silently. He thought, "If you knew who Leon is, you'd feel that his presence is a great honor!"
Even though Leon had kneeled before Kenji, he was actually a Three-star General!
He had to kneel because Kenji was far above him.
"Sorry, I can't stop laughing!"
"My stomach hurts from laughing!"
"Kenji, why don't you change your surname from Ken to Laughing? it's more suitable for you!"
They're Still laughing.
Kenji loses his appetite after being subjected to ridicule. So he stood quietly and prepared to leave.
However, something unexpected happened.
When Kenji turns around, Bull Dog Lina happens to be under his feet. He had not expected there to be a dog there, so he had accidentally stepped on it!
Lina was furious when she saw that. "Damn it! Are you blind? How dare you trample on my beloved dog! Do you want to die?" Lina cursed Kenji.
At the same time, he picked up his bowl and threw it towards Kenji!
Kenji found out what Lina was doing from behind. He turned around, then punched him and the bowl broke.
Although his bowl was crushed in the air, the soup inside was still splashed onto Kenji's face and chest.
Kenji never expected that Lina would throw a bowl at him just because she accidentally stepped on his dog! Is he really inferior to a dog in the eyes of the Slash family?
