The Soul of the Maya World

The Soul of the Maya World
Chapter 8

"Why, instead of you asking to marry my daughter yourself, don't tell me that you don't want to be responsible for the fetus in my daughter's womb!" ryan snapped with emotion.

"Sorry not so sir, Laras must return to be the new Muslim we can marry," replied Fian while turning to Arman.

"What do you mean, we are Muslims just like you," asked Sophia curiously.

"You are Muslims, but not Laras" replied Fian firmly.

"We don't understand what you mean" Arman said confusedly.

"Darling you tell the truth" Fian ordered as he walked closer to his wife.

"But I'm afraid of Mas" Laras replied as he looked at Fian.

"You don't need to be afraid, because as long as I'm alive no one will be able to hurt you including your parents" Fian explained as he stroked the wife's hair.

After hearing Fian's answer, Laras began to tell about himself who had decided to quit Islam since sitting in high school. While crying Laras began to beg for mercy to his parents. Arman and Sophia seemed to not believe that the princess could convert without their knowledge.

"Sorry sir, can you help Laras return to Islam" Fian asked Ahmad.

"God willing, sir" replied Ahmad briefly.

"Then how about we just solve this problem at home" Sophia suggested to her husband.

"Well then let's go home first" said Arman.

"But I'm sorry I can't go home with you guys, because there are some things I have to buy" Fian said, turning to Sophia.

"Where are you going" asked Laras penasarn.

"You go home with your parents first, after all my business is done I'll pick you up" Fian explained with a smile to Laras.

Laras finally went home with his parents and Ustad Ahmad by taxi. Fian who was not with them immediately drove his car to a store to buy a set of prayer tools and some Muslim clothes for Laras and some expensive jewelry that will be used later dowry for the wife. After all the preparations were complete, Fian immediately drove his car to the house of Laras.

Laras also began to be led by the ustadz to say two sentences of shahadah as a sign if he declared himself to enter the religion of Islam. After Laras re-emerged in Islam, now is the time for Fian to make a deal in front of Laras' parents. With just one statement of the order of Laras now legally became the wife of Muhammad Julfiansyah.

"Thank you Mom and Dad for giving us our blessing" Fian told Arman and Sophia.

"Originally you know I married my daughter to you not because of blessing, but because I didn't want my child to get pregnant without a husband" Arman replied.

"Father," said Sophia while staring intently at Arman.

"I will prove to you and Mom that I will take care and treat Laras well" Fian said loudly.

After asking permission from Laras' parents to bring the wife back to his house. Fian gave a pouch containing Muslim clothing and a hijab and veil to his wife. Laras who already understood the meaning of the husband immediately put on the clothes that Fian gave him.

"Father, Ibu Laras said to come with Mas Fian to his house" said Laras while kissing his parents' hands.

"God willing, may you always be happy, son" replied Sophia, hugging the princess.

"We will always pray for you, son" Sophia replied, wiping her tears.

"Don't you ever make my daughter cry, if that happens I'll look for you and kill you" Arman threatened Fian without looking into the daughter-in-law's face.

After saying goodbye, Fian and Laras finally left for Fian's house. After almost 1 hour they finally arrived at the workshop as well as Fian's residence. As Laras and Fianakan entered into the room suddenly came a voice that shouted towards them.

"Never bring that apostate woman to live here!" yelled someone from behind.

Fian and Laras who were surprised by the voice immediately turned towards the direction of the voice. It turns out that Ardi Fian's eldest brother found out about the problem of Laras's transfer from muslim to christian. Fian and Laras stared at each other in confusion.

"Where does Abang know that Laras is an apostate woman," Fian's inner voice turned towards Laras.

"Will there be no other woman until you choose an apostate like her!" snapped Ardi while pointing towards Laras who had started to shed tears.

"You go into the room, let me face it all," Fian ordered as he opened the door to his room.

"But Mas …." Laras stopped her words when she saw her husband nodding his head while opening the room door.

After Laras entered the room, Fian closed the door. He immediately invited Ardi to speak in his office. It just so happens that Fian's workspace is made soundproof, so when he talks to clients it will not be disturbed by the noise of heavy equipment from outside.

"What do you mean by talking like that" Fian told Ardi when they were in Fian's office.

"Why can you marry that apostate woman, especially without the blessing of family!" ardi replied while shouting.

"Who told the brother about this matter," Fian asked as he sat in his chair.

Fian does have a very relaxed attitude in dealing with many people, especially facing the problems that exist in his life. Fian's mother died when she was in High School, while her father died while she was studying at a private university in Jakarta. Maybe that's why Fian grew up to be a very independent and calm person in his life.

"You don't need to know who delivered this news to me, who must have quickly divorced the woman," Ardi ordered as he stared intently at Fian.

"Nobody has the right to rule my life, including Brother," Fian said, leaning back in his chair.

"I have the right to govern you because you are the smallest brother in our family" Ardi replied firmly.

"I'm indeed the smallest child in the family, but you have to remember that I'm a man2 and I have the right to decide for myself who I live my life with" Fian said casually.

"Remember I can close this place of your business at any time if you don't want to follow my rules" Ardi threatened to the younger brother.

"Please, I'll gladly leave this place but remember I can also destroy this place at any time because of all this I made it," replied Fian while standing up and walking towards Ardi.

"If Abang feels that the eldest brother why not prevent Siska's marriage to the poor brondong, as long as Abang knows that the man only uses Siska for the life of him and his family," added Fian while sitting on the table.

Hearing the brother's words that sounded very cornering Ardi straight out of Fian's room. Fian who saw the attitude of the elder brother could only laugh while shaking his head. After solving his problem with Ardi, Fian went straight into the room to meet Laras who was still crying in the room.

"What are you crying about" Fian asked as he sat under his bed.
